The NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE between the level of precision between just the 2021 and 2022 records has me absolutely in awe. I don't think I can physically MT like that for 10 seconds straight under any circumstances. This is an art form that becomes more beautiful when you realize just how damn hard it is. Thank you Abel. Not familiar with MKDS Time Trials. What are the best karts to use? I see a lot of Egg 1, ROB-BLS, and some Dry Bomber and I don’t know what makes one better than the other.
Nowadays it's mostly between the Egg 1 and ROB-BLS and it depends on the track and the kind of terrain/corners you're working with. Egg 1 is the best all-rounder in terms of stats and works well for tracks like DK Pass where its decent speed and good handling can navigate the rough terrain and difficult corners. ROB-BLS has the highest speed stat at the expense of poor handling - so it wouldn't be able to handle that track. Dry Bomber has better handling than the Egg 1 and ROB-BLS, but lacks in speed.
How did you get the characters and karts unlocked in the save file with the world records? I looked at it and the only cups it says have been completed are some mirror cups but all the characters and karts are unlocked
Thanks! Practice the perfect start boost on SNES Mario Circuit 1 and start mini turboing in quick succession over the sand. You can also practice PRB restart on GCN Luigi Circuit by mini turboing off the boost panel. Watch this guide: ua-cam.com/video/lxsLwWh5_ZQ/v-deo.html
The skill level is insane. I'm now trying my hardest to get under 1:28 on this track...your timing has to be perfect and you gotta PNB the whole track.
@@fin183 Something is telling me he means Figure 8 Circuit. If so, for a sub 1:28 it's not necessary to PRB in the slightest and your timing can be off multiple times for just a sub 1:28
@@fin183 use the Egg1 for your level. F8C without prb is literally without offroad, so the Dry Bomber will just slow you down because of its horrendous top speed, whereas the Egg1 has way more top speed. And also, the Egg1 still has a good enough mt duration and handling to be great for low leveled players on F8C. Try it out next time :)
PRB...Prolonged Rocket Boost. It's a technique where you have to keep the maximum speed at all times otherwise you'll slow down. In order to achieve this, you have to chain your drifts perfectly. It's a pain but so satisfying to achieve

Fast MTs are fairly easy imo. The hard part is maintaining PRB
@@fin183 that's what I mean. RMC1 is great practice though. It's maintaining frame+angle perfect that is so hard

pro players get used to snaking to such an extent, where it doesn't hurt their thumbs anymore. It just takes a while to get to this point

@@PolishKuba459 yeah that's true. My best is 1:26:883 and I didn't PRB. I just used the dry bomber and tried to MT whenever possible
