We can pick samphire in the wild here in Norfolk, it grows on the coast, but tends to be found where fresh water meets the salty water, brackish, and grows in the mud. Our traditional way of eating it is lightly boiled, and sprinkled with vinegar. What you did with it looked lovely. 🙂

I’m not a squash drinker but when I’ve been away with family we buy the Robinsons mini concentrates. Great for travelling with folks who prefer a flavoured drink. I’m not sure if Vimto make similar, but it could be worth checking Samphire isn’t for me because it’s too salty. It grows along the coast in salt marshes and mud flaps. I believe there’s also a variety that also grows on rocks, but it tastes totally different. Garlic burns incredibly easily. Rule of thumb is if oil is cold and being heated gently, add the garlic early. If your oil is already hot, add garlic in as late as possible

Welcome home, it's always good to be back. I've stopped using as much Soy sauce because I find it so salty now. I've swapped to Maggi seasoning. It's a very umami flavour, rich and tasty. I've checked on the Tesco website and they sell it. It's about£1.64 for 100ml bottle and it's suitable for vegetarians. It adds flavour and depth to soups too
