I don’t care if he spoke incorrectly or used a term in the wrong context. This is not easy to do. Get in front of a camera and try to be as fluent and natural as he is. Good on you Jordan. I appreciate the hard work and excellent content you and the addicted guys produce. Marlin Cameron and all the rest!! Good on you guys!! Keep up the awesome work and putting out informational and informative videos at this quality. I will keep watching. Thank you so much!!
Former Fisheries Biologist here ... Jordan, you gave perhaps one of the best descriptions of coho behavior that I've ever heard. I really like how you tie their aggressive behavior towards prey that is falling in the water (dying or weak) to their life history. Well done!
Typical and atypical are " the standard run for what were trying to do" atypical " the non standard run were trying to do" language is key my dude. Love you
Hey thanks so much for this video, I finally found some good frog water and hooked into multipul chrome coho today. Kept a beauty. I would of had no idea how to twitch if not for this vid!
Jordan I have been wanting to learn how to successfully Jig for Coho. You have answered all my questions on how and where. Wondering if you could touch on different color patterns versus water visibility? Great video!
Not even a bite in weeks float fishing, spinners, spoons, so I thought I might as well figure out jigging. My 6'6"medium rod only had 10lb braid on it, but I really dig not think, just practicing. I practiced jigging 'in the box' and hooked a Steelhead right below me, pulled up..... and the line broke. Somewhere, a Steelhead is swimming around with a bright pink jig and 6' of line. Already put on heavier braid. Lesson learned.
Great in depth video as always. Noticed in the faster moving water, as the jig got down stream of you and you didn't need to reel anymore, your jigging motion got shorter than when it was straight across from you. Is the jig itself still down in the strike zone the further downstream you are or is the current lifting that jig up higher in the water column with the increased current flow?
Just ordered a whole shitload of addicted twitching jigs! Gonna be up in Oregon for the next 4 weeks chasing salmon! Got a trip with Popov booked too 🤙
Hey homie, I love you, your information, and your channel, but if you say this is one of your more "atypical runs" it means that it is unusual, or not typical. Also, you said jigs' versatility is what makes them so "obsolete", which means they are no longer produced or used. If that's what you meant, then fair play, but it sounded a bit contradictory. Edit: Looks like a bunch of people already pointed this out. Keep up the great content!
For cohos a 2500 reel could work, I think most would prefer a 3000 just for a little more capacity and usually a bit more drag pressure and for balancing a rod out better, that being said, a 4000 sized will easily work also, really depends where you fish, you could literally even use a light action rod with a 1000 sized reel if you had the space to play the fish out and your gear or terminal gear didn’t fail you
I've been out the past 3 weekends, lost 5 twitch jigs and have foul hooked like 7 pinks in their big dumb humps. Not going so good so far, but this video might help me avoid losing gear. Any tips on preventing the foul hooking?
Is twitching technique same as jerk technique, and is plastic twitch lure same as plastic jerk bait. I am very confused, too many actions and it looks all similar
Love the videos. Jigging for salmon, awesome. I'm just learning this method so far works well for Pinks, Coho, Springs, and Chum I'd like to see more close up on the reel retrieve and the jig action. I struggle with these areas and from what I see out there so do others.
I was twitching for pinks and setting the hook on the mouth often, but then I started snagging the fish on the tail. How do I avoid snagging when twitching?
Definitely, in my area twitching jigs is extremely popular, even more so than the usual “metal jigs”, just use the appropriate weight jig and equipment and you’re good, and it’s best to rinse your jigs off and let them air dry before storing them or anything, keeps them nice
@@lemon-iu7bo depends on which salmon you’re going for, pinks love pink of course, they also like some white and orange mixed in too with the pink, but they’ll bite most jigs presented to them, silver salmon love pink and white, chartreuse, chartreuse and white, oranges, reds, blacks, purples, and combos of those colors, and herring blues greens and silver flash, to name a few, chum really like black, green, purples, blues too, kings like their usual herring colors like green silver and blue, green and yellow, whites,
But really it’s just getting the jig in front of them that’s the most important part, next is your jigging retrieve and cadence, locations of where you’re fishing and casting, then colors IMO,
I respectfully disagree. Jordan has some of the most in depth, concise and clear instructional videos on the internet. Believe me sir, I suck at fishing and am trying very hard to improve by watching all kinds of instructional videos. When I discovered Addicted and especially their instructional videos, I found gold. He does talk kind of fast. However, if you really focus on what he is saying, it definitely all makes a ton of sense. Maybe give them another look and really concentrate on what he's describing and I think you will see what I mean. Not at all trying to disrespect you, just want you to get the awesome content that is truly there. Thanks for reading my dribble.
"So im gonna take 4 or 5 steps down river." 11 steps later, yeah here we are. Lol. I had to mess with you man! I actually love watching your videos! Good sfuff!
They do sometimes but the entire focus of the videos is to teach people, sometimes that means focusing more on the the teaching than personally doing everything to hook a fish.
If I did this in the swarm of summer Chinook I fish in August I would be snagging the shit out of them, like the local losers that don't know how to fish
Don't think he knows what obsolete means either. Obsolete means people have found better alternatives to the thing that has become obsolete. So basically you're telling us that hair jigs aren't useful anymore which isn't the message you're sending us from the context of the explanation. I think he should spend less time searching for big words he doesn't understand and more time showing us mortals how to fish.

I would drive to Oregon to have this guy as my guide. Definitely my favorite dude on the Addicted team.
Finally caught my 1st coho with a twitching jig still watching the video again to make sure I'm doing right haha thanks for the content
Awesome to hear!! Big one?
@@AddictedFishing all crome but only 6-7 lbs and native still a blast tho about order some addicted jigs 🤘🤘
I agree with Jonathan Wallace. A spin n glo tutorial would be 🔥
I like listening to this guy and Cameron
THIS covered every river scenario I fish. Maybe I will not lose so many jigs now 🤣. I can't wait to try it!
Thanks.

Thank you for this video. It would be great to see how to effectively use spoon jigs for salmon in a similar environment (from the shore)
I wish I watched this video years ago. So good! Thanks for all these tips!
Heading out to buy a new twitching rod.. thanks and great tutorial!

Can you use a twiting jig for Stillhead fishing
Thank you for posting this as you know I was curious about jigging. You've gained a subscriber

Can you use these methods for trout fishing in the river also.

Still looking for info on two different types of water. (1) froggy water. (2) very stained glacier fed water.
dude thank you this is perfect I cant wait to try again now
I see you have the guide select pro, but what size is it I missed that if you mentioned it
I use a 6.6 rod and it works fine
Do bait casting rod reel setups work for twitching for salmon?
Yep you can definitely use those.
Do you use small split shot or just use your jig
Usually just the jig, it’s typically enough weight on its own, especially if your fishing for salmon or steelhead.
Hey homie, I love you, your information, and your channel, but if you say this is one of your more "atypical runs" it means that it is unusual, or not typical. What size rod are you using here??
When do u catch a fish?
You understand that atypical means not typical, right? Think you used it in a different context than you had intended.
What size reels do you guys prefer for coho and bigger fish? Is that 2500 is small ( stradic) ?
For cohos a 2500 reel could work, I think most would prefer a 3000 just for a little more capacity and usually a bit more drag pressure and for balancing a rod out better, that being said, a 4000 sized will easily work also, really depends where you fish, you could literally even use a light action rod with a 1000 sized reel if you had the space to play the fish out and your gear or terminal gear didn’t fail you
Will this work in milky dark waters? Any specific color jigs work better in that type of river?
It works in most water conditions. Use bright colors. Or blacks.
I want to subscribe. I love you know what river this tutorial is filmed from? Be easy on me, its my first video of yours I've watched.
Damn. Now I have another reason to buy a st croix avid x lol. Was gonna get one for bass jigs but looks like it would be the perfect twitching rod too
I've been out the past 3 weekends, lost 5 twitch jigs and have foul hooked like 7 pinks in their big dumb humps.
Not going so good so far, but this video might help me avoid losing gear.
Any tips on preventing the foul hooking?
It's almost impossible not to while pinks are running lol
Their big dumb humps!!! I hate those damn things lol 😂
Wonder if steel would work to make a twitchin jig? 🤔
Thanks again for another great video
What does feeling bottom feel like?
A bump, or tug on your line. You'll figure it out if you do it enough
Thunk
I'm new to salmon. Will this work with pinks on 1/4 oz jigs?
Probably
Is twitching technique same as jerk technique, and is plastic twitch lure same as plastic jerk bait. I am very confused, too many actions and it looks all similar
ive always wanted to do this!
Now do you tie your jig to a leader or your main line for the technique to be effective?
Better to use a leader.
I live in Ontario Canada fishing Lake Ontario and going out to try this where can I get your jigs?
Love the videos. Jigging for salmon, awesome. I'm just learning this method so far works well for Pinks, Coho, Springs, and Chum

I was twitching for pinks and setting the hook on the mouth often, but then I started snagging the fish on the tail. How do I avoid snagging when twitching?
Hard to avoid it unless you do lighter twitches
Great video
What kind of rod are you using?
Okuma Guide Select Pro
Did you mean typical or atypical? Because it kind of seemed like you meant typical.
I might believe these if you show catching a fish 🤣I get this is how we dont catch a fish lol.jk
