Watching this show in Japanese never really sat right for me even though it's an Anime. Idk it kinda breaks immersion since it takes place in Germany so why the hell would anyone but Tenma be speaking Japanese. I'd actually be interested to see if this show had a German dub but I highlly doubt it.
Exactly how I felt. Its not to downplay the Sub, but Dub fits the characters better for the setting of the anime, plus being an older anime, the Dubs weren't that bad around those times.
You could say the exact same thing about the english dub tho. It's made very clear all toughout the show that the characters aren't really speaking in japanese, in universe they are speaking in German. It's as if what we hear is actually a dub.

@@idontplayislay9439 Maybe it's something to do with which version one grew up listening to. That's why some still prefer dub. However as for myself, I used to watched in dubbed but gradually switched listening to subbed.
@@missplainjane3905 I've been watching anime for more than twelve years and I do agree that Sub is ABSOLUTELY better than Dub. However, SOME animes's dub is WAY better and refined than sub and I've already given some examples of them in the previous comment.

I never knew a Japanese voice can translate to an English one so perfectly. The english casting for Johan matched the Japanese one so well. Omg. I love them both.
