The best explanation of how these units work so far - I have two of these units plus the controller but now I feel more confident as it was explained in a non rushed, understandable manner and not talking out the top of somebody's boots or through a scarf with two seconds to live! 5 Stars
I just got a set of these bad boys. I'm already regretting not getting 2 sets of the triggers. For their price it's hard to go wrong. A friend of mine got 3 speed lights, 4 triggers and the controller unit for the price he'd have paid for a single 600RT, which is a great piece of kit don't get me wrong, but first party gear ALWAYS has a crazy mark up when it comes to accessories. Like the £120 price tag for a tripod collar mount for the 100mm Macro. Seriously Canon, it's a damn rink clamp! It's 1/6th the price of the lens! It should come WITH the lens if you ask me, but I'm going off on a ranty tangent now lol. Back on topic. I like how simple these are to work out too. Of course being a man I looked at the manual and laughed maniacally and dived in head first. You mentioned a couple of things I didn't quite work out myself though like the 1/3 increments by hitting up and down. No idea why I didn't notice that one haha.
tpaynephoto awesome video. Best tutorial. I am bout to send back YN 565 EXII speedlight and YN622c controller. Got it for a week and can not get it work. As you advised, pressing all button in the same time reset the flash trigger YN 622C. It MAGICALLY WORK! So delighted and grateful of your video. Kudus Sir...thank you
Excellent! It's like you read my mind. Exactly the information I was looking for. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge. Thanks!
I have these arriving today, with the Yongnuo 685 flashes (xmitters included in flash). One thing I like about these videos, is that I always see some Hog Stuff in the back ground. Love my Razorbacks. I think we have the same desk as well. Great video, very informative.
Lovely informative video. I have a Canon 500d & Youngnou 568exii ETTL speed lite. I want to use the speed lite off camera. Do I need 2 of yn622c or one yn622c & a yn622 tx also ?
Appreciate the tips. Good breakout. I'm always surprised with UA-cam videos on photography that the 'author' does not have the lighting figured out, i.e. the most critical part of photography. For example the effectiveness of the video was degraded with the shots of the 622c-TX screen due to the glare of the lighting. Add to that the moving around of the transmitter. Perhaps have the 622c-TX fixed and test the lighting out before. As I said great points but for me the production issues took away from an otherwise excellent instructional video.
Thanks a zillion! I have 2 Canon Speedlites, 600EX and 430EXII. I was confused regarding how to use the Master and Slave units, but I see I don't need the master and slaves with this controller and triggers. Awesome!
Great vid! I use the 622C-TX, 622C AND YN565EX II, YN568EX II for extreme macro shooting w/ Canon 6D w/ MP-E 65mm 5:1 and a stackshot focus rail. I set it for say 100 stacks @ 5 sec. intervals and walk away, but maybe after 85 one of the flashes batteries dies, I wish there were a battery level on the flashes like the 622C-TX has so I could see which one died. Also, is there an external power source I could use, 14 batteries is a lot lol 6 x 2 + 2
Brilliant video mate - all killer - no filler. I know f**k all about flash and stills photography, though I used to be a clapper loader and focus puller in 35 and S16 film, but in 11 minutes you've given me all the information I was looking for. Nice one.
The non highspeed sync flash will work at over 1/250th - all the way up to 1/8,000th. I'd take the trigger off that non HSS flashgun and set it to S1 which is a built-in optical trigger on my YN560. Meanwhile my Canon 580EXll (one of your YN622 triggered flashguns in manual in high speed sync and set to full power. The very first section of flash fires the non HSS flash which is fairly slow compared to the 1/8,00th shutter and is almost finished going through it's normal full power blast as the shutter is closing. Line of sight is needed for outdoors but in a room there is no trouble at all. Full power manual on the HSS flash as there is a lot of light required (8,000 divide by 250 equals 32 tiny blips of light as the narrow gap of the shutter travels across the sensor). And full power on the non HSS flash so it fires long enough for the whole sensor to be exposed.
Thank you for an excellent tutorial. I do have a couple of questions about high speed sync which I have not found answers to, anywhere. The other way to set high speed sync is to push the Mode button until "SS" appears, which stands for "Super Sync." In this mode, how do we control the flash power? Is this a TTL mode? If we have two flashes, how can we change the rations of the two? The other question is: Pressing and holding on the Sync button brings up settings for Super Sync. There are three numbers there. What do they do? 3.0 seems to make the flash darker than 0.5 on the bottom set of numbers there. I find these two items very confusing. Sure hope you can help. Thank you!
Actually, I just got my 622-TX controller out. It is made for Nikon cameras. The third button over on the top row is labeled "AF/SS". Pressing it quickly turns the red focus-assist beams on and off. Pressing and holding it brings up three rows of items: top row, "01"; middle row, "SS"; bottom row, "2.1". The bottom number can be adjusted from 0.1 to 3.0 and there is an "AU" mode for Automatic. Do you have any idea what this menu does? Thank you!
Nice review. I just have a little awkward question. Do you know if the 622 tx will trigger the RF603 trigger if I have it on my secondary flash. So I am going to buy a yongnuo 685 flash and the 622 tx (comes together as a kit) . The 622 Tx will command the 685 flash. I know it will not make adjustments on the secondary flash that is on my old RF603 trigger.......I just want to know if it will trigger it......do you know?.....or in otherwords.....is the 622 tx commander compatible with the RF603? (they are both yongnuo as you may know).
Thanks for the video. I have 2 questions concerning Yn622tx and Yn685flash . Q1If I get a YN685, and a YN622 TX. I put my YN622TX on my camera, my YN685 flash on a stand. Attach 2 RF603 on 2 strobe lights, can I fire them all at the same time when I take a picture? And does my YN685 has to be on manual mode? Q2: For taking selfies with YN685, can I just hold a YN622TX and take pictures or do I have to leave YN622TX on the camera's hot shoe and get a camera remote??

Hi there. Great video. Wanna get the same set. I just wanna know can I use the YN568EX II as an full feature ON CAMERA flash on the Canon 5D Mark 2 body ???
G'day there, Thanks for the UA-cam Vid about these triggers. A quick ask about these, I've got a Canon 7D & 7D MkII, with YN568-EXII, I need to get the YN 622-TX and 622C to suit the Canon EOS. Can I use the 568 AND 600 in the same setup? I'm pretty sure I can, just wanted to ask as you seem to know a bit more than me as the setup's etc. Thanks, Kev.
Kev Hildebrandt yes, you can as long as you have a 622 attached to the 600. they use different radio frequency so the built in radio on the 600 isn't the same as the 622 radio frequency.
Hi Thank you for your greate explanation . What kind of flash yongnuo works best with the wireless flash controller Yongnuo YN622C-TX ? I have camera canon 5D ll , canon 550D and flash canon 580 EX . Please replay
+marathon you would be best getting the 622c starter kit which includes the controller (622c-tx) as well as a transceiver (622c) for your 580ex.. Then, when you are ready to add additional speedlights, Yongnuo now offers the YN685 which has the receiver for the 622c built into it. Here is a link to my website that has them available. www.yongnuoUSA.net
I use a Nikon d5300. Please I need your help. I have just bought a YN685 speed light, a YN622N transreciever and YN622N-TX. I want to use the YN685 speed light as my on camera flash and my Nikon SB 700 as my off camera flash using the Y622N and YN622-TN. Please what are the necessary steps to set this up.
Sometimes I am using only one flash and it switches from group A to Group B. I try to switch it back and when I hit test I can see it switch back to B. I just take the batteries out to reset the unit. But I would love to understand what is going on, so I can save time. This make the shoot loose momentum and the mood.
Hello. With this trigger you can shoot in the manual or does it only light in TTL? I wanted to buy this flash and I was told that you can't set the flash manually with this trigger, it only works in ttl mode. Is it also compatible with manual flashes? Thank you very much.
I have a Canon T5i and a YN568EX II, and I just received the YN622C-TX and YN622C. The HSS is not working right! I follow your settings but it doesn’t work with a shutter speed above 1/300. Any ideas? I want to shoot wide open in a sunny day.
juilian, Yes. you can use the 622's to trigger low voltage strobes such as Alien Bees, Einsteins etc.. DO NOT USE them with high voltage items like the Speedotron Brown line etc... I burned out a few of them trying to trigger pack lights like that..
just hook the 622 to the back of it using the AB sync cord, all ready to go, and you can actually super sync the AB strobe up to 1/4000 sec, not HSS but SS worked like a charm
Sounds easy but IT IS NOT WORKING FOR ME!!! Aaarrgghhh hahaha I'm so frustrated and I have no idea what is up! I have a 622C-TX on my cameras hot shoe and another one hooked up to my AB Einstein via a PC sync cord and it is NOT firing it! I tried using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to hook up the 622tx to the AB and it will actually fire it but about 1 second AFTER my shutter goes off, waaay out of sync! Any ideas friends?
Great video, I have question on the Nikon version, I just bought 2 of YB622N II and one YN622N-TX, the On/Off switch on "YB622N II " also has 603-RX and 622 position on it, I have googled it and they point to communication, can you explain what they are and how they are used on these devices?
I have a new Canon 80D and bout the 622C-TX and 622C trigger using a 568EX II, First few pics i took I was able to control the the 568EX settings via the 622C-TX but as of recent it will control the flash power output zoom via using the 622C-TX..Any suggestions guys ?
hi, do you know if the 622-TX will work with the YN-560III's? I have the 560-3's and a 560TX. I was curious if I could use my current 3 controllable speedlights as their own groups and just add TTL flashes and 622 triggers. I certainly can't see a way to make use of my 560TX and a 622TX at the same time.
couldn't you simply use optical trigger via the built-in flash (if the camera has it) and the bare 568 ex II without needing any triggers or transceivers?
I have a 622c-tx in hotshot of 5dmkiii. I have two 622c's on 430exii canon speed lights. Maybe its not possible to do what I want so I need some help...it seems to me if both of my 622c's are set to c1 and group A that they would both adjust to whatever I adjust group A to on the flash controller in the hotshoe. However, only one trigger is adjusting on the speed light. The other speed light will not adjust. Do I have to have them in separate groups? Seems like if somebody had 10 flashes they wanted to use and wanted 3 of them to be same power they could group them all in A. Am I wrong? Please help, thanks!
Is there a procedure for making the communication between flashes and TX's work? I am having reliability problems. I have a Yongnuo 565EX, a Canon 580 EX II and a Canon 600 RT. Often, one or the other flash won't work. Most often the Yongnuo flash won't work. Do you need for example,..... to hook up and turn on the trigger before the flash, then turn on the TX, then the camera ....that type of procedure? Does it make any difference the order?
***** make sure that your 600ex-rt isn't set to radio/master etc.. because that could cause interference with the radio frequency. The most important thing is, always make sure you have good batteries in the triggers. They are extremely sensitive to low powered batteries and you will quite often get a misfire etc when the batteries are low. Also, try resetting the trigger by holding down the buttons and powering it on when you do so. keep holding the buttons and the led light on the back will blink red/green once it goes to a solid color it is ready to go again. let me know if that helps.
hey i just bought the same system. I put my 2 yn600ex-rt to the triggers and the receiver to my canon 6d body. I put the flashes in M mode channel 1 and one flash group A and the other group B . When i try to change the mm and exposure(1/8)... i can change in only in one of two flashes, do you khow what should i check ?
Is it possible to fire a unleashed YN568EX II with YN622C II on the Canon EOS 50D? Is there an option that I don't need a second YN622C II with my YN568EX II?
The test shot works with the flashes (I can control their zoom, their intensity, their groups and channels), but when I want to take a photo they will not flash. What am I doing wrong? Oo... I can't make any adjustements in the flash menu of my camera (70D), as external flash/internal flash are not working when I want to use unleashed flashes. Do I miss something??
yes it will, as long as your camera and your speedlights support it. I have triggered regularly at 1/8000. I have triggered Alien Bees at 1/4000, I have heard of others triggering them at 1/8000, but I no longer own them so I can not attest to that. I now use the YN 300w studio strobes.
Im trying to trigger my Neewer NW985 speedlight, using two YN622N transcievers (one on camera and one on the OCF). Im getting only one flash photo, then the flash wont fire again until I turn it all off and back on. what am I doing wrong?
So I have a question! What's the difference between getting the Yongnuo 622-tx and 622 triggers vs getting the YN-E3-RT Wireless Transmitter? FYI I currently have 2 Yongnuo YN600ex-rt wireless Master Speedlites and the Yongnuo 622-tx Transmitter and 622 Triggers set. They work fine, just wanted to know if the wireless would be more suitable because you don't need the triggers orrrrr?
does these functionalities works in full regardless of having the built-in external flash control features? - wonder if it works ok with B type body such as EOS 1dMark2.
Thanks for your demonstration awesome video I have similar setup but am facing problem when triggering using yongnuo 622-tx my setup yongnuo 622-tx on 5d mark II yongnuo 622c on Canon 580ex II - CH1 Group A yongnuo 622c on yongnuo 568ex II - CH1 Group B yongnuo 622c on Elinchrom quadra ranger - CH1 Group C Initial setup for once am able to trigger all 3 lights but after a pause one of them didn't trigger at all am not able to change the zoon on yongnuo 568ex II (CH1 Group B) didnt trigger though the transceiver is receiving signals surprisingly . have anyone faced this problem ? I repeatedly tested by turing off and on the transceivers one by one but this time Canon 580ex II - CH1 Group A didnt triggers am i missing something here any known issues Please help this is driving me crazy .
try resetting the trigger by turning it on, without a speedlight attached. then, press and hold all of the buttons on the trigger until the led on the back flashes red. that will reset them. then, try your setup again...
veera perumal boominathan did the resetting help? Also, the 622 is very sensitive to low batteries, so if the batteries are low you will have intermittent problems like that.
Antonín Lavrenčík you can turn it off/on on the controller. Lets say you want to turn off group A. you simply press the GR button to get to group A, then you press the mode button until you see OFF on the screen. Then, there will be no signal sent to that group until you turn it back on. This is especially helpful when shooting weddings and events.
i recently purchased the 622c triggers, i did not purchase the controller (only own two flashes, my goal was to fill key light and back light.) however i find myself only being able to shoot in manual mode on the flashes. the triggers default to manual. my two flashes are the 430exii (ettl capabilities) and yonguno 560ii (manual only flash). with my 430exii mounted on the trigger with the trigger mounted on my body why is it i cannot have ettl on my body, and off camera my yonguno shooting in manual is this because i need the controller to set each group or am i only limited to manual controlling with these two triggers alone?
I am new to speedlights and trying to figure out what all I need to buy in order to run two speedlight, one on and one off the camera. If I use a 568 EX II on the camera as a master, do I still need to attach a 622 to it or other 568s to get them to sync?
Jeffrey Armstrong the 568exii can be used as a master flash. the capabilities require line of sight so that you they can 'see' each other. I prefer radio transmission, which is why I use the 622/622-tx. They work even if there are obstacles blocking the speedlights..to me, the reliability is key.. I would recommend getting a pair of 622c triggers..www.tpaynephotography.com/yongnuo-products
Hi can i ask may be a stupid question but will the wireless frequency work with other triggers, I have the Neewer 4 Channels Wireless/Radio and need an extra trigger to use on a second flash
+Nicky Anderson I believe they likely function on a different frequency range.. I have not come across other triggers that function with them. However, on the new version 622cII, they do have the 560-tx (rf603/605) receiver mode and can function with the 560-tx as well as the rf603 and rf605 triggers. yongnuousa.net/products/622cii-triggers-pair
I need help. I just purchased the yn568 ex speedlite with the yongnuo yn622n-tx with the yn622n i-ttl and I don't know why my flash settings won't change when I change it on my controller. I have the correct channel and group. I have the yn622-n ittl on group a and channel 1. Which my controller is also set to group a and channel 1. When I change the power to 1/8, the flash doesn't change. It doesn't match what is on my controller. I need advice please. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
+eamillama yes, you can share lights with another camera by using multiple controllers.. here is the video I made for Nikon users - ua-cam.com/video/TDl_2A6T8TE/v-deo.html
I recently purchased two Yongnuo 568EX II flashes and have been trying to use them with the Youngnuo YN622-C TX controller and YN622-C Trigger Transceiver. While the flashes are firing, I'm having two issues: (1) I am not seeing and difference in the flash power in manual mode - whether I set it to full power (1/1) or minimum power (1/128) it completely blows out any image and is seemingly firing at full power; and (2) when I set the controller to ETTL mode the flash is firing but not registering at all in the image. The captured image is lit strictly by the ambient light. This second problem seems like a sync issue. In fact, taking a picture of the flash unit (at 1/60 - not High-speed sync) captures the image of the flash unit without showing the flash firing. Any help is appreciated.
i have the yn560ii speedlite flash with a yn622c + the yn622c-tx on my on my 5dmarkiii but i can not get it to work with the second curtain i tried from the settings on my camera and from the yn622c-tx but i just can't get it to work any idea ?
I have a YN560ii and a yn622c and yn622c-tx, the 560ii is not compatible with the trigger and will this setup will only fire the flash not change any settings via the tx. I bought the YN685 with built in 622c triggers.
I have 2x622n 1x622n tx and yn568ex.. For about 2 days in nikon version .. If i push the mode button from remote for iTTL to Manual in every number like 1/1 or 1/128 then the flash unit 568ex not change on screen to manual.. Is all the time in iTTL mode. The power of light is the right at any pics i get.. But in sceen don't show me the modes that change from remote..
The Nikon flash works in a different way to the Canon, the flash should be set to i-TTL with correct group & channel selected then all other functions are done on the 622n-tx, unfortunately the settings dialled into the tx module do not show on the LCD screen of the corresponding flash unit but when triggered the changes are registered in the flash output. Hope that makes sense. You can't see on the flash the changes but they are done.
Yes, the changes I made on 622 tx on my nikon d7100 didnt show up in the display of my flashes connected to 622n. but eventually the changes took effect when i fire my flashes. kinda strange but it works anyway.
I have the same situation with my Nikon D7100 and although it works perfectly, the video shows that I should see the changes that I make but that doesn't happen. I think this is because the Nikon Lighting system works in a different way from Canon etc and this is why it has to be on ITTL and so it doesn't show the changes.
which camera body are you using? are you in my OCF facebook group? it is much easier to communicate there if you would like to join it is facebook.com/groups/speedlightfundamentals
Hello I have an SB700 and the 622nTX system. When i shoot in manual or ITTL i can shoot past 1/250 and no black band. However, when i engage the SS mode (supposedly for HSS) i get the black band anywhere past 1/250. I do have 1/250 auto FP selected. I suspect the menu on mine is backwards when it comes to HSS or am i missing something? pls help I need to solve this. Sad to say the manual sucks-I get a headache when I read it due to the poor english translation Yongnuo used.
So what am I doing wrong? My TX will set off my flash, but will make no changes to my flash. I can change the settings for power on my controller all day, but the settings on my flash stay the same...

Thanks Tim, best explanation I've heard yet.
Many thanks for posting this, very much appreciated. Have just bought some of these and your video is a big help.
Thanks ! I tought that the 568II had radio trigger inside the flash, so no use for a external trigger. I will check for newer YN models
YN685 has built in YN622 triggers.

Pressing and holding it brings up three rows of items: top row, "01"; middle row, "SS"; bottom row, "2.1". The bottom number can be adjusted from 0.1 to 3.0 and there is an "AU" mode for Automatic. Do you have any idea what this menu does? Thank you!
Why do we need a trigger on each speedlite? Don't these yongnuo have a built-in receiver? Thank you for the video
i like this video...now i want buy a younuo 568II and yn 622C...do you have a video on how uto set up the camera?i have canon 600D
Just bought these flashes thanks for a really clear explanation!
Maggie Mei Jie Li, assuming you have Canon with N3 Port.
Q1: YN622C TX on camera, YN685 in wireless radio slave in manual mode
1st & 2nd YN622C with PC Sync Cables to monolights
If you do not put speelite into manual, speedlite will do a pre-flash.
And this will set off those two monolights early, resulting underexposed
Q2: YN622 TX on camera
1st YN603C with Canon SR-N3 Speedlite Release Cable (1st YN603 to
camera's N3 Port)
YN685C set into wireless rado ETTL II slave mode.
2nd YN603C in your hand, to be used, as remote camera control AF and
camera shutter trigger
Buy two Yongnuo YN622C II
Buy two Male to Male PC Sync Cables
Buy two Yongnuo YN603C II
Buy one Yongnuo YN622C TX
Buy one Canon SR-N3 Speedlite Release Cable
Great tutorial, thank you for sharing, saved me having to read the Manual!
Hi
Thank you for your greate explanation .
Hi great review! Will these work with all Canon ex flashes on manual?Or just ETTL
Paul Thompson Hi Paul. On canon, they work on both manual and ETTL. Only on Nikon, they just work on ETTL. Hope that helps.
Cheers Usama
Initially you set it up for ETTL...but when you looked again it was on Manual? did you make the change?
or did it do it automatically?
Hope all is well! Was wondering if I could use this for a TT 520 speedlite? My mode are manual, S1, S2? I heard you mention TTL. thx
I am shooting a wedding in a VFW call, dark and wanted to get your suggestion for what power to start at and zoom to start at?
thank you very informative the mkii is out now which I will be buying
Nice job on the video, very informative very easy to follow.
thanks!
CAN I FIRE THE CAMERA'S SHUTTER IF THE YONGNUO FLASH IS ATTACHED TO 622C AND CANON 7D MARK II AND HAVING 622C TX IN MY HAND 10 FEET AWAY FROM CAMERA?
Thank you for this video this is exactly what I was looking for. Cheers
Shifty761989 Thanks! Glad it helped!
great vid!
do you know if they make these for pentax dslrs?
john opilac unfortunately, they are only for Canon or Nikon at the present time.
appreciate it
Do I need to buy a tx to change the power remotely of the flash? As I only have these set of triggers.
juilian, Yes. you can use the 622's to trigger low voltage strobes such as Alien Bees, Einsteins etc.. DO NOT USE them with high voltage items like the Speedotron Brown line etc... I burned out a few of them trying to trigger pack lights like that..
+tpaynephoto How do you setup the 622 to fire the Alien Bees? Do you have video on that?
just hook the 622 to the back of it using the AB sync cord, all ready to go, and you can actually super sync the AB strobe up to 1/4000 sec, not HSS but SS worked like a charm
I put the tx in ss mode and hooked the reciever into the back set my camera to 320sp and it synced up to 1/4000
what is 320sp??
What flash mode doe the camera itself have to be set in. TTL, Manual or commander?
I'd like to know the answer to this as well Tim. Thanks...
Great video, I have question on the Nikon version, I just bought 2 of YB622N II and one YN622N-TX, the On/Off switch on "YB622N II " also has 603-RX and 622 position on it, I have googled it and they point to communication, can you explain what they are and how they are used on these devices?
1AtlantaKid the 603rx setting simply allows you to use the 622nii or 622cii with the 560-tx controller. It operates on the rf603 trigger frequency..
Will these work with my two Canon 430ex flashes?
Can these flashes be put on the shoe of the camera and be recognized by camera and used as ttl? I have YN568EXII - i bought from you.
hey i just bought the same system.
Can you fire the 568 EXII by itself with the YONGNUO YN-622C-TX on camera ?
I love how these flashes sound like an old nintendo game when you turn them on.
c0pyimitati0n lol.. that zoom motor is loud isn't it?
Is it possible to fire a unleashed YN568EX II with YN622C II on the Canon EOS 50D? Is there an option that I don't need a second YN622C II with my YN568EX II?
The test shot works with the flashes (I can control their zoom, their intensity, their groups and channels), but when I want to take a photo they will not flash. What am I doing wrong? Oo... I can't make any adjustements in the flash menu of my camera (70D), as external flash/internal flash are not working when I want to use unleashed flashes. Do I miss something??
I was really hoping to see you take a picture and see all 3 flashes go off.
c0pyimitati0n In the future I will make a video for you and have 4 or 5 flashes go off at the same time...;)
tpaynephoto will this work with HSS?
yes it will, as long as your camera and your speedlights support it. I have triggered regularly at 1/8000. I have triggered Alien Bees at 1/4000, I have heard of others triggering them at 1/8000, but I no longer own them so I can not attest to that. I now use the YN 300w studio strobes.
Hi. Will yn 622c tx work with yn 622c II triggers?
Im trying to trigger my Neewer NW985 speedlight, using two YN622N transcievers (one on camera and one on the OCF). Im getting only one flash photo, then the flash wont fire again until I turn it all off and back on. what am I doing wrong?
can this trigger be used for a combination of sb700 & Nisssin di 866 mark ii flashes. Kindly clear my doubt. Thanks
I MA NOT SURE BUT I THINK YOU CANT SHOOT AT HSS TO 1/8000 AND YUO CANT USE TTL MODE EITHER
I have the exact same setup and I am currently looking for the answer to this same question, did you ever get an answer?
Can you do HSS with those YN565EX and that Trigger? I just got that trigger today and I think they sent me the wrong one. I think I need the YN622N
+Dave C Ok, you answered my question I need to upgrade to the 568EX flashes. the Controller YN622C does HSS just not my flashes...
does these functionalities works in full regardless of having the built-in external flash control features? - wonder if it works ok with B type body such as EOS 1dMark2.
+im4ubabe yes.. they work with both types.
Thanks a lot for the answer.
Thanks for your demonstration awesome video I have similar setup but am facing problem when triggering using yongnuo 622-tx
my setup
yongnuo 622-tx on 5d mark II
yongnuo 622c on Canon 580ex II - CH1 Group A
yongnuo 622c on yongnuo 568ex II - CH1 Group B
yongnuo 622c on Elinchrom quadra ranger - CH1 Group C
Initial setup for once am able to trigger all 3 lights but after a pause one of them didn't trigger at all am not able to change the zoon on yongnuo 568ex II (CH1 Group B) didnt trigger though the transceiver is receiving signals surprisingly . have anyone faced this problem ?
I repeatedly tested by turing off and on the transceivers one by one but this time Canon 580ex II - CH1 Group A didnt triggers am i missing something here any known issues
Please help this is driving me crazy .
try resetting the trigger by turning it on, without a speedlight attached. then, press and hold all of the buttons on the trigger until the led on the back flashes red. that will reset them. then, try your setup again...
thks will try this appreciate
veera perumal boominathan did the resetting help? Also, the 622 is very sensitive to low batteries, so if the batteries are low you will have intermittent problems like that.
Thank you - nice video - well explained!
thanks a lot just one question how do I trigger just one group without swithching off the flash manually? Thanks a lot. Tony
Hi, That Is What I Need IT for ... Thanks
Glad I could help.
Can we have morw than 1 flash in 1 group... Say in group A xan we hav 2 to 3 flashes...
Great video, thanks man 👍🙌
pls is this speedlite and triggers compatible with canon 80d...I will need two of that and the trigger pls
i recently purchased the 622c triggers, i did not purchase the controller (only own two flashes, my goal was to fill key light and back light.) however i find myself only being able to shoot in manual mode on the flashes. the triggers default to manual. my two flashes are the 430exii (ettl capabilities) and yonguno 560ii (manual only flash). with my 430exii mounted on the trigger with the trigger mounted on my body why is it i cannot have ettl on my body, and off camera my yonguno shooting in manual is this because i need the controller to set each group or am i only limited to manual controlling with these two triggers alone?
check the in camera setting. I have another video that shows how to use them with the in camera menu system on my channel.
I would recommend getting a pair of 622c triggers..www.tpaynephotography.com/yongnuo-products
tpaynephoto Thanks! Is it possible to mix the 568 EX II with other speedlights, such as a Neewer?
Jeffrey Armstrong Yes, you can mix them with other ttl capable speedlights if you want to.
Can these be used to trigger strobes and mono blocks?
+B. Bulauitan Here is my video on how to use the nikon version - ua-cam.com/video/TDl_2A6T8TE/v-deo.html
Thanks, this was really helpful!
sir even I brought yn 622N kit ittl and yn568ex2 but I can't control it by manually need help
Does the 560-II do HSS? Also can do TTL with this flash? I have the YN560-II and YN568-II.
the 560-ii is a manual flash only that is not capable of hss
Can I use the 622 trigger or transreceivers to fire the YN603c with my manual Youngnou flashes?
thanks, very neat and informative!
Very informative.. useful 👍🏻
How can we request a video on the features not covered here if we don't know what they... are as you failed to mention them!!!
Great tutorial
The receivers say support for 622 and 560-RX. Will the receiver work in HSS with a canon 430exII?
+Chris Lee yes they will
Hi tpaynephoto, i have question. Is it possible to have 2 Triggers and 3 Transreceivers because I have 2 Nikon bodies.
+eamillama yes, you can share lights with another camera by using multiple controllers.. here is the video I made for Nikon users - ua-cam.com/video/TDl_2A6T8TE/v-deo.html
Any idea if you can get the camera to fire the 622C TX connected via a cable (ie. not using the hotshoe)?
yes.. if your camera has a pc sync plug, you can connect the pc sync cord to the tx and it will fire...
Light assist shows its enabled in the trigger menu but doesn't seem to work.
The cam is a 1d mk 3. Every thing else works just fine. any thoughts?
william wyrick have you tried resetting it?
tpaynephoto
I figured it out. I set the metering mode to Evaluative and it started working. Thanks for the reply.
also, it won't work if you have the focus mode in AI Servo.
+Ralph Somma I just responded on the other video..
+tpaynephoto which one is it? as I'm having same problems
What mode was your built in controller for flash on the camera set to?
Can I trigger YN560-III using this 622tx with 622 receivers?
how many flashes can be controlled by this system? You have A, B and C groups. Can you place several flashes within each group?
Yes you can.
Great video. Thanks
I heard somewhere that there are Yongnuo flashes with internal recievers, is that right ? and if so do they work with this controller. Thanks
Remo Fiore Some of the models do have internal receivers. unfortunately, they have their own controllers and wont work with this particular one.
So this only works with speedlights that have TTL and wouldn't work with my YN560II's?
+Myke D Needs to be a TTL capable speedlight, otherwise there's no communication between the 622 and the speedlight.
+Myke D correct
i have the yn560ii speedlite flash with a yn622c + the yn622c-tx on my on my 5dmarkiii but i can not get it to work with the second curtain i tried from the settings on my camera and from the yn622c-tx but i just can't get it to work any idea ?
I have a YN560ii and a yn622c and yn622c-tx, the 560ii is not compatible with the trigger and will this setup will only fire the flash not change any settings via the tx. I bought the YN685 with built in 622c triggers.
Can you use 2nd Curtain Sync with this trigger.
Yakntoro Udoumoh Never mind. You answered my question in the latter part of the video. Thank you.
Is there a light meter that will trigger Yongnuo 622C's? I'm looking at Sekonic but it appears they will only trigger Pocket Wizards.
+Preston W. not that I am aware of at this time
Does it work with nikon d7200??
What flash settings do you have on the camera? I seem to be having an issue with it.
On canon you enable external flash control in the flash menu.
I made it that far, it's the settings within that menu.
which camera body are you using? are you in my OCF facebook group? it is much easier to communicate there if you would like to join it is facebook.com/groups/speedlightfundamentals
OOrtiz87 did you get it working?
Hello I have an SB700 and the 622nTX system. When i shoot in manual or ITTL i can shoot past 1/250 and no black band. However, when i engage the SS mode (supposedly for HSS) i get the black band anywhere past 1/250. I do have 1/250 auto FP selected. I suspect the menu on mine is backwards when it comes to HSS or am i missing something? pls help I need to solve this. Sad to say the manual sucks-I get a headache when I read it due to the poor english translation Yongnuo used.
Francisco Ortega I think Nikon kicks into HSS automatically when using these as long as the camera is set to Auto FP
Wait...you can't use these in manual mode on a Nikon?
yes you can. it's just a little different. here's my video on the nikon system. ua-cam.com/video/TDl_2A6T8TE/v-deo.html
+tpaynephoto Thank you!
So what am I doing wrong?
My TX will set off my flash, but will make no changes to my flash.
I can change the settings for power on my controller all day, but the settings on my flash stay the same...
rachel ganus There could be several issues. Join my OCF group on facebook and i can help you better. facebook.com/groups/speedlightfundamentals
rachel ganus Did you get your issue figured out?
Netter than and manual, thanks a lot.
thanks they work
