Oh my lord. I didn't expect you review it so soon and being sick. You're warrior! He hit his commercial peak with his next album "Murder Ballads" Where The Wild Roses Grow with Kylie Minogue and Henry Lee with PJ Harvey were huge at least here in Europe. Yes you are right "Red Right Hand" has been on X-Files, Scream, Peaky Blinders and other films I can't think of right now. He also does movie scores. His latest is biopic of Amy Winehouse's Back To Black. He's written movie scripts. Lawless is one great movie of his. Glad you enjoyed "Let Love In". I'm really happy about it! Def one of a kind review! Let Love In, Your Funeral... My Trial, Tender Prey, Boatman's Call, Henry's Dream, Firstborn Is Dead and From Her To Eternity are my faves. His previous band The Birthday Party is really great. Really violent music. There's no band I could compare them. They have a really good compilation album called "Hits". Sorry. Didn't mean to write a novel here. Get better soon and thank you so much. Cheers from Finland!
Robert, I hope you get well soon. Been viewing many of your videos while waiting for new installments. You are just so kind to be doing it while ill with Covid. .
Glad ya liked rare bird! The drummer of the group went on to be in a band called Headstone with the guitarist from Atomic Rooster, a nice rocker with a couple of albums.
We started our Covid journey about same time last week, i was bed bound on your last video, I went the paxlovid route you have to start first 5 days , really helped I’m about 90% 9 days into it. Your looking better
Great review of Bikini Wax. I suggested it because it reminded me of my youth. I heard it back when I was 16 or so. At the time, it was very "different"
You sound MUCH better than your last video! (I couldn't watch--only listen--while you're loopy from meds.) Imagine having various side-effects (plus that) every day. It's a form of Hell I live with and don't wish on anyone... ...and why I'm glad you're on the mend!
Tom Petty's "Full Moon Fever" was my first CD after I bought my first CD player in 1989. This was after collecting vinyl for 20 years. I still have this to this day, along with 4000 other CD's as well as the vinyl.
I ended up picking every 45 from Full Moon Fever. Of course Running Down A Dream sounds more evil at 33. But definitely need a pitch controller to fine tune satan.
Let me up ive had enough has a couple of classics on it. Tom Petty where he does his Boys of Summer, which is Runaway Trains which is excellent! Same guitarist on both songs.
Damn, I was hoping Killer Pussy was made as a serious (metal) album that people found unintentionally hilarious. Rare Bird were cool. That era you describe before "progressive rock" became "Prog" (capital P), if you will. But I adore capital-P, "tea & crumpets" prog (I found that description hilarious). Love me some Adam Ant. He's a character. I seem to enjoy everything he did. We need uploads of the parody songs...
Check out (today) Rare Bird’s “Epic Forest” and the following release “Somebody’s Watching” when they ditched the prog rock keyboard malaise and added guitars and vocals as great as little Stevie Winwood with the songs to match considering it’s the early 70’s. For familiarity just play the instrumental “Dollars” with the excerpt riff courtesy of Ennio Morricone. Both these albums were staples from late night fm radio that I recorded while sleeping at 14 yrs old in the early 70’s. Wrote a glowing review and mailed it to Rolling Stone mag letters about the band. Thank God they didn’t print that drivel . Hey, 1st comment ever on UA-cam (just turned 66)…is it long enough 😂?
99% of drummers in famous bands are just that. Very few write songs or do more than just play. Since the guitar, keyboard or the singer usually write the songs, drummers are just content to play on the album. However, the ones that get the bug of releasing a solo album, usually don't write most or all of the songs. When they do, they are usually not up to par with the music crated by the other guys in the band. Peter Criss of KISS is a prime example of a solo career of a 100% success rate in failure. He finally "retired" from the music business about 10 years ago. No country tribute albums for him in the foreseeable future.
Hey man. New to your channel. Love it. Keep up the great work. I don’t know if you’re still taking album suggestions but I think you’d like Mdou Moctar- Afrique Victime. It’s fairly new but not the most recent Mdou Moctar album. It’s not in English but It’s not necessary to understand the lyrics. But on vinyl it has lyrics sheet provided in English. But really it’s much more of a guitar solo type album from west Africa.
"Kings Of The Wild Frontier" starts off really good for the first three tracks, then it starts sputtering and runs out of steam by the end of side 1. Side 2 is unlistenable more than once. I had the original UK pressing (they go real cheap) with the STEREO mix of "Antmusic" and got rid of it about 6 months ago. Sold it off on eBay. It was revolutionary for its time, but it hasn't aged well.
Another great one Robert great to see U better have U ever seen Nick cave movie goast of the civil dead was filmed in real jail with real prisoners awesome movie very graffic peace and love lloydy
Adam Ant always seemed a little off to me for whatever reason. I dont really know why because i loved boy george and he was doing a somewhat similar thing but with adam ant, it was just creepy😂
Kings Of The Wild Frontier was dated on release but Ant 🐜 Music stands out as an exceptional song from an unexceptional album. Lemon 🍋 Tea 🍵 & Chicken Noodle 🍜 Soup ! ✌️
well Killer Pussy was label mates, with a band that i was a member of on the Phoenix label Placebo Records. we were called Poets Corner. KP was more of a performance art band. Robert hang tough man. I caught C-19 7 times, playing hockey, lacrosse , curling, hurling rugby and futbol, and martial arts. i also caught it 3 times gigging with bands that i was in. i ended up with long haulers and a pre cancerous condition that required 5 surgeries and the removal of my complete gastroenteralogical organs. now 5 years later at 69, i'm back playing all of the aforementioned sporz and original music again. PS, what saved my ass from an urn on the fireplace mantel, was being vegatarian. the only meat that i eat, is free range salmon and sardines in Siciliano olive oil, i'm now cancer free, and fuckin kickin ass. get outside and get moving. get some D3 from the sun, and be well. You, Dereck Higgins, Jazz Kenny and Rick Beato, were my inspiration, to get off my ass following my final (3rd) open heart surgery, to not give up, and get back in the saddle 'n' ride. Be Well. Be healthy. Cheers for reviewing a label mates band.
Excellent medicated fever rant, Robert! Much appreciated✌️
You're looking a lot better from your last vid, Robert! Thanks for all you do! Feel better! 🙏
Glad you're feeling better, Robert.
Grace under pressure! Bravo, Robert.
Great video, always funny and entertaining! Get well soon!
Thanks!!

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to get that album.

I don't think I would have been able to deal with Nick Cave when I had covid but listening to early Pink Floyd concerts helped, lol.
“Red Right Hand” was on the Scream soundtrack
I hope you recover fully soon.
That was awesome dude. It's like your show but presented by Charlie Sheen. Winning!
Fun review Robert. Thanks for working under the weather. Greetings from Tokyo!
I hope you feel better. Please get well soon.
Robert- I would like to see you take even more medicine and review The Osmonds Crazy Horses.
I am happy to hear you are feeling better have a wonderful day Robert ❤😊
Glad ya liked rare bird! The drummer of the group went on to be in a band called Headstone with the guitarist from Atomic Rooster, a nice rocker with a couple of albums.
Thanks! I'll have to get that album at some point.

Thanks for doing my Request (Adam & the Ants) while being sick!
@@Strimbles thanks for the suggestion!
Wow, thank you for reviewing my suggestion, the meridian brothers. Btw., the album sounds fine on vinyl. Get well soon.
Thanks for letting me know about it. Definitely a different sound.

If I may make a recommendation for a future review: The Monks - Black Monk Time (1966)
Great time to throw on some King Gizzard......if you like. Hopw you feeling better.
Hope you’re better soon, Robert
Red Right Hand was in Hellboy and Scream
Let me up ive had enough has a couple of classics on it. Tom Petty where he does his Boys of Summer, which is Runaway Trains which is excellent! Same guitarist on both songs.

Maybe someday. Lol. They were sold on CDs in Springfield IL in the late 90s.
Love the blanket. Reminds me of my Angry Birds one.

If you don't get well soon I'm going to get you a copy Beach Boys Summer in Paradise, and a Pet Sounds deluxe 😂😂😂. Keep on rockin Robert!
Summer In Paradise has become somewhat expensive. Lol

I just bought the "Funeral For Justice" album and will review it soon. I'll check out the other one too
When you’re well enough for some funk, how about listening to This Boot Is Made For Funk-n by Bootsys Rubber Band.
Thanks! I have several Bootsy albums, but not that one.
Wow, you slayed it! Hahaha! I appreciate that you took the time to review it.
Get well soon.
Thanks!!
Always a big fan of Full Moon Fever!!
Somehow, this one is your best yet.
Drugs.

I agree that it fizzles out.
No way Jose, I love the whole album !
A lot of Germans moved to South America after the war. I don't blame them either. It's a lovely climate isn't it!
i have the 2nd rarebird lp the uk pressing, not bad.
Another great one Robert great to see U better have U ever seen Nick cave movie goast of the civil dead was filmed in real jail with real prisoners awesome movie very graffic peace and love lloydy
No I haven't. Sounds interesting.
"music trumpets". Not ear-trumpets? That's important to be clear about. Some people don't even clarify that, they need to try harder.
More parody songs please.
Dirk by Adam Ant, his debut is a much better listen.
Adam Ant always seemed a little off to me for whatever reason. I dont really know why because i loved boy george and he was doing a somewhat similar thing but with adam ant, it was just creepy😂
I really don't know that much about him
Ringo played drums on Plastic Ono Band, not Alan White. Feel better soon!
That's what I said. Thanks!!
@@RobertFithen Sorry, I missed that. And I’m not even medicated!
