Being a cinematographer myself, i can definitely say that you must be the calmest person on set. Many DPs mostly lose their temper quite easily, there is a certain calmness to your personality. I also try my best to be the calmest one on set. Cheers from India
That’s so right!!! Thank you for the support
The finished result with these cheap lights is insaneee!
Broooooo hello appreciate Ed the great stopping by
Love these diy set ups, really inspiring to just go shoot something
I hope it helps !!!
Being a beginner filmmaker, I wud like to say thank you for your valuable tips that you share, it's taking me 2 1/2 years to build up from scratch on what I have now. 2 canon cameras, 80 & 90d, 3 different lenses, 2 light panels with one small LED light, 2 Tascam dr 10L's, a low budget laptop for editing, a boom stand with a rode mic along with a few more things I have managed to buy. My point is that being a writer, film maker and editor, it cost quite a bit, even when finding deals on equipment, your videos helps me out in a lot of ways. Thank you for the very helpful tips and ideas that you have, they are helping now and will be helping many more young filmmakers to come in the future.
Thank you so much. Isn’t it such a great feeling seeing the progress?
You sir are a saint
Thank you so much!
Nice to show others that there are no excuses getting good lighting results if you are on a budget. Thanks!
Thank YOU
@@BradyBessette WOW - This was a fast reply :)
I kind of like the house lights look :-) It has a pleasant, edgy mood.
To each their own !!
Fantastic video once again. One really needs to understand how light functions and play with it and make it work the way you want... the way you say it... making the light "wrap around" the subject. Bravo!
Thank you much!!
This is great, man. I've been studying your videos for my personal and coming films. And since I'm an Illustrator with no experiences in a real environment, this help me a lot, mixing my knowledge from paintings and drawings.
Sincerely, thank you so much.
Thank you so much! The best DP’s often have talents with painting as well, interesting fun fact!
I am a HUUUGGEEE FAAANNN! I make sure that i watched every post you share!
THANK YOU MIGUEL
Always waiting for your videos
I’m flattered !!!
Best video I've come across on lighting! Thanks so much.
Wise words at the end! Thank you so much for this! More restrictions = more creativity in order to find ways to thing around the corner
Thank you so much!!! I do agree
Love this look! It's awesome to see what you can do with such cheap lights. Great video.
Thank you a lot!!
Nice little tutorial man, looks great !!
Thank you!!
What a gem.
Thank you Gas
Thanks so much for this video, Brady! I appreciate those words, really inspires me to be even more creative. I'm shooting my first short film with budget lighting.
This is actually a super cool video! Amazing job as usual babe!!❤️
Thank you babe!!!
That's actually pretty impressive! You could put that final shot in a movie, and it wouldn't stand out as 'cheap' at all.
Wow thank you!!
Very Helpful!! Thanks again Brady 🙌🏻
And thank you!!!
This inspired the HELL out of me. It would be cool to see a similar, low-budget lighting kit but with a few more complex ideas. Great video!
This was really helpful. thank you so much.
I am so great-full for you dude, thank-you for everything brother, all your videos have helped me so much, stay blessed 🙏🏻.
I really appreciate this thank you
Another great video! I took some inspiration from you at a recent shoot of an interview in a small kitchen...I placed a silk in front of a 120d soft box for double diffusion, close to the subject, and hid a couple of MCs at 3200K as practicals in the kitchen to provide some depth & contrast and it worked a treat. Keep ‘em comin!
Ohhhh yeah love to hear that!
Very creative Brady, always unique in every way 😎
Hey Lee thank you!!
@@BradyBessette you’re welcome 🙏🏽
You are an inspiration men. Keep going
Thank you so much I couldn’t do it without you!
Amazing and great work as always matey. Much love from the UK
Hello and thank you for the support!
That's good. You're brilliant with light
You could have added some string lights or “fairy” lights in the back they’re cheap as well!
That’s a cheap option! Do that in yours !!
Awesome! Was waiting for this video from you for so long. You nailed it. And moral of the story is we can make good videos with what we can afford we just have to work harder. ❤️ Love from india 🇮🇳
Exactly!!! Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed
Yessir lesget it 🔥🔥
It’s getting rowdy!

Thank you a ton!!
@@BradyBessette always mahn👏
pretty cool to do this cheaply. The most important thing is just diffusion at that point. No one can tell the difference. Great video
Yes thank you!!

Ding ding ding!! Thanks for the tips again
Of course!!! Thank. You!!

And congrats on reaching 66.6K subscribers, Brady! 😅😈 Yours is the second channel I'm subscribed to that I noticed today currently has 66.6K subs, hehe. Much love to you and Sara. Your bro, Carlos. Oh, just to let you guys know, I'm moving into that awesome fort next week!
Ahahaha hey Carlos! Thank you for the support and congrats on the new fort !
Ur the perfect teach . Not even studio binder does this.. maybe u should try masterclass on skill share.
I may!!!
Thanks again
Thank you!
Really love the lighting. I would love to know what bulbs to buy to get the right warm temperature like the one you got.
You should do a video on how to light a cafe scene! Love your videos, tnx!
interesting concept I will tackle post covid!
@@BradyBessette thanks! Your videos are helping me so much!
You guys need to stop having so much fun. Also, can I get this look if I only have 250 professional filmmaking LED lights?
Unfortunately that’s the limit. Sorry JT!
Great video! Do you think you could do more videos in the future on lighting? I don't have a very large budget and was wondering if you could possibly do videos on lighting interiors (Day and night) as well as exteriors with cheaper lights. I am a beginner and I am just learning as I go along. Also what camera do you recommend for a beginner? I know you probably get asked that a lot. I am thinking about a Canon M50. I have heard good things about that. Thank you for any help you can give me.
you should test out Daniel Schiffer or YCImaging's diy aputure 120ds
Send a link my way!

Imagine using these fixtures with those new aputure bulbs. 🤯
I’m gonna try!!!
Great stuff !! Can u make a video about ur thoughts on the black magic 4K and the vazen anamorphic ? I wanna buy this setup but i hear some good and bad reviews about this camera
I have one in the works!
Finally!! A good lighting tutorial that won't break your wallet
Gotta make room for everyone!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
My friend!!!
when your creative level is 999999999
Only you Des
What kind of bulbs are you using the work liights? A lot of commercial bulbs vary in CRI, flicker, and wattage but these look pretty solid.
Again😍💯
Thank you!!!
Nice work bro! I might have missed it but what was the wattage on the bulbs you used?
Sorry sorry 150 and and 60 ! Thanks josh!!
Sir Roger Deakins approves of this message. Did I miss what type of lamp you used in each of the clamp O' lites?
Dude, thank you so much for these videos. Ive been looking for a video like this for a long time, and every fucking video assumes im trying to light a youtube setup for some reason
What bulbs did you use and what was their CRI?
❣️❣️
Thank you!
I wonder what these disks would be like with the Aputure bulbs...
I wanna try that!!! Stay tuned
I love this cheap lighting setup because I like to challenge my self. With that said, I would like to know how you can hide hot side of the frame where lighting is coming through the diffusion. I like hiding my light source from the frame and not make it obvious.
Maybe just adding a front blanket to block it!
2/3rds of the way to 100k
Now it’s the hardest part
@@BradyBessette Set your sights on 500k, and the next 34k will be easy
Fingers crossed!!!
Can you put color gels over these lights
what is the arm/clamp and stand you are using to hold your diffusion up?
Just a Lowe’s spring clamp !
What was the dimmer remote?
Hey Brady what is the color of bulb it is tungsten 150w or Soft milky bulb
I know it was 2700k LED
When is the next contest cuz I want win
Soon! Maybe 75k??
First !!!
Heyo!!!
Second
Hello!!!
But what bulbs?
Typical halogen or in some cases LED bulbs depending on where you live
@@BradyBessette makes sense! Thanks!
Well i guess adr is real easy now..
