I'm writing a historical fiction about a printer in Venice and this was an incredibly helpful video! Thanks so much for posting it and for keeping it up for years!
OK what exactly is your question. Obviously he made the type casting to create the letters (there is a video about casting it on youtube) and being able to create the type (the letters) wa his major improvement. These letters were then placed to create the page and then the press was used. The major contribution was in casting the letters used.
Oh... I am making Project about Gutenberg's Press but I can't find out this technique how Gutenberg was doing it.. I mean I watched the video but it's hard for me to understand what's going on there.. 1:03 what is he doing, typing? so can you tell me where can I find pictures of "The process of typing" something like Step By Step.. and also tell me what exactly Gutenberg has improved.. I know this movable Type. but I don't understand it:((( Please tell me! Thank you!
@davidcrammer So he made this letters right? well I heard also that this letters couldn't "print " forever.. they changed it right? someone told me that this people where changing it once a week or something like that...:) and can you give me some idea how can i demonstrate it? do it myself?:D I mean how can i show technique? with simple things!!! Thank You!!!! Thank you! (sorry for my bad English) :D:D
Are you saying that Gutenburg's printing press was a useless invention? Do you realize Gutenburg built it in the mid fifteenth century, and it revolutionized communication?

Excellent educational video! Nice to see the history of printing being taught to kids who have never even seen a typewriter. Come get some Catspit~! ☠

It like literally caused so much. Without it we would be no where close to where we are today
When I was an printing apprentice, the worst job doing was printing envelopes on a Heidelberg GTO-52-4 .. :) - That was in 2001-2004
Were talking about before the internet.

Movable metal type printing was invented by the Koreans long before Gutenberg......another Gayrman lie has been debunked
