    A good subject for instruction, covered well. I come from a Windsurfing background and I might add a point. At speed, a windsurfer wants to hang off the boom and deliver only enough foot pressure to keep the board directed and trimmed, while a foiler wants to keep solid downward foot pressure all the time. I have found myself instinctively lightening pressure causing the board to quickly go out of control.

    That’s very good!
    Guilty of all the points you mention. So inbred for us kutesugers and windsurfers
    “Let the wing take you” “don’t edge” “trust the foil”
    Beautifully put

    Very useful, thanks. Love the info and how you're delivering it. Today I managed to stand up for the first time on my foil board. Still at the taxi stage... :)

    I wish I'd seen this a few months ago. Its taken me ages to work out for myself as a kiter and windsurfer that I Have to really consciously put more weight on my front foot as soon as I'm on foil, which then enabled me to keep my weight balanced and centralized on the board. Until then I would constantly find myself leaning too hard against the edge of the board and relying on the power of the wing then to correct once I got going (which it never did) and I kept on veering down into the water. At which point I would repeatedly shake my fist angrily at the sky and shout profanities at the foil Gods!! Just Starting to learn to jibe now and I'm quite sure you've also nailed it about relying on the glide. I feel like I'm trying to rush my turn too much instead of remembering I have more time than I expect. Thanks heaps for a really well explained tutorial and keep them coming !

      Glad I could help with the Jibe! and too bad I couldnt have made this video earlier but hopefully it will help others having the same problems as you. Enjoy your time on the water and I hope I can help with your progress!

    Dude I'm in the process of learning. Your vids are by far the best. Pretty sure I'll be 10x better next time on the water

    Thank you for this video. As an old windsurfer I think I am typically the guy who don't trust the glide of the foil. I have already around 40 sessions with regular foiling from the 10th but I still don't pass the gybe. My friends told me that I keep my wing with power too long in the turn. They said I have to relax and forgot my wing early. I will try to practice the tip of releasing my wing and trying to go as far as I can.

      it sounds exactly like I am talking to my father! Same exact problems... once you learn to trust your foil everything will be way better! So, no worries :)
      Glad I could help

    Hi, thank you for this great video. You give very clear training.
    Could you do a video on foot placement on the board and foil position in the track. Andy.

    Thanks for boosting us to learn this new sport
    Not overthink it is very good and trust the glide too
    Can you explain how to not fall on the foil when flying or learning as it’s a foil , and no longer a fin😅

    • @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind
      @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind  Рік тому

      Hey! Glad you liked the video and I hope it helps out in any way possible!
      As for the foil question, do you often fall on the foil or is it just a fear? Because I have very rarely seen or even heard of people falling on the foils.
      One way I can think of is holding onto the wing too long when you feel like you have over carved the board, instead of letting go that will keep you clear away from the foil.

    • @patricegorce6749
      @patricegorce6749 Рік тому +1

      Thanks so much that is very helpful: it s the fear of crashing and how to avoid falling close to the foil.
      Will not overthink it : as soon as as I feel I ve lost control let go of the wing, so the board runs its intended course, and I stay in place
