  • In this video you will hear the seven types of sounds of Junco Olhos Escuros. The songs are of the species: Slate Collared, Oregon, Pink Sided, White Winged, Gray Headed, Red Becked, the latter being a complex type of sound. The Dark Eyed Junco is a unique sparrow with incredible variation between populations. Its predominant color is gray, white and shades of brown. The Dark Eyed Junco has a pink bill and white outer tail feathers. The Dark Eyed Junco breeds in a variety of forested habitats, especially with conifers. It can be found in any wooded habitat in winter, usually in flocks. Typically, the Dark Eyed Junco forages on the ground for seeds, but it also likes thickets or weedy fields.
