- This video features my field recording of a serene autumn day in the forest, complete with chirping birds and rustling leaves. To fully appreciate the sound quality, I recommend using headphones.
In addition, I've included an audio spectrum (20 Hz - 8000 Hz) for a more detailed visualization of the recording. For optimal sound recording, I utilized the ZOOM H5 recorder, which boasts 24-bit / 96 kHz settings and high-quality LOM USI PRO microphones. The footage was captured with my Panasonic S5 camera.
My content is ideal for ASMR enthusiasts like me who are seeking relaxing sounds for meditation, sleep, or study, and provides an authentic nature experience from the comfort of my own home.

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback!
amazing soundscape and recording****Love it*
Thank you! Appreciate the feedback!
just bought my zoom H5 and started to record city ambient counds. It is great tool
Hello. Yes, it is a great tool for field recordings, and it sounds great! Good luck with your projects on the channel!
@@naturesoundsrecord Great Job and thanx. Really into it
Well done. Thank You!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful
Thank you very much!
that noise that comes with such sensitive microphones feels unwanted in my ears. I think it would not be so prevelant to ones ears.
Maybe I oversee something.
The sounds from far away are so detailed! lovely
Thanks for the upload!
I would have preferred it to be quiet in the forest, not to blow the wind, and for the birdsong to be clear, yes, it is a bit disturbing but it is the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves. Thank you very much for your comment!
@@naturesoundsrecord
yhea it is what it is. could it be that the leaves are such great detail that it turns into this noise, or is it compression on youtubes side? picking up Lom usi pro's later this week, secondhand .
@@begligow402 These microphones have exceptionally low noise and high sensitivity they are especially useful for recording delicate sounds and environments. They are really clean when recording sound, if you were to make recordings in a noiseless environment you would understand how good these microphones are, even in a room where you would say it is very quiet there would be noise due to the PC fan. Of course, the preamplifiers from the recorder also come into play and can add noise. Now it depends on what recordings you want to make, but I say that you will be satisfied with the quality and by editing you can reduce the frequencies that you don't like. If you have time, you can view some of my videos, as almost all of them are made with these microphones, and you may find some of the answers. Thanks!
@@naturesoundsrecord Is it just wind on the mics themselves rather than in the trees? Anyway, still lovely and honesty quite surprised at the H5s abilities in ambient.
@@thekarmafarmer608 The white noise is the wind in the leaves, i can't discern any self-noise from the mics in this but there is a strong compression, i don't know if its youtube or if he's set the compression setting on the H5 or simply in post but it's quite too much
lovely audio, thank you!
Thank you very much!
wonderful, like it!
Thank you for watching!
Nice. Lucky guy to have the LOM. Getting a pair of them is like winning the lotto these days. Their last batch sold out in like 2 minutes or less. I may stop waiting and go for the Clippy instead.
Yes you are right! With difficulty and maybe luck I got them, maybe a pair comes in stock and they are bought immediately. Thank you for your comment!
Clippy has the same specs too. I was looking at the xlr em272 stereo dual.
@@icecorebaby
Yes, I think LOM uses the same em272 capsules.
Beautiful. Would you mind telling me about your tripod and stereo bar? I just bought an F3 and I’m thinking about a set up like this.
Thank you very much! Please check the video description below for an Amazon affiliate link to the Stereobar, which is the exact model I use. Unfortunately, I don't have a link for the tripod as it was purchased from AliExpress.
@@naturesoundsrecord Ok thank you!
Niicee! :D
Thanks! 😉
Love it. What did you use to add the audio spectrum to the video?
Thanks so much for your viewing and commenting! From Premiere Pro you send video with audio to Adobe After Effects and there comes the magic, it's harder to explain here but you can find many tutorials on youtube and it's not complicated at all.
@@naturesoundsrecord Thank you. I use DaVinci Resolve and found a way to do it using Reactor in Fusion.
Very nice
Thank you very much!
good sound very clean can I ask how you added the green wave band lines?
Thanks so much for your viewing and commenting! It's called audio spectrum. From Premiere Pro you send video with audio to Adobe After Effects and there comes the magic, it's harder to explain here but you can find many tutorials on youtube and it's not complicated at all. I am sorry for the late answer.
Is that constant hiss from the ambient sounds (leafs, wind etc) or is it the effects of the noisy preamps on this recorder?
Thank you very much for your comment. It is the ambient sound of the wind, leaves, planes and tractors working on the field near the forest even if they are a few km away, you can hear during the recording that in some moments it is quieter and in others noisier. (I think an airplane passes by at the beginning of the recording). The Zoom H5 preamplifiers have pretty good internal noise (if the H5 preamplifiers were noisy, they couldn't be used for interviews in a room, for example). LOM microphones have very low self-noise.
Really interesting!!! I'd like to try it in my wildlife adventures videos
Hello! I think you want the sound from this video.
@@naturesoundsrecord Sorry, I meant that I'd like to try recording natural sound like that, but I don't have equipments like that. Maybe it's quite expensive, or hard to use it.
@@GiuseppeGessa Ok, I'm sorry I misunderstood! I use satisfactory entry level equipment and it is not very expensive, these microphones are hard to find to buy. The equipment is not difficult to use but you will have to allocate extra time to be able to make recordings in addition to everything you do on the field. I subscribed to your channel ;)
@@naturesoundsrecord Really??? Thanks mate, I really appreciate it. Thanks for the explanations, and if I can, maybe in future, I'll ask you something about nature sound recording.
@@GiuseppeGessa With pleasure! Yes, when you have a question you can ask me and I will try to answer. Thanks
What kind of post editing did you apply to the audio?
I only make adjustments in Fabfilter Pro Q to usually reduce the annoying low frequencies. In this recording I lowered 2.5 dB around the frequency of 50 Hz and raised 2.2 dB around the frequency of 4000 Hz, it is a small difference from RAW.
Wow thats pristine. I have h8 but I cant get any pristine ambiance with xhy6.
Thank you very much, you need dedicated omnidirectional microphones to get a clear ambient sound, XYH 6 are unidirectional, generally record the sound coming from the front.
@@naturesoundsrecord what technical stats we need to look for in high quality omni microphones
@@ssa9382 Omnidirectional microphones must have high sensitivity and low self noise. I attach a link with my microphones that are not very expensive for the quality offered. store.lom.audio/products/usi-pro?variant=4542168039456
Man, those recording are so clean and well balanced.
Do you need to do much corrections and/or adjustments post-recording?
I only make adjustments in Fabfilter Pro Q to usually reduce the annoying low frequencies. In this recording I lowered 2.5 dB around the frequency of 50 Hz and raised 2.2 dB around the frequency of 4000 Hz, it is a small difference from RAW. In some cases, I leave RAW recording. I don't use noise reduction plugins in my recordings. I apologize for giving this answer to someone else, but this is the particular correct answer on this clip and mostly on all my recordings on this channel. Thank you very much!
@@naturesoundsrecord
Thanks for the swift reply.
There is the little bit of adjustment to try and hit that sweat spot.
I should try out a recording with two condenser as well on the H5.
Keep up the great work!
@@mindtheambience2569 Yes, with two condenser microphones for example as I have it will be a blast of sounds compared to the Zoom H5 microphones.

👍🏻me too! Thank you!
Do you walk away from your equipment or stay with it, when recording?
Yes or not, it depends on the circumstances.
good job
Thank you!
@@naturesoundsrecord Forest sound is calming
@@4kRealSound Yes, you are right.
I really like this device, but man the preamp is noisy!
Hello, thanks for the comment! In this video, the noise is made by the wind blowing through the leaves in the forest and I don't think it's from the preamps, I don't want to say that the H5 preamps are perfect, but in this case, they have no influence on the noise made by the wind. Thanks!
What do you think about Rode NT5 compared to Uzi Pro?
I did not use Rode NT5 and a comparison between them I can not give. By construction they are different because Rode NT5 are cardioid microphones that take the sound from the front and side, they were created for recording musical instruments, those from LOM are omnidirectional and take the sound from all directions equally and they were created for ambient recordings and sounds delicate. LOM microphones are more sensitive than the Rode NT5 (-28 dB vs -38 dB), maybe you know all that. It depends on what you want to use them for. If I were to record an interview, vlog, musical instruments, or a river sound I would definitely go on NT5 and if I were to record the ambiance in the forest or the ambiance in the city I would go with LOM USI pro. Thanks so much for the comment.
Nice vids on this channel, I do hear a level of noise in your recording, maybe:
1. you're recording it too loud or
2. there's some noise pollution around you or,
3. you've processed it too much or
4. the self noise of the recorder isn't suited for low noise ambience
Thank you very much for your comment. I'm sure it's (2. there's some noise pollution around). It is the ambient sound of the wind, leaves, planes and tractors working on the field near the forest even if they are a few km away, you can hear during the recording that in some moments it is quieter and in others noisier. (I think an airplane passes by at the beginning of the recording).
@@naturesoundsrecord yeah it's so hard these days to get away from noise pollution, happens to me too on a recent recording. But are you processing the recordings at all?
@@CreativeRamy I do not apply any filter over the recordings. In some cases I make small changes, just cut from the low frequencies which are very annoying and maybe raise some high frequencies. Below in the comments to Tibi S. I wrote a little more detailed what I changed in this recording. Yes, it is very difficult to find very quiet areas and where you find you can't really record the sound for more than 15 minutes because you can hear planes.
@@naturesoundsrecord yeah it's pretty sad isn't it that sometimes we don't have anywhere close to enjoy nature without pollution, or need to drive out hours to get something recordable
