There are several directions I would love to see Taylor explore in future albums. Like everyone, I would love to see a rock album. But pursuing this jazzy False God vibe would be great as well, and I'm sure both options would be extremely popular. Some of my ideas that might be a bit less popular would be expanding on the vibe we hear in "The Lakes" from the folklore album (I'm not sure what to call that...1940s? something?). I would also love to see her lean into some blue-grassy vibes - I love whenever there is banjo in her songs.
I don't know what is Travis's favorite genre but, whatever it is, I suspect that it will have a major influence on her next album.
I'm really wanting a whole album in the style of dancing w our hands tied too!!!

One of my very favorite songs from her 7th album Lover. The main difference is the saxophone solo... there is saxophone in the album version but no solo lol.

I've noticed Taylor can struggle with pitch specifically at the SNL performances. People rave about the All Too Well SNL performance, but vocally, it's one of the most off pitch performances I've heard from her in years. Maybe it's nerves or that stage?
And this is not a serious criticism of her abilities at all. It happens to every vocalist. I've just noticed it the most at different SNL performances from her.
I always think the same thing when people recommend this specific performance... I'm like, but the track is so much better. I do love the live jazz player ofc but I feel like you can't get the full effect of this song without the production and her voice was definitely off that day.
Love the reaction!! Someone has to send you guys the version when she sings it on The Eras Tour the vocals are way better. I saw someone else in the comments say that this performance is their enemy and it is so true. I swear she sounds so much better on The Eras Tour trust me.

The studio track is still sax heavy and very similar - in my opinion when she sings/performs live, the band and instrumentals are always more prominent. There are definitely lyric videos out there too.

I just started listening to Taylor, and I am a solid swiftie now. I have listened to all of her albums “Taylor’s version”
on Spotify over and over, Taylor is a magician and a genius with her lyrics. She’s the whole package, down to earth and friendly.

@emmavink I can't help it, man. I swear I heard this exact sound in an elevator years ago. When I played the whole album for my mom, she said the same thing. I like the song alot now (I think she does too, cause she says Lover is the best album. Don't know if she means it's her favorite or not...), but it took a couple listens for anything but that sax to stick even in the studio version.

I will often skip Me! and sometimes Paper Rings if I don't have energy... I listened to the studio album version again and I remembered that no, the live performance is better and I still don't like the song 😂

Well we try not to use Taylor’s version of SNL because 100% of the time it’s blocked. I think the person who donated was hoping this version wouldn’t be….unfortunately it was also.

Sax slaps but I swear this performance is my enemy compared to the vocals for the eras tour surprise song and studio version. R&B Bon Jovi is WILD. Studio version is similar but vocals are much better. Sax is there just not the full solo.

Taylor sounds best here when her back up singers are helping her keep pitch. I've noticed that her SNL performances do tend to be pitchy. I don't know if it's the stage set up or nerves, but her SNL All Too Well performance was super, super pitchy and not my favourite at all. The performance was fantastic, but the vocals really not the best compared to other live performances.
Anyone that wants to throw a hissy fit at me, please stop. Every single vocalist in the world has performances where they are under or over pitched. It happens to everyone. Taylor is boss enough to move through it and she can usually adjust herself really well and she catches it very quickly.
I love this performance either way because she just seems to be having the best time 😊

I don’t care for this song, for some reason everything about it has always sounded “wrong” to me. Off pitch, off beat, off rhythm, her words are not lining up with the beat of the music. Like she has words and she has music and they don’t line up correctly. And it hits my ear just right where I want to jiggle it, like it’s out of tune.
I want to like it because everyone talks about this performance but again it just sounds so wrong to me.
I don’t know why because Taylor is one of my favorites.
