In 1964 a mate & I pulled into a car park for a kip about 2.00 a.m.after driving down from London .. early dawn we looked down the cliff to discover Clovelly .. BEAUTIFUL and not much changed.. thank you for sharing Sandy.
Once sat under the Angel's Wings forty odd years ago facing inland as the wind was howling in from the sea. Had one of life's great moments watching a fox patiently stalk and catch a pheasant. A strangely cruel but beautiful event. Thanks for the memory.
How utterly charming. I enjoyed your day hike through the town and down the coastal path. I’m thousands of miles away in Pennsylvania, USA, but your excellent storytelling and camera work was very compelling and I was with you step-for-step. This video of yours just made me feel good. Thanks a million, Sandy.
When all this social isolating is over, I'll go to Clovelly. In the final few days of my forties my wife asked what I would like to do for my birthday. I said "I'd like to go for a walk". "Where shall we go?" She asked. "No" says I "I said, I'D like to go for a walk" So I went by myself to Hartland Point. Lovely and peaceful. Got back late. Fantastic
That Sandy made for highly enjoyable viewing, our kids were young last time we went there so didn't do any coast walks, now I know what we missed, another visit on the to do list. Mandy loves being outdoors as we can all see. Thanks for your efforts and atvb to you both.
Outstanding !!! Sandy, you outdid yourself on this one. fabulous, Excellent editing, and very appropriate music selection also. you always seem to find the right music for your videos. Beautiful village. and the waterfall was impressive also. The landscape if also beautiful. once again I get to walk with you, on a wonderful journey thank you so much for taking the time and effort to do this. I can't expound the amount of joy I get watching this. I will watch if over and over more times for sure. Thanks again for sharing.
Lovely views of Cornwall Sandy, the old cottages and chapels were beautiful ,this is a wonderful place whatever the weather .Thank you for a taking us along with You and Mandy 🙋This Coastline & Walks and the Waterfall worthy of your charming videos 🤗🤗 xxxBlessings xxxshaz 👋
Its a rugged place and I bet life was cruel there at times in the past. They must have been very superstitious and religious too. Lots of them perished in the sea! But a beautiful place still.
Enjoyable video Sandy, no cars, must have been a treat to walk the little lanes without traffic, a really stunning coast line, loved the geological folds in the rock formations, cheers Sandy...Terry.
I was 14 when, 54 years ago I visited this area. the surrounding woods and cliffs seemed magical to me. I shall never forget my time here. It was lovely to see it again. Thank you.
Superb job on putting this video together Sandy. A lot of very beautiful scenery and interesting trails around there. I am amazed by how well those old dwellings and structures are preserved for everyone to enjoy. Thanks for sharing your wander with us my friend, it is always interesting and enjoyable. See you on the next one.
A truely wonderful short film. You have back many happy memories. I only learnt recently that the village is owend by one family and every house, building is rented from them. Apparently they refuse to sell any of them.
Most excellent video; the views of the village of Clovelly, and the nearby countryside were enthralling. It is a beautiful thing to see you and your Mrs. ambling through these lovely places. Thank you.
What a wonderful video showing the beautiful sites, and so well filmed, almost felt like we were there! My family left Whitby England in the early 1600's, and this reminded me of some those views I've seen! Thanks for sharing!
Hola 🙋!! Felicitaciones !! Qué hermoso lugar !! Un placer mirar esas postales a través de tu video. Es acogedor y reconfortante. Muchas gracias. Un abrazo desde Tucumán-Argentina 💝

That's looks like a nice coastal village there sandy , be careful on them cliff top shots as the big 57 is looming and you certainly KNOW when to hit that shutter button 👌great footage 👍📷
Last time i visited there i was about 7, hardly changed at all. I remember there was an elderly lady selling ice cream and omg was best homemade ice-cream i tasted!! Love Cornwall and thankfully only an hour drive from me!!!
Hello there, I remember there with my mum & dad & sisters in the Sixty’s. They had donkeys taking people back up to the top. Think the trails where called up along & down along. . Only holiday we had! .
Fantastic video sandy i never been in the chapels in Clovelly nice to see. The waterfall in fall flow there looking good. Love Church rock its a fantastic wild camping spot down there also Peppercombe bay near by has lots of drift wood and a fire pit great camping spot. Thanks Richard
Once in 1983, new baked nurse the I together with family members travel to Scotland, on the time of the ferry we landed in Newcastle and somewhere on the way to Edinburgh on A1 I suppose there was a small village with somthing similar in the building style. Wath the name was I don't know to day not even when I look at the Google maps. Remember that we picked up our host at the beginning of a bridge beginning before arriving to Edinburgh! The ferry line's have realy "thinning oute to a nothing. For taking a ferry over to you it looks as it is to take the way over Netherlands! Not too smouth travel ways when living in scandinavia! The line from Denmark is gone to as it is from Gothenburg. All best BarbroSweden
Wonderful stuff Sandy, thank you. I used to live not too far from there.... you should have had your K1 with you... I took mine with a simple home made vertical aerial to Hartland Point (shown on the signpost in your film) a few years ago and worked an Italian station who was portable on the side of Mount Etna! More memories! Les g0nmd
that was really fascinating ans superbly shot & edited.. you could easily get a job making films for the local tourist board! ;) the Angels Wings shelter's style was very reminiscent of the Arts & Crafts movement but seems to predate it by 50 odd years (unless the carvings were added later).. quite something. ATB riggers
I must visit Clovelly some day, never knew such a quaint place existed. Incidentally I'm assuming they don't use wheelie bins here, but wondered how their refuse was collected given the narrowness and steepness of paths.
Never thought of going there off season, the crowds have always put me off going in summer. Went to St Ives two years ago, they were filming Doc Martin. Luckily we parked the car 5miles along the coast and walked in. There you go, Sandy Jack, the Martin Clines of Clovelly! Only a lot more agreeable!
Jeff and his wife had a long drive. Hope they packed plenty of sandwiches and a flask of coffee. Nice one Sandy, enjoyed that. Mandy is certainly fit and well, she was leaving you behind!
I’ve kayaked all that coastline at different times from Bristol to Lands End. I live in Barnstaple and have kayaked to Clovelly many times. It’s a completely different perspective than from the water
This is an awesome video bro, gee that couple you met had a long walk to get there, lol. No need to go to a gym living there as just walking around would keep ya fit. All the best to you both
In the 60's went to this village on a horrible winters day, raining and cold, and parked my car in the carpark at the top of the village, the only car. Got out and locked it and turned around and low and behold, a fella sprang from nowhere taking money for parking. Where he was hiding I had no idea. Thats the Cornish. Bill in Brisbane.
As a loyal and dedicated disciple of your channel I watched all the way through. 1) How does the life boat launch when the tide is out ? Or do maritime disasters only happen at high tide ? 2) All this frivolity and palaver about water isn't helping..... 3) Besides a broken leg, there's nothing that can't be solved with walking. 4) I really did enjoy this film so thank you :-)
Ade, Don't be silly. There's only ever enough water in the sea at high tide for it to be dangerous so they will never need to launch when the sea is out! You see us Brits have it sorted:) Yes agree about walking.Spot on:) And Thankyou:)
Thats a really nice walk... Did you leave your car at Clovelly, to start the walk... I thought Church Rock was much further then it looks here.... Anyhow, great video - Thanks..
That beach looks like a perfect spot for an Orthopedic surgeon to set up a week end kiosk. But very nice area we could us the water fall her in California we have both high and low deserts here and we need every drop we can get . but the government has chosen to let the water run into the sea . Instead of building damns that would probably drowned some infested deceased rat species . Happy Trails you 2
