I love Eucalypus and Spearmint. You should get Natures Garen's Sinus Relief scent. It smells just like Vicks. It is fantastic in soap and especially for shower steamers. It will help with all the allergy stuffy noses. It's also great for putting in lotion for a chest rub.
Thanks for the recipe, Ellen! I used it today subbing olive for sunflower as I didn't have enough. It was a gorgeous batter. Thank you! Your soap inspired me for an ocean theme with blues. Peace and good vibes to you.
Beautiful soap Ellen, love the color combo you did for swirls. I love Nature's Garden Eucalyptus and Spearmint F.O. when I make it, it's always a hit! 😊😊
How is the smell after the cure? I have tried several different eucalyptus & spearmint fragrances from different compaines, and the smell fades to nothing. I have not tried Nature's Garden yet. Thank-you.
@@EllenRuthSoap Well, here I go to buy this blue....Sigh, I never can buy just one thing. LOL. I want to do florescent colors and black with a bit of glow-in-the-dark swirled in for Halloween. I think I'll have to use melt and pour to get the glow to show up. Hmmm.... I wonder if it would even show up? I keep seeing that glow in the dark stuff on Mad Micas and wonder if it would make a cool CP soap or not. I'll have to go to the lab and play the nutty professor to find out. LOL. Thank You for all the fun and ideas I get watching you. I enjoy it so much!
I love these. I made some with eucalyptus and rosemary to put out for our next show. I ve been binging your videos the last few days, I love even having them playin the background when I go to sleep. Just had a surgery because of thyroid cancer on Thursday so your videos have been nice and calm to listen too ❤️
citric acid becomes sodium citrate, which helps to reduce soap scum and reduces spoilage and DOS (dreaded orange spots) in finished soap products. I cut my bars 1.25" thick.
These are beautiful! Do you mind sharing a link or information about the immersion blender you use? I’ve been looking but am unable to find anything similar. Thanks ❤
Beautiful soap Ellen - If I might ask. I just got the 20" tall skinny mold from Workshop Heritage. It says it's a 6lb (110 oz) capacity. You had a recipe that was 141.19oz before the cure (but somewhere said it was 5lbs) will this recipe work well for it? I LOVE your recipes Thank you for your videos
Is there an issue shrink wrapping soap a long as end are open to help seal in the essential oils until they are sold or gifted? I used a hole puncher to puch holes in a couple of spots. Just wondering the pros/cons?
When an ingredient in the fragrance binds with some of the harder oil components in the recipe, it can form little rice-shaped lumps. Usually, you can stick blend the soap to smooth out the ricing.
I think you're meaning "ricing", that's where the fragrance causes little clumps to for when it hits the batter. Most of the time it can be blended out to a smooth batter again.
@@EllenRuthSoap how sweet of you to reply so promptly!… of course I wrote it wrong! Thank you so much and many many blessings. Love your channel, your way of teaching and your lovely personality.
I love watching you make soap. It’s almost therapeutic for me.

I just had a friend ask about something along this line! Time to go shopping. 😆
I'll check it out! Sounds perfect for allergy season💙
@@EllenRuthSoap would love to see you make some allergy season creations (shower steamers, soaps, chest rub)
These did turn out beautifully!!! I bet they smell FANTASTIC!
Thanks! They really do smell wonderful💙
This would be a pretty Earth Day soap. It reminds me of the earth with the rounded swirl in the center.
Beautiful design, have a beautiful day and thank you for sharing.❤️

This is one of my favourite fragrances. It's lovely in bath bombs as well.
Beautiful soap, Miss Ellen!
I'm so glad it behaved, because it smells wonderful!
Oh I've been wanting the bell bottom blue. Glad I get to see it in soap. YAY.
It's such a pretty color💙

Thanks💅
I use similar colors for my eucalyptus mint soaps. ❤
Thanks, Ellen. I also make a Eucalytpus and Mint soap but with EOs. I use peppermint instead of Spearmint even though spearmint is my preferred fave.
Those colors are beautiful, and the swirls. Great job. Another great video like always.
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful 😍 wish I could smell it!!
Love this fragrances andcthe colours are gorgeous.I love watching your video's they are so calming to me . Thank you for sharing 😊xx

No olive oil, can’t wait to try this, olive oil is so expensive, thank you
Thank you Ellen your recipes have helped me a lot 😊😊😊😊😊 9:40 what’s your bar soap size?
I cut them at 1.25" thick
Could you please create a video just on making lye solution?? ❤
Here's a video where I cover it in detail: ua-cam.com/video/0fqMme6DCUQ/v-deo.html
Beautiful soap. What can I substitute lard with.
If you change the oils in a CP recipe, you'll need to run the numbers thru soap calc to make sure your lye ratio is correct.
Hi Ellen, do you happen to have a recommendation for a good quality, small soap loaf splitter>
I have the Workshop Heritage log splitter.
So totally cute❤Tell me again why you would use citric acid in cp soap
Also what size are your finished bars.
citric acid becomes sodium citrate, which helps to reduce soap scum and reduces spoilage and DOS (dreaded orange spots) in finished soap products. I cut my bars 1.25" thick.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you😇
These are beautiful! Do you mind sharing a link or information about the immersion blender you use? I’ve been looking but am unable to find anything similar. Thanks ❤
I love my blender, unfortunately they don't sell them any more..
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you
Amazon has a good selection. I bought a fancy one only because it was on sale for 20 bucks. Wished l'd went for a cheaper lighter one though
I am not a chemist or expert, but I wonder if ricing happens for different oils or butters that people use, your recipe obviously works! :)
That's a good question/ point.. Maybe that's why some have it and others don't??
And same with trace, it would be interesting to look into oils and butters that accelerate soap, I made a cement block I had to throw out once🤣
Ellen if I don't have lard can I use olive oil or tallow ? And would I still use 12.6 oz?
Thank-you.
If you sub an oil, you'll need to run the numbers thru soap calc to make sure your lye ratio is correct.

You may have some extra batter with my recipe, keep some little molds ready if you try it.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you- yes I always have some on standby and love that - again thank you!!
When you premix Titanium Dioxide, what percentage do you use? I would like to make a bottle ahead of time.
I do 1 part TD to 2 parts Water.
Another question. 🙋♀️Can you use the fragrance in soap that it's used in making hard candies?
Check with the supplier and make sure it's "skin safe"
@@EllenRuthSoap
thanks
Did you have any issues with scent fading? I haven’t found a minty scent that sticks!
Not with this one, it's still nice and strong.
Is there an issue shrink wrapping soap a long as end are open to help seal in the essential oils until they are sold or gifted? I used a hole puncher to puch holes in a couple of spots. Just wondering the pros/cons?
I do like the idea of a few holes so the bar can breath and continue to cure after it's wrapped..
Do you not sell your soaps anymore? I seen your shop was closed and was wondering if it was ever coming back?
I no longer sell retail, and don't plan to in the future.
Are you using high oleic sunflower oil ? And does it matter if it’s not ?
Yes, I'm using high oleic and it does help to not get DOS.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you, will have to look what dos means
Dreaded orange spots 🤣
What company is this fragrance from? I'm looking for a good eucalyptus and mint fragrance.
This one is from BeScented
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you so much.
What temperature do you soap at?
I like to soap around 80 degrees
Thank you for a prompt response. I always enjoy all your videos. Thank you for motivating us❤
What thickness do you cut at?
I cut at 1.25"
What does it mean to have ricing?
When an ingredient in the fragrance binds with some of the harder oil components in the recipe, it can form little rice-shaped lumps. Usually, you can stick blend the soap to smooth out the ricing.
@@EllenRuthSoap thanks for answering my question. Some of the other demonstrators don't.
What is your lye concentration?
roughly 33%
The Eucalyptus & Spearmint is a fragrance oil and not essential oils correct?
Essential oils are in glass or metal containers, so this one that she showed definitely is a fragrance oil.
Yes, this is a fragrance oil.
حبيبتي ماهي نسبه لاكتات الصوديوم
She tells in the video in teaspoon measurements 😊
1 tsp per lb of oils.
