I've always questioned 'what the heck do I do to prep behind a patch panel?' it seems all the spray on weld through primer I've tried flakes off even after vigorous cleaning with a top prep. Do you guys ever use rust inhibitor/converter for a process like panel patching?

I thought you might want to know what one person likes about your videos.Videos like this could go on for an hour as far as I'm concerned.I don't even have a car to work on presently but these videos fascinate me.The product ones don't interest me much because I don't have enough engine/systems technical knowledge to use the information. If I was actively working on a car, they'd be gold to me. I had a 66GTO.If I'd sent it out to be media blasted? It wouldn't have returned.I think it was all rust.

Is it safe to sandblast a whole car or would you recommend soda blast? An what is your definition on media last ?

Ayy gee Uprising "Media" is the "Stuff" you blast at a car. Whatever blasting medium you choose, there are benefits and drawbacks. Sand was the old stand-by, it's cheap and effective, but the friction of it hitting the panels can cause heat and warpage. Other media, like plastic or baking soda, are less likely to warp the panels but they can leave plastic residue behind or the soda can corrode the bare steel. Today, we use various types, including Dustless Blasting, which is a crushed glass bead carried by high pressure water with a corrosion inhibitor. This keeps the panels cool, but also cuts the paint / rust.
