- Never seen the CarCynic at a car show? Well, now you can see the demonstration of the CarCynic's 1987 Citroen CX25 Turbo Prestige Hydraulic Suspension without ever getting off your own rear suspension.

Hydraulic suspension and hydraulic steering DIRAVI is the best cocktail on Citroën's cars...Rolls Royce Sylver Shadow was fitted with this suspension under Citroën's licence!
I own one, and it is the best driving car ever. New BMW's, VW's, Audi's are really shitty cars as soon as you get used to a CX.
Cruising around Europe is a delight in one of these. My GTI can cruise at 210km/h.

CX Prestige is one of the most comfortable high speed touring car ever made... Another advantage of the suspension and steering geometry is the you retain complete control in a high speed front tyre blow out. In the rear you won't feel it. Hydraulic Citroens are the only 4 wheel car that can be driven on 3 wheels.
This is why I love Citroëns
The coolest thing is under heavy braking the car does not nose dive because the rear suspension will also lower, so the car stays level!
I want to see the interior too, especially the rear seats -- plenty of space I think! Wow, congrats for your car, I love it!
Oh! Citroen CX ... 15 years ago I bought a 2.5 Turbo version in poor condition, but enjoyed it! Unfortunately, I had to sell this car to enthusiastic restorers, because I could not fully service it in Ukraine - no one wanted or knew how to repair it, and spare parts were too expensive and had to be looked for in other countries. This car is forever in my heart. I hope that the new owners have restored it to its proper condition.

Thanks for writing from Ukraine! I really want to visit - and perhaps live in - Ukraine. I am waiting on several things before I can do that, but in the mean time I brought a little bit of Ukraine to me -- A car you probably see very commonly over there: carcynic.com/archives/00000063.html. Sadly, it needs a lot of work, but hopefully will be on the road soon. Perhaps I'll do a walk-around video once she is presentable.

Since the introduction of LHM (and later, LHS ) the Citroen Hydraulic suspension is very reliable. It got a bad reputation early on when they attempted to use brake fluid, and just because it was different. LHM has excellent corrosion protection, and if kept clean, the later Citroen hydraulic system is basically unaffected by time. I've had 3 LHM Citroens for a cumulative 20+ years, and I have never had a significant hydraulic problem, and never replaced a major hydraulic component.

I used to have the small version of the CX, which was the GS, it had the same suspension system and it was amazing car...though difficult to maintain, more over, it was air cooled and you could hand crank it to start it!!!

Because of the wonder of the internet, I can easily buy parts from Europe. The fuel injection system is standard BOSCH, so many parts are identical to BMW, Volvo, etc. of the same vintage. Other parts are substituted, for example the alternator has been upgraded to a higher capacity Mitsubishi part. Note: The CarCynic no longer owns this car.

yes you right frank 100% 15 inchs better than metric wheels because tries expensive and not easy to find , i search and i get set of 4 in italy .
@@alhamedi66 tbe TRX Tires are way more expensive than the normal Tires, but the CX handled noticably better with the TRX Wheels and Tires.

Thanks. The Many of the CX Turbos (including this Prestige) originally came with Michelin TRX Wheels/Tires. Since I actually drove my CX, I converted it to the Alfa Romeo Rims and "normal" tires. I still have the Original TRX rims, and 2 sets of TRX tires -- those interested in a set of original Citroen TRX rims may want to keep thier eyes on a "certain popular auction site".
A prestige and turbo version, not even the ferrari in the background makes this car look dull and boring.
Meanwhile American build cars have leaf springs and gas guzzlers as an engine.
