Why do a lot of modern british flipper bots have their piston rams seperate from the flipper? Older flipper bots like Chaos 2 had their pistons rammed bolted to the flipper and they worked just fine.
Basically it’s to do with the transfer of power. When the ram is connected, some of its power is used to move the ram during firing. In the modern system, all the power goes into the flip.
@@TeamIronclads What if the bungie cords fail, leaving the flipper to open wide enough to strand the bot on it's back or not close and leave the bot without a weapon as the result of not bolting the rams to the flipper?
