RF. A friend found a two-body welding machine somewhere. These were produced in the USSR in the 40s - 50s of the last century, we can say, a museum exhibit. The device was working. A friend disassembled it and handed over the metal to the reception point. I refueled my car with the money I got. Salaries in the Russian Federation are very low, but you have to live somehow.
I watched from start to finish and I can't believe how great it looks. Fantastic job on restoration. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to your next restoration.

REALLY ...... S T A G E D !!! Oh look, he finds a "welder" to the place where he always goes to, and it's up front on a cart waiting for him. He buys it, without it being weighed, as he usually pays for it. He then takes it home, on the cart that it was on. He then gets it home and removes the cover and there is plastic bags in the top of the welder. How does plastic bags get in the top of a welder, if it's enclosed there. Not through the bottom where it has to travel around the interior. He then removes the rust, paints it, puts it back together and it WORKS !!! He didn't see if any of the interior parts worked or not. They just did. STAGED Make sure you bring that cart back so you can take home another staged piece to "repair / restore"

I've restored an old transformer type stick welder before. If the transformer windings look to be in good condition, it's a safe bet that it works. Those old welders weigh a ton but will last forever if taken care of. He even renewed the enamel coating on the windings! I think he did a great job.
