First passes looked great! I run a slipper eliminator on all three of my drag builds. Drops weight and you never have to worry about losing power to a slipper either.
It has really seemed to help me so far. I was hesitant at first cause I liked tuning the launch with the slipper but I realize now how inefficient that was. Thanks!
Hey man it's always good to try new things. Best part of if it works out that even better. With this platform dude u get all different opinions I love it. So yeah dude keep'em coming.👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
@@FullThrottleRC I have the new clutch that spins and weighted opens up locks the clutch. In fighting sleep typing this I'll find the name when I get up. Very nice
I had issues when I locked mine, the gears would studder at low rpm, so I had to loosen it up, the coupling that hold the bearing was spinning inside of my spur and basically plastic welded it to my spur. Sound went away wen I loosened up 1.5 turns. I don't drag race tho, I just am going for top speed , I'm at 100mph with an arrma vorteks
I knew you'd like it. i went eliminator and never going back. As far as your radio tune, definitely try to only run drk tuning, not a mix. it could cause problems, maclan themselves advise against it.
One other thing that I noticed is the angle of your dog bones. They are at a downward angle and for drag racing you want them to be as level as possible also considering that the axles want to straighten themselves out under launch. I would recommend looking into 3d printing a riser for your transmission like how the bullet and r1 chassis have to raise the diff. This will aid in traction and keep excessive load and wear off the drive train
@FullThrottleRC It will raise a motor but the benefits outweigh the bad add with the dog bones up above or level twor level to the hubs when the car launches it will push down to street note therefore driving force into the tire and making it plant Look at the TSR or Tim Smith racing Podcast and the episode when he talks to big chief about leverage. It's the first interview, this is how you would make a no bar car work.
I saw these same wheels and had to order them, i was running Proline split 6...their not that pricey at 100bucks, i mean compared with Reedy's brand at 200 bucks...was the spur gear metal ?
I had to hahaha. I know people will say they weigh too much but I'll get rid of that weight somewhere else, it's not much. And no I've only run plastic spurs
What’s going on with your 22s? I can try to help if you post your questions. Or gimme an email and I’ll send you an email so we can stay off his video.
How familiar are you with a spectrum dx5c radio ? Figuring settings as to launch control. As I mash it it’s slow to a point then all power in. Not messing with settings in my hobbywing xr10 pro 160 amp esc settings yet
I don't have any experience with that transmitter. Couple things I'd check though is any dual rate on the throttle channel or it could be a factory setting in the esc.
What dimensions are you looking for specifically? I could try to help but honestly in my experience making things, it's better to have the parts in hand to pull dimensions and check fitment
Great launches, glad it worked out for you. Level that rear end up and you’ll be set, your rear axles aren’t quite level, I think that will help you some also.
Hey bro love the channel and the content that you provide just wanna say that the slipper eliminator is going to be a great investment and you will see the benefits of it I was sitting but I was suggest going with a bigger spur a bigger spur gear that's going to give you a better launch and roll out with the car make it smoother and easier to launch You should also be able to go 100% in the radio and take your 1st stage in Lent in the stage out you should be able to do everything in the ESC and not have to touch the radio if you need help hit me up I can walk you through it
Thanks man! I did pick up a few other Spur gears so I'll try a few out. The plan is to get to 100% in the radio and only use that for really low traction conditions where I can't get the car to launch without it.
Dude I appreciate you posting not alot of people run the losi..???? I have the losi and infraction!!! My babies I have a total of 13 rigs oh my typhon!!! The rest except one are nitros I cant part with those but the electric game is AWESOME!!! Anywho keep putting out the videos..last put up an option for us to gift you for your time and knowledge!! I'm just now finishing up the infraction so my losi is torn down due to a wreck at 58 mph it was minor damage but stripped the gears...so I'm trying new gearing?? Any suggestions??I run hobbywing 4.5t esc is xr8
Thanks for all the support!!! I have a few different cars in my fleet front Losi, to Axial, to Associated, and still have the Traxxas Funny Car. I don't have a preference for any, just really appreciate the engineering and different styles of each manufacturer. As for supporting me, I do have a Patreon set up but I haven't gotten around to figuring out a good system for it yet. Right now it's mainly just for 3d printing files and such, anyone who supports me on Patreon gets all those files for free. As for gearing, I run 84/21 or 20 right now. Been playing around with that and it's pretty consistent. Good luck and thanks again for the support!!
Not necessarily. I tried this. It can still slip a bit and the excess pressure can wear out the pads quicker and cause it to start slipping more and more over time.
My transmission had a spacer on the top shaft. Not sure if it came on the original transmission as when I bought the b5m it had a Schelle racing slipper in it
I was dead set on a slipper for the longest but after seeing the car be a little sluggish off the line I decided to try an eliminator. The first few tests seem like it was a good decision.
Funny I just put this same setup on my car. Still have snow flying at the moment. Everyone says to get rid of the slipper. Let us know how you feel about it
I'd definitely keep a slipper in an off road truck like the slash. The slipper eliminator is useful like this in drag racing but you could damage some things just bashing with one.
@@FullThrottleRC thanks man! Went with the traxxas 272R unit, figured I’m gonna need it! Also, what’s the best resell or trading group in Facebook? Just bought a new 4-Tec brushed chassis and it’s not my thing. Also have the painted ford GT body.
Bro those wheels are awesome I'm just worried about adding weight back to my car 🤷♂️ let us know how you like the new body I have one for one of my cars also .
Ha haa, i told you so lol. Great runs. see you usin the drone nicely. I personally love the slipper eliminator and have the same one. Come check my channel out when you have a minute. DRK for me next. Another great vid bro!
Thank you!! I really want to get more shots with the drone but need to get a tablet or something so I can use the performance analyzer at the same time and not have them both on my phone.
I've stripped one spur gear since installing the eliminator but I think it was more due to the motor position changing over time and the mesh tightening or loosening up than the eliminator causing it to strip.
It's amazing what a clean surface does to help with traction. Nice straight passes
Sure does!! These passes were some of the best I've ever seen out of this car.
1-20-24 Great tutorial video. I just picked up a slipper eliminator, I'm about to install it today.
Thank you!! Slipper eliminator definitely helped give the car more consistent power

I'm getting pretty close to where I shouldn't need to tune much with the radio anymore. Just easing into it. Thanks!
That's a nice paint job 🤘🍻🤘
Thanks!!
About to put one on my 2wd slash that's srushed with the 82 spur and 16 pinion hopeiit gives it a little more power
It may not give you more power but it'll make the acceleration feel more "punchy" if that makes any sense. That's what I felt anyway

If you don't have a slipper eliminator does tightening your slipper all the way do the same thing?
Not necessarily. I tried this. It can still slip a bit and the excess pressure can wear out the pads quicker and cause it to start slipping more and more over time.
What did you put in before the eliminator. I tried just putting eliminator and screws rub
My transmission had a spacer on the top shaft. Not sure if it came on the original transmission as when I bought the b5m it had a Schelle racing slipper in it
Thanks I’m trying to put on dr10m and the screws coming out the back rub the housing
Some interesting results. Im about to do some tests with the Factory Team lock out slipper see if that works better than the standard slipper.

Where do I get wheels like that
Those are the ssd aluminum beadlock wheels. They even make a lightweight version now if you are interested
Would you recommend a slipper in my slash 2wd, it’s for off road use only! Or is this strictly a smooth surface ordeal?

Open diff, 500k fluid. I ran a locked diff in the past and couldn't keep the car straight on the top end.

Bring a leaf blower with you
Just buy the pro line slash body mounts in bolt it onto the front shock Tower
I didn't know the slash mounts fit. Thanks for the tip!
You kind of have to make them fit by a drilling but I have them to fit on mine right now
I just had to bore the whole up and down so the body mount would go lower

I wish I had the space to really test more! Feel like the car is fast but I can't get it there on the road I'm on.
