Tip on the mask: If you are using a proper respirator (which is what you really need for painting),store it in a sealed bag. Filter cartridges can only filter a certain amount of air and the sealed container stops it from just filtering the air while unused and shortening the life span.

Lovely stuff. I've been thinking of doing a partscaster and haven't decided whether to finish the body myself or grab one off eBay etc, as a fellow brit where you keep the guitar to avoid the rain whilst the paint dries?

Top guy. Why can Brits tell you everything you need to know in a 6 mins vid when Yanks do the same but in 29 ! 😄🇬🇧

Nice action. My guitartech made me a solid telecaster spruce body, he said its a 2-component "nitro" laquer. Im not an expert, but i realise that its pretty soft, even after 2 months after spraying. You can literary leave your finger nail markf in a surface when you push harder. Is that normal? Should i spray maybe one coat os "something" to protect that fragile surface?

Same deal with the mask and ventilation removing Poly finishes.Keep in mind that there are zero controls and materials oversight in China and Indonesia, so the actual materials used are a crap shoot. The dust and off gassing , - especially with heat or chemical removal, - can have health consequences.
As suggested here, it's not the part to fudge or try to get around; it can be problematic providing the right temp and outdoor ventilation conditions, but it's the only way to go.
If you see demos with people not using these precautions, it's a good sign that they don't know what they're doing.

Hi, did the nitro take well to the poly keyed (non stripped) surface? Did you spray the nitro colour straight onto the keyed poly (no sealer)? Looks very good.

You can use nitro over poly but not the other way around.
The nitro dries, while poly chemically cures; so the poly won't bond properly over nitro.
I've successfully used nitro clear coats over poly paint finishes as I think the lower gloss and final appearance is superior.

is it dangerous to keep a nitro guitar inside while it cures? as far as the fumes?

I leave them outside in my shed for a month to be sure. The fumes make me feel quite ill
