Like Lestat needs, therapy and medication, a support group and a straight jacket with a padded cell. Was'nt Louis supposed to be a french aristocrat just like Lestat? I'm confused. And where can you watch that show? Looks nice.
The show has actually moved the timeline to the early 1900s, so instead of Louis' parents being French aristocrats who moved to New Orleans when he was a child, his ancestors were French immigrants (still aristocrats probably, because they're rich af). His family is still privileged, they were plantation owners up until Louis' father died.
So in this version, Louis is Creole and speaks French fluently. If you don't mind the timeline change, please trust me when I say that this Louis is much more interesting and complex than we could have hoped for and his racial identity only adds to that. The actor was also an excellent choice for the part, he gives a phenomenal performance.
You can watch the show on AMC+. It's already been renewed for a second season that will air possibly in late 2023 to early 2024
@@politemenace5781 "De" means "of" so indicates an aristocratic background. Royal Family was "De Bourbon" for example. Sounds an interesting new angle. Couldn't do as good as the book anyway. All the more eager to watch. Ty for the answer.
@@nicolasviard2252 to be honest I'm glad they decided to make some major changes because it's an adaptation after all. The book is already there, a different medium, a complete story in itself. It is a quite interesting take imo, I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for watching and commenting :)

Ending of it was disappointing. Armand wasn't much of a suprise and he doesn't look like him either like the book.. he ain't a Russian.
Nor is Louis or Claudia black. Antionette wasn't a woman. Who cares, it's an adaption. It's suppose to be changed, it's suppose to be different.
Louis & Claudia weren't black or mixed. Nick Fury wasn't black, Electro wasn't black. Aquaman wasn't Hawaiian, Namor wasn't Latina and the list goes on and on. Who cares about skin color, or nationality even. As long as they embody the personality, and heart of the character.

Is sounds to me like you're missing the point of the story entirely, that is if you know anything about the story and don't just perceive the character on a superficial level based on a random compilation you found on youtube. He's severely depressed, and, well, a vampire. It wouldn't make sense for him to be any other way.
