How to spot fake Levi's 501 Jeans
Original Levi's 501 jeans cost $110, the price of fake jeans varies between $30 - $50.
The first safety element to identify fake Levi's 501 jeans is the fixed leather label on the back... the original color is brown, compared to the fake one which is yellowish... more carefully inspect the company logo, it must be perfect, without wipes or extra material or paint, everything must be in its place, such a big brand will never make such mistakes...
The original removable black label has the company's logo in the center in bright red, compared to the fake one which is located in the upper right and is of a more faded red color... see the video, like the text 100% cotton / 100% cotton is missing from the fake label.
Carefully inspect the non-removable red label on the back of the jeans, it must show the LEVIS text on both sides, fakes only show it on one side... see in the video.
The original buttons of the jeans must be inscribed with the text levis strauss co cal sf, on fakes we do not find this aspect... see in the video. The fastening system of the buttons is different, the original has two holes compared to the fake one which does not have this aspect... moreover, the original iron buttons are inscribed with vlr1. if this inscription is missing, then you are surely dealing with some fake Levi's jeans.
Another safety element to distinguish original Levi's 501 jeans is the non-removable inner label, on the original we find it with the text quality clothing levis premium san francisco cal, on the fake we do not find this aspect.
The fixed white inner label with the serial number can only be found on the fake, on the original there are 6 non-removable labels, the last one shows the serial number and the batch... attention, the serial number on the inner non-removable label must be identical to the serial number of on the black removable label, if this safety element is not present, then you are surely dealing with a pair of fake Levi's 501 jeans.
Another difference between a pair of fake jeans and an original Levi's is the pockets.... on the original the image with the text is more faded, compared to the fake one which is darker, attention.... carefully inspect the image and the text on pockets, these must be without extra paint (see example for fake ... in the video).

I don't know how to tell a fake pair of Levis. They all appear fake to me, now . I still wear 501s.
Many products are produced in one factory - only one is "real " and other "fake". I saw bread production in London. One bread - only at the end of production line one bread was packed in "supermarket cheap brand" , one in branded cover ( 2 times more expensive bread ). Plastic cover also produced by one company. So only price was different.

У меня в середине 80х были джинсы Levi's деним - из штатов, и микровельвет из Англии. Сестра мне купила по случаю. Деним из штатов, был голубого цвета, шовная нить была оранжевой, и структура ткани другая, чем сейчас - там как-будто крест на крест нити шли.Это более плотная вязка и держится ткань дольше. Микровельвет был темно-синий, и очень мне нравился. А сейчас, что настоящие, что подделка вообще хрен знает что. И ткань другая, и цвет некрасивый.

It doesnt matter whether its fake or not, what matters is who is wearing it. If the person wearing the original looks poor and ugly it still look fake. But If the person wears the fake one but he's looks rich and handsome, it will look like he wears the oniginal jeans 😁

I’ve just got 501s from charity shop for £10, made in UK, the embroidered label seating on the left hand inside just below the pocket cloths, they have anything printed, so I’m totally confused and this video didn’t help to find out whether I had a bargain deal or just paid too much 🥂

Well, first of all levis has many series on their product by series I dont refer to cut like 501, 511, and soon. Series which I mean is like the most expensive one is made and crafted in japan, the premium jeans which produced on "a little bit expensive labour country" like the one you show as real and the cheapest which is usually produced on cheap labour country like on south east asia or turkey. You will find many differences among them. I cant actually said the cheap one is fake because the price is actually decent for cheap labour country production levis.
I bought three pair one pair wouldn’t fit me. The other two pair one the straddle ripped out and the other the belt loops broke. In the 70s my cousin would pass them down to me. With a patch in the knees they would last for years. Now. Junk.

Хотел тоже это написать, но не стал заострять - у меня были привезенные из загранку джинсы Ливайс(Левис) в начале 80х.Темно-голубые,и ткань была даже с виду другой текстуры. Думаю, и плетение нити, и качество хлопка, и прокраска, и сам краситель в то время были совершенно иные - сейчас "оптимизировали" процесс и само качество продукции. Увы. За последние десятилетия, буквально все некогда товары и бренды исключительного качества, почему-то потеряли этот статус.

Bring manufacturing back to the states. MAYBE then they will again be true to size on the label. I've worn 517's for over 50 years and the last 25 years ya gotta buy 8 pair just to get 1 pair that might fit right.

I have a pair of 501's Premium with the number 215 stamped on the button and 1005 on the tag. Other things like stitching, labels etc. look legit. Made in South Africa. Bought new off Ebay. Fake or Real?

Los jeans Levi's 501 originales cuestan $110, el precio de los jeans falsos varía entre $30 y $50.
El primer elemento de seguridad para identificar unos Levi's 501 falsos es la etiqueta de cuero fijada en la parte trasera... el color original es marrón, en comparación con el falso que es amarillento... examina más detenidamente el logo de la empresa, debe ser perfecto, sin toallitas ni material extra ni pintura, cada cosa debe estar en su sitio, una marca tan grande nunca cometerá errores así...
La etiqueta negra removible original tiene el logo de la empresa en el centro en rojo brillante, frente a la falsa que se encuentra en la parte superior derecha y es de un color rojo más descolorido... ver el vídeo, como el texto 100% algodón / En la etiqueta falsa falta 100% algodón.
Inspeccione con atención la etiqueta roja no removible en la parte posterior de los jeans, debe mostrar el texto LEVIS en ambos lados, las falsificaciones solo lo muestran en un lado... ver en el video.
Los botones originales de los jeans deben tener inscrito el texto levis strauss co cal sf, en las falsificaciones no encontramos este aspecto... ver en el vídeo. El sistema de sujeción de los botones es diferente, el original tiene dos agujeros respecto al falso que no tiene este aspecto... además, los botones de hierro originales tienen la inscripción vlr1. Si falta esta inscripción, seguramente se trata de unos vaqueros Levi's falsos.
Otro elemento de seguridad para distinguir los jeans Levi's 501 originales es la etiqueta interior no removible, en el original la encontramos con el texto calidad ropa levis premium san francisco cal, en el falso no encontramos este aspecto.
La etiqueta interior blanca fija con el número de serie sólo se puede encontrar en la falsificación, en el original hay 6 etiquetas no removibles, la última muestra el número de serie y el lote... atención, el número de serie en el interior no -La etiqueta removible debe ser idéntica al número de serie de la etiqueta removible negra; si este elemento de seguridad no está presente, seguramente se trata de un par de jeans Levi's 501 falsos.
Otra diferencia entre un par de jeans falsos y un Levi's original son los bolsillos.... en el original la imagen con el texto está más descolorida, en comparación con el falso que es más oscuro, atención.... inspecciona cuidadosamente la imagen y el texto en los bolsillos, estos deben estar sin pintura adicional (ver ejemplo de falsificación... en el video).

I remember buying levi jeans as a youth, they were tough, hard wearing and not that expensive.
Now i buy jeans made by anyone that make decent jeans at a decent price, and they are tough hard wearing but no where near the price of levi jeans.
I looked at levi jeans but find the quality is not as good as it used to be, and the price is ridiculously over priced so i don't buy them any more.
I get good jeans at a fraction of the price of levi jeans, so American jean makers made the product popular and then destroyed their own market by over pricing the goods.
These fake jeans companies should simply produce their own brand, or sell the jeans at a price people can afford and not bother trying to latch onto a high priced brand.
Clearly the jeans are a pretty good quality product so price them right and sell them as a different name, but they can keep the same look no law against the way the jeans look or perform.

@@divineharris6463 At the time they were not 3xpensive for what you were getting, ie a pair of jeans that would last a long time, and when they got holes in them you repaired them, and they would last a bit longer.
Ok yes they may well have been the more expensive jeans, but you got quality that you knew would last, now I'm not so sure and the price is rediculouse.
Anyway like I said you can get some real good quality jeans for a fraction of the price, for one pair of levy I can get 6 pairs of hard wearing decent looking jeans or close to that.
I also like jeans that look like they are new not been dragged through bushes and torn.
If my jeans end up looking that way it will because they have worn and enjoyed.
Sad that levi jeans don't provide working jeans anymore at a price worth having them for.
