USS Hammann - A Destroyer Lost at Midway

In today's Saturday Extra, we'll be taking a short look at a famous destroyer. At least, if you've read anything about the Battle of Midway.
Because, for better or worse, that will forever be what USS Hammann is best known for. Being sunk alongside USS Yorktown, as the destroyer tried to help the salvage operation. Broken in two by a torpedo.
That's not to say that's everything Hammann did, of course. And in this video, we'll look at the rest of her service as well.
