The microphones on the Zoom H5 are unidirectional, meaning they primarily capture sound coming from the front. This is different from omnidirectional microphones, which pick up sound from all directions.

In the same way, I like more how Lom Usi Pro sounds in this situation. Thank you very much!

Thank you for your comment. I think that the beauty of the sound is in the ear of the listener who decides which is better. Over time I realized that recording the sound of a river is better with the microphones from the H5 than with the Usi Lom Pro because it adds a lot of white noise but in this case I like the Lom microphones but surely if they were positioned in another place change the recorded sound.

I only make adjustments in Fabfilter Pro Q to usually reduce the annoying low frequencies.In this recording I lowered 2.5 dB around the frequency of 50 Hz and raised 2.2 dB around the frequency of 4000 Hz, it is a small difference from RAW.

I too would have liked to record for an hour without being disturbed by people to get a clean recording. In most cases, I prefer to have synchronization between audio and video, which can be challenging. However, you’ve given me an idea. I will try to make a 1-hour long clip with a video loop. I refrain from using limiters or auto settings. Instead, I manually adjust sound levels in post-production, focusing on areas that exceed acceptable thresholds due to excessive noise. I anticipate that these challenges will be mitigated once I acquire a 32-bit float recorder.

Thanks, that's correct! In this case, it's the wind blowing through the trees. Imagine what the noise floor from the H5 preamps would be during a recording in the studio if it were as loud in the recording as it is in nature in this case.

And for me it is very difficult to find moments of peace longer than 10 minutes without a plane passing by and here in this recording it is possible that a plane passed but it is probably hidden by thunder, when I started the recording there were two planes but, I did not include that part of the beginning of the recording in the film.

@@naturesoundsrecord Yeah, it's annoying for sure. We have an airport not far away so for me it's almost impossible to get 3-4 minutes of nature without a plane coming over. I'd need to travel far away to be free of them, and cars too. Sadly there's not much you can do in editing either to get rid of it without affecting the recording badly. I always forget to try out the High Pass Filter on my F3 and see what effect that has. Maybe it will help to some degree.

@@lookingforsounds And for me it's difficult, there are moments of passing and 10 planes in an hour, I have more than half of the outings in nature and I couldn't use the recordings in any film for these reasons, in most of the recordings I left them as they were but it's very frustrating for me and it's not what I want in my videos.

@@naturesoundsrecord In my latest upload there were two very loud planes in it. So loud that I couldn't upload it as it was. I chopped those parts out and one worked well, but the second you can hear a slight "skip" in the sound where the plane is chopped out. I had no other choice because the very loud sounds went on for too long.

Yes, it was the beginning of rain and even more so the wind among the trees, but it was somewhere close to the place where I recorded because there was no splash of water even when I gathered the equipment to leave the forest. A heavy rain arrived in the area about 15 minutes after leaving the forest.
