We just moved here. It’s being like a dream! Endless choices of restaurants within walking distance, day to day life needs like groceries, tailors, leather repairs, locksmith, haircut, plant shops and comedy shows are all walkable. Love it so much!
Absolutely incredible video. Lakeview is such a gem of a neighborhood and feeds such heart into the city of Chicago. Thanks for a high quality dive into the history and story!
Excellent video. I am a Lakeview East resident and I absolutely love it. it feels like two completely different worlds though Lakeview East and West. Once you get about a block west of the stadium feels much more residential and suburban. Lakeview East feels like more of a vibrant city neighborhood. that stretch of Broadway from Addison to Diversy is probably my favorite street in Chicago. it’s also kind of jarring how desolate it gets on Clark and Halsted between Belmont and Diversy. Hopefully they can livin it up a bit more.
I'm in my mid 50s n grew up in Lakeview on and off but for many years ,went to several grade schools.lived at Belmont n Paulina. Used to love shoping there and all the bars in Boys town after I got drinking age.A awesome part of Chi town, great memories nice video.
i lived in lv in the good old days 1965 to 1995 ,i worked at the music box and wrigly in my younger days, and went to blaine elem and lake view hs, i owned a 2 flat at lincoln and belmont my father was born in lake view in 1916 he pased in 2004 at 88 and owened a house at belmont and racine , he lived in lake almost his entire life,my mother was also born in lake view, lake view was always the best part of chicago,to me lake view change for the worst ,i say that i think because i'm getting old ,how ever to most it changed for the better,30 years ago my 2 flat sold for thousands ,recently it sold for millons ,please don't misunderstand my comment ,I WILL ALWAYS LOVE LAKE VIEW,if not for lake view i wouldn't be where i am today ( ps COOK COUNTY TAXES ARE TO HIGH because of mismanagement )

Justice for the Graceland West subneighborhood. Everyone forgets about us 😢
I still call the Amoco Building the Standard Oil Building, its original (real) name 😉
