Great review. Ensuring you can read your gauges and see the undersea world helps make diving safer and more enjoyable. As a newer diver, I had thought about whether these products were available. My previous job sometimes required me to wear a full-face mask, and I had to get specially made lens for the mask. This review was good info for me. Thanks for sharing.
Useful info. Thanks. Currently trying to decide between bifocal contact lenses or surgery!!! Didn't realise bi-focal masks were an option. I really just need longer arms to be able to read my guages!!!! 🙂 Thanks again.
I have been using a variety of masks with readers but finally made a jump to full lens plus diopter. Big improvement. Unfortunately masks with plus diopters are not as available as negative diopters, so choice is limited. But still good choices are available at reasonable prices
That's interesting about having the smaller area under the prescription glass to read gauges, I really didn't realise that I'd be hitting near the need for reading glasses in my mid 40s! (why didn't someone warn me!). I also wish someone had advised me to get a dive computer with larger text. Great break down, thanks.
Do they make clip in glasses for conventional masks? I have a pair for my full face mask for work and was wondering if that would be an option just in case you have to swap masks on a trip.
Don't think you can swap out the corrective lenses once installed. Depending on your Rx you could take an extra pair of lenses with you. Extra cost, but small price to pay for vision.
One of my dive club buddies went clip-in prescription lenses last year. He is happy that he can use them for both scuba and skiing. I do not know what brand he has, but found a few options using Google search.
i cant find these variants in divein europe.. and i also don't know where to upload my prescription. i need progresive lenses, for far and for near sightedness. for seeing in the distance: Right eye: sferical: -1.25 Cyl: 1.00 Ax: 162 pupilari distance: 33 Left Eye: Sferical: -1.25 CYL: -0.75 Az: 92 pupilari distance: 32 For short sieght: Right Eye: SF -0.25 Cyl: -1.00 Ax: 162 Left Eye: -0.25 Cyl: -0.75 Ax: 92 so yeah, i want the same mask (black color as your orange one) but there isnt any option for that... nor the other black expensive one.
Check out the Prescription Dive Mask link in the description. The mask selection is smaller, but you can get bifocals with your astigmatism. Progressives (where you can't see the lines) aren't available, as far as I know. So, you'll have near- and farsighted-corrected lenses with Axis and cylinder adjustments. You'll just have the noticeable line between the near and far lenses.
Great video! I have a friend who has struggled with his diving because of his need for lenses. This is very helpful and informative!

I use reading glasses, so this is great info!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video! It made me start looking around to (no pun intended) find a good marriage of mask and lense.
Glad we could help! What are you going for of mask and lenses?

We know the feeling. Glad you like the guide.
Thank You! I have not seen a video covering this before. At 64, I need lenses for mask.
