This guy is a great tour guide. Informative, amusing, but not inserting himself the star of the show to the detriment of the museum and info. A+ virtual tour. Can’t wait to watch the rest!

What a great set of information videos.
One comment if I may. I recall from my printing teacher, Capitals were to always be identified as CAPS. After the advent of the Macintosh and desktop publishing I recall these young breed of artists and compositors using the term “upper case”. Many times I would ask why typewriters and their computer keyboards did not have an “Upper Case Lock” or “uc lock’
The reasoning given was that the upper position type case commonly contained ‘both’ CAPS and SMALL CAPS.
In my training I read and saw illustrations of other type cases, but in my real work experience in hand type use and industry travels, I had never seen anything used other than the California Job Case.

OMG I finally learned where upper and low case come from! For decades I believed that it refereed to the characters but now I should take the word "case" literally!

Stuff You Should Know podcast, "Printing Press? Big Deal!" from October 8, 2020 is what brought me here! Fantastic production! I'm a descendant of the Rittenhouse family of Philadelphia, owners of the first paper mill in America.

That's a great heritage Angela! We are setting up a full paper making studio at the Printing Museum right now, so if you are ever in this area, stop by and show us what a Rittenhouse can do!

10:30 hardening is actually not tempering. Usually it's called quenching or qunch hardening. Tempering is the step after hardening to basically un-harden it a little bit to reduce the brittleness.

The video is great, but the fact that I had to sit through a 2 hour zoom lesson on this makes it less enjoyable for me. yes i'm talking to you Ms.lazar

I enjoyed this. But the fact is that Papyrus was the first paper, the Bible was continually written down by Jewish scribes, and Genesis was written down 1450-1410 B.C. Of course it was written in Hebrew and on scrolls. The Roman Catholic Church lies and says we got the Bible from them, not so! "What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God." Says Paul. Romans 3:1-2. Older forms of writing were on clay tablets such as the ten commandments that God gave Moses. "The Lord gave me the two tablets of stone written by the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the Lord had spoken with you at the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly." Deuteronomy 9:10
