I am the owner of Kiko, and I am so happy to tell you all that Kiko turned 14 last week!! she has a couple of health problems but they are being managed through medication. This video still makes me tear up and I love her so much and am so grateful that she has been in my life all these years. She has been back to SASH a few times in her life and the team there are amazing! the best treatment you can get for your pet. Thanks again Lisa I will always be grateful for your work and for everyone SASH.

I understand how the owners felt. This happened to my puppy and when they tried to spin down her blood she was so dehydrated there was no water in her blood to spin down. She ended up having to spend 3 days in the icu. She is now 9 years old and is doing great! I am so glad great vets exist and kiko is ok!

When Glenn, my Anatolian Shepherd had a fatal cancer, I couldn't stop crying in front of his vet - several days later, we had to let him sleep. When I see Nicole crying, I cry with her since I recall that terrible moment. Hopefully, Keiko recovered rapidly and they got a Happy Ending. I watch this video very often as it makes me so happy.

This shows the how much animals mean to their owners and how much we need vets.

My Lavender kitty had that after eating grass outside in my fenced in yard. She's eaten grass before, so were unsure if a sick bird pooped somewhere on the grass. She has all her shots and her flea and such meds too. And we walk her on her harness. She was put on Imodium for the runs, an injection of anti-nausea and during the day she was in vet care on IV. She never go the point of being lethargic. We caught it in time. She's 3. She was on wet for a week to let her bowls and stomach chill out once home and then was back to being hyper with zoomies again.

Animals and their care have been a lifetime passion and calling for me and they've been my reason to go on moment by moment especially at this time in my life and watching bondi vets has given me so much not just in educating me but in actually restoring a bit of trust in humanity again so a very huge "thank you" to all on "bondi vets" for being such an amazing inspiration to me and giving me this time to feel some peace in my heart and soul and spirit and mind 🐾🤗🐾

as an american diabetic i did a double take when she said the bg was 1.4 😂 remembered and googled the conversion... 27 in american measurements is still crazy! i’ve been that low before and it’s not fun, i can’t imagine a little puppy having to deal with that

I often gauged just how intensively we are caring for a small puppy or kitten by how many must the ratio is between their weight and the weight of equipment, fluids and medications we are giving them compared to how much they weight. We know we are really fighting for a life when one of us can hold the animal but we need to have someone else pushing a cart on which are hanging monitors and pumps and bags of fluids, syringe pumps for medications, blood products and so on. We often have an sick animal that is less then a pound in body weigh supported by over 60 pounds of equipment and medications. Sometime there is enough weight just in all the tubes running from this pump and that pump and to and from monitors and bags and syringes that the tubing alone weigh more than the puppy or kitty. Its then a countdown once they reach some level of stability and we can start taking things away such as completed infusions that no longer need to be repeated as they have started to turn the corner, and we often comment as the days go by that the puppy or kitty is getting easier to carry about as they have less connected. Of course we mainly look at how the animal is acting, test results, eating and drinking and so on, but how much equipment and medications and fluids they need for support can also ne a good marker of getting better. Of course, with my mastiff, when he has started pulling his own cart around, even if everything is still loaded up we know that soon he will need less and less attached :)

I would start looking at free textbooks that Vets use in university. Biochemistry/Chemistry will be important to pick up. Any books on anatomy & physiology related to the vet trade. Of course learning about different animals will also be important. What they eat, where they live, common diseases and disorders of different species, etc.... I wish you all the best in becoming a vet. Its a steep climb from here to graduation.

Dr Lisa is an amazing, loving, caring, responsible, accountable, nurturing, genuine vet!! I'm so so glad baby Kiko was saved and is now doing wonderful thanks to her excellent care!!! I wish in my heart of hearts that all the vets at Bondi and Sash could be cloned and sent to the US and be in every vets clinic from the West coast to the East coast 💗💙 now I'm not saying there aren't good vets in the US because I'm sure there are BUT the majority in my area don't have the bedside manner as these Aussie vets do, as with it seems everything now days has to do more with greed and the once almighty dollar rather then the welfare of the animal they took an oath to do their best to save!!! Just my opinion.........
