Hiya, if you check the video at about 18mins in, you'll see me sorting out the wiring to the camera, which I mounted just above the rear number plate, with the wiring coming out from behind the number plate light. I think the camera can be mounted with 3M pad and/or screws. Hope that helps 😊
Great vid!, Can I ask if you had the dreaded flashing mileage and date / time problem? , I’ve read so much regarding aftermarket head units I’m scared to have a go!! Cheers Si
Hiya, thanks for the comment. I've not had any problems like that with this unit. And it's a budget unit, so you might expect some issues, but no. Only gripe is not remembering my sat nav and audio volume settings every time I turn the engine off. The finishing trim sometimes wobbles a bit lose, too, but I could solve that easily if it really bothered me 😁
Perseverance and going through the pain barrier with numerous injuries and by Jove you’ve done it ! Was the camera cable long enough? Many thanks for sharing.
Perfect timing, I've just bought an Android radio. I wasn't going to use the reverse camera option, as I have one like yours over the mirror. I was worried about cutting that off by using it on the stereo - was that an issue for you?
Hi Steve, it wasn't an issue for me. I guess they both kick in once the reverse light power comes on, but they both work independently on my set up. The extra angle is useful, but I'm going to add after market sensors at some point. 😀
a great install little tip tape up the rca yellow red connectors under the rear bumper as they can work loose with motorhome movement great vid looks like a good bit offkit all the best donny
does the atoto turns on automatically when you start the car? I do not want that, because i drive almost all the time in town, so i would know if is there an option to turn it on manually only when i need it for longer travels.
Hi, sorry I missed this. Mine does turn on automatically. Whether it can be set not to turn on, I don't know, sorry. Their support is very good, so you could contact them if you haven't already. Good luck! 👍
Guy's I am considering buying one of these after watching your video, has it remained reliable a year on, and when you installed it, did it upgrade the sound quality in the speakers or where they the same as before?
Hi, it's still going strong for a budget-end touchscreen. I haven't sorted out the speakers yet so can't answer that question, sorry. My only gripe has always been that the sat navigation voice defaults to low each time the unit is restarted, rather than remembering where it was when last used. It can be raised again via the unit or the steering wheel control while the voice navigation is speaking. Our at least that's how I do it! Hope the video was useful. Daz 😊
@@EscapeintheMotorhome Thank you Daz for your reply, " Navigation voice defaults to Low " does that mean you have to just turn the volume up each time you restart navigation??
Thanks for the comment. The van came with one really high up on the back looking down at the ground, but also at the bike rack. Good for some parking situations. With this extra camera, I wanted a number plate level view looking straight back, so I could see everything behind me that was more than 2 metres away. My new dascam also has a rear camera looking out of the rear window from inside, but this one is recording! Overkill maybe, but a bump could mean hundreds in repair costs. Sadly I still managed to bend my back rack while in France 😂
Hi, have you got any opinions on this having now owned it for several months ? Cheers ( cheeky ask as you may have mentioned it in one or more of your travel vids )
Hiya, it's still working well for me. Picks up my phone and whatever I had paused on my music app without needing help. No touchscreen faults. Tested the R button on the remote for reverse camera yesterday, something someone mentioned having an issue with, and mine came on fine. I think my only complaint is my volume setting isn't saved, so I have to increase music and sat nav volume each time I start the van. New speakers needed to replace the vans papier-mache ones😄 also, I've been fitting an amazing dashcam that has 3 cameras, including another reverse one, so I now have 3 reversing cameras! You can't have too many 😂 that video will be out soon. 😊
@@EscapeintheMotorhome , thanks for the reply. Am looking at this brand though after the 9" or 10" screen to replace a double din Pioneer unit which does not have DAB or Bluetooth, so your install review has been useful.
you brought back the nightmare that was fitting mine-though mine was one of those 12 inch monster tesla style screens which was a pain to fit. It looks great now but was a nightmare and I never want to fit another. Good job! Bessy regs-Kenny
Im having a problem with my reverse camera ,when i put it in reverse the cMera works but when i press the r camera on my carset its telling me no video can you help me out on this thanks.
Hi Robert, sorry to hear it's not behaving. I've not had that problem yet myself. Have you tried their support? Sounds obvious I know, but a couple of questions I had were solved quickly through their support system. Hope you get it solved quickly. 👍
@robertmapp6506 I think that was the plan, however to give it power when not in reverse gear, perhaps it had its own power via it's cable. It's so long ago that I can't quite recall, sorry. It should all be in the instructions. Good luck 👍
Hiya, we had no complaints with it around France. It sits alongside other non-traditional brands in the 'budget' price range. My only complaint is having to reset the navigation volume every time we turn on the engine. It doesn't remember it and the default is only something dogs can hear! 😁
Am watching again, although my fitting won't be the same as it's a slightly different dash. Have bought the A7XE (with DAB) today, hopefully get to look at thinking about wondering about installing it on Saturday.
Hiya, the sound has always been awful. A look behind the door panel and you see why. Speakers half the size of the hole they're in and cheap. I'm researching some better ones. 🙂
Impressive work on Stampy yet again.
Thanks Archie!
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm am planning to fit one.

I've just found the audio settings screen in the settings menu, have turned up navigation volume there, but switched off and on, and it reset 🙃
