I don't have a V11. I don't want to change a tire. I still want to hear your soothing voice and see how you work on wheels :D
haha. soothing ASMR?
Excellent!
With your accurate and comprehensive, easily to follow instructions, I can do this too!
All your hard work, to make my tire change easier, is much appreciated. I am very grateful, Thankyou
Thank you for the support.
Very very nice video. Now I feel I can change my tire. I do really appreciate the assembly back. Great job guys
The reassembly steps is MORE IMPORTANT than the disassembly steps!
This is a great how to vid. Most vids I've seen don't shoe the assembly. I have done three tire changes. Two things I would recommned is pulling the upper board off completely. I was not comfortable with the board dangling while I worked on the wheel. All the connectors are different so there can be no confusion. Its pretty straight forward. Also, like he said, don't forget to string your zipties through the board holes before you fasten the upper board.
The first tire change is time consuming but i was nearly half faster on the second one. The third change was like walking.
Use blue locktite into metal and don't over tighten the into plastic screws.
Good luck have fun.
Awesome!
Such a great presentation, professional and calm! Might have suggest a slight heatgun( low temperature) to force the motor cable back into its channel. (and took a new pair of plastic clips for the connector on the mother board). Thanks so much for sharing and very Nice shooting for the video
FYI this video is only playing through 1 side of the speakers/headphones. I would also really appreciate a veteran sherman tire change video 😁
yeah, we are learning about mono/stereo in this video. Future videos had the issue fixed. I need to get access to a veteran sherman in order to do a video. hopefully one comes soon
i got the to say the the most difficult part about disassembling the v11 is pumping the suspensions. you need to inflate 4 chambers and the top affect the bottom vice versa
This is true as well.
this is exactly what ive needed now all i need to know is where to get an inner fender or the plastic frame. i went down at 32 mph and all my plastics basically disintegrated...
Man… great video I would be very comfortable doing the tire change after watching this…👍
You should attempt it !
@@2cells1pack I’m still learning on my V10F, I just like to watch the DIY videos to familiarize myself with the process of working on the euc since no one around me works on them. I really must say…your on point and I did follow your channel. Have a most excellent day/evening…👍
Top vídeo muito bom vou desmontar o meu para trocar o rolamento durando a desmontagem e montagem vou acompanhar o vídeo novamente muito obrigado! 🇧🇷
Thank you so much! This is so helpful!
:)
FYI, you need to let air out the suspension to put them back in or it wont fit up the shaft. Learned that the hard way!
Also, having to deal with the v11 tire change made me realize that ability to change tires as painlessly as possible should be a big factor in buying a wheel. Got a serman s
A lot of the newer wheels are SIGNIFICANTLY easier to do tire changes on
i did a tire change after 5 months and the thing went kaput. it's saying i have a bad motor but i tested the motor and there is no problem. this company has so many electronics boards problems. a $2000 device should last more than a year, unacceptable. were working on putting a VESC on it instead but in the meantime i bought a new veteran patton
Professional disassembling wheels as usual! I always bring V11 to my dealer for changing tire. Don’t mind paying couple bucks instead of taking risk and wasting times. Easily changing the tire on S22 by myself tho.
Yes. With the V11, there are some things that you really need to be careful on. A simple oversight can cause an expensive fix.
Excelente video, bien explicado, sin perder el tiempo. Muchas gracias !
Thank you 😊
Not as bad changing a V11 tire as I thought it would be, just lots of screws. Or maybe you make it look easy 😆.
nothing is hard if you've done it a couple times and know what to look out for :p
your videos are very helpfull. Thank you mate.
Glad you like them!
Very valuable content.
Into my fav list, I’ll need it eventually.
One request tho.
Could you make a video where you talk about how u organize yourself when unscrewing so many screws.
How do you place them apart without getting anxiety and then not knowing with screw goes where.
We see u doing it a thousand times but I cant comprehend how you keep track of all the bolts for each tiny section of the wheel.
Thanks
Yes, I can talk about this on my livestream on Saturday! If you could remind me that would be great (if I forget)
Thank You
Love the Tire Change videos. Could you guys do a Veteran Sherman OG / MAX???
Yes we definitely could. Just need to get access to one
@@2cells1pack I would offer mine if we're in the same local area. I wanna swap to a street tire.
Thanks for the video! I have a V11 and dreading the tire change. It's not uncommon for me to break something or have a few missing screws when I work on something. Is the V11 easier than changing the tire on the Patton?
Personally, I prefer to do a tire change on the Patton compared to the v11
whats a good long lasting tire for the v11?
I was all set to get this wheel until I saw this video. All of that disassembly in order to change a tire is ridiculous. I can't imagine being stranded on the side of a road trying to fix a flat tire. Inmotion you've got to do better. I wonder if the V11Y has simplified this process?
Thank you for detailed instruction.
What about this small o-ring seal on the top of the shock absorber, it looks like they are tiny and disposable. Did you exchange them?
I did not exchange any, but also this was a brand new wheel. Just did it for the instructional, it didn’t need a tire change
@@2cells1pack Thank you for quick answer. Such details as this disposable oring seal usually are discovered during the real disassembling, and nobady is saying about that during the instruction movies.
So now for example I don't have spare oring seal, and need to find it somewhere, so my disassembled wheel will need to wait for that.
All the details matter, so I'm grateful that you are explaining most of the things, it is really helpful.
We are trying our best to capture as much detail as we can. Thanks for bringing it up so that we can always improve and the community can see your comments
Awesome video! Very curious about 1 thing tho:
I once changed my tire on a Gotway Tesla v1. As soon as i attached the 2 big yellow connectors after changing the tire, a spark appeared and the connectors got destroyed.
My question is: Did Inmotion make some kind of safety for that case, so that you easily can connect them to each other, without any problems? Hope my question makes sence - would help me a lot!
Sparking is normal. InMotion has feature in BMS to turn on and off power to leads - however this is also a part that fails frequently
Okay thanx! But how do you then avoid the spark as the BMS fail to work? Do you just plugg the connectors very Quickly or what is the trick?
Thanks
Thanks for the support ‘
Nice video! Still waiting on that T4 video! Haha. If u don't plan on that video for awhile, can u tell me what tools I'll need? Sizes I mean. Be a big help as I need to take on this project very soon! Thank you!
coming soon :). I do these videos in my spare time, so it can be quite time consuming to film and edit.
@2cells1pack thanks! And when you do the t4 video, will You go over the suspension plz!? Like why it sounds like tubes knocking around in the suspension. And why screws seem to easily come loose over maybe 100 miles. Thanks again! Insee these questions a lot on fb. No one really has the answer, and if they do, it's terribly vague.
I noticed when you took out the motor, there is this brown bearing seal on the motor. Is that in all newer batches or is that a mod somebody else put on? My V11 was purchased october last year and I am not sure what batch it is and if I need to do the bearing grease mod or not. Any help would be awesome!
The brown bearing seal is a later batch v11. I’m not sure exactly when the switchover was done unfortunately
Just for reference, I have a second batch V11, and it did not come with the brown seal. However, I did order the seal kit from Ewheels and installed it during my tire change.
Do I have to discharge the capacitor by pressing the power button before disconnecting the board?
Yes you should after disconnecting the battery terminals
does anyone know how many poles the motor has, we're trying to set it up with a VESC instead, my V11 stopped working after a tire change at 5 months. the app said change motor but the motor works fine.
No idea, sorry
I just got a v11 recently and took off the pedal and guard, tried to follow your video but my suspension is messed up. There were some cuts in the video like how the cylinder of the suspension somehow now fit inside? Im stuck there
I pull up the suspension to get it to fit in the tube the first time but when you said life the suspension again (after putting caps back on) idk what to do, it's already fully extended and wouldn't go in
If anyone else is at this step, you just need to remove the air in the suspension cylinder before putting it back in, otherwise it will stay extended
Ah, I’m glad you were able to figure it out. Sorry we are out of town for holidays so don’t have much reception
⚡👌🏼👌🏼⚡
This video has been a great help to me but I’m realizing there isn’t any actual explanation on how to change the tire. Just to remove the motor. Do I need to buy a whole new motor just to get a new tire?
Some of our other videos have it. But I’ll make sure to include it on all future videos
@@2cells1pack Thanks so much! Means a lot
I can't imagine that there is another tire change worse than that!
Hmm some older wheels are worse. I prefer not to do 16x or 18xl
@@2cells1pack Why is that? I thought the 18XL was known for it's ease of maintenance?
I'm personally not a fan of 16x or 18xl. 18xl due to the Phillips screws that are used to torque down the pedal hangers, and also the sensitivity in the way the pedal hangers mount to the motor axle. But that's just my preference.
Just so everyone knows, first time doing this could take you about 1 1/2 hours to to 2 hours to do. People who do this for a living could potentially do it in 30 minutes. But no matter what it's a long process. But if done right you'll get about 5k miles out of it.
Awesome that you were able to get it done!
all that for a tyre change? what were they thinking?
This was before easy tire change was a thing
Great video, really Nice, but come on inmotion we Just want to change a tire😕😕😕
Keep in mind this wheel was released in 2018. The new wheels that are coming out now are already much improved for convenience.
@@2cells1pack you're right, bro
Sherman S would have a lot of riders for tire change video. I think S22 is still the easiest.
Sounds good. I'll add it to my list.
I’m only 6:30 into the vid and I’ve decided I’m never buying a V11. Manufacturers need to make basic maintenance and tyre repair and replacement far more straightforward.
The V11 came out a couple years ago (2018 AFAIK), newer wheels that have come out in the last year are much easier to do tire changes on.
Please, who do i pay? lol need a new tire after Burning Man
Pay for someone to do it ? Check the FB group if there’s any local techs near you :)
@@2cells1packi tried that, no success. But with your video i was able to knock it out! Big thanks & much love to you!
Alot of screwing around for one wheel lol
Love the pun
Uhmm?
yes?
Hello there, so I was following your tutorial, moving right along through the steps you were showing, got to the step were you had removed the four tiny Phillips head screws that hold the little plastic cover that goes over the wire's, next step would have been to remove the four hex screws that hold the cover on to the main electronics chamber. Except the screws on mine were phillilps, and as soon as I started to back out the first screw, the wheel came alive full throtttle( lucky I had it in a split vise stand), and would not respond to the power button being pressed, wouldn't respond to anything. So I held it solidly in place as it continued to burn rubber in the stand I had it in. It was starting to fuck up the tire so I decided to lift it out of the stand and when I did that, the crazy freespinning stopped, but it was spinning just a tiny bit in spurts, and then making a noise that sounded like someone racking a bullet in a pistol, from the speaker! I'm not sure what happened, at all, only thing I did was start to turn one of four screw that hold the top electronics chambers cover on. Any idea what's happening to my v11? It's laying on the floor of my garage silently, but I may put it outside for the night cuz I'm not really trusting it at the moment. Any Info you have would be appreciated. Thank you for your timeh!
Woah. Weird. That’s extremely odd. In regards to the screw consistency, manufacturers do sometimes change the screw types between batches.
Could there be a crimped wire in your power button lines that shorted and caused it to turn on?
Thank you for the reply, well here I am two days later, I've replaced the tire tube successfully, reassembled the wheel most of the way, except I can't get the hall sensor clip to seat on the female part of the clip that's attached to the motherboard. I don't want to force anything, ive tried pushing firmly , but it won't click and stay in place. It's looks functional, but it's not clicking. I don't want to have glue the thing in place, won't be able to change the tube in the future if i do that. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I feel if I keep trying to make it work I will break it. That can't happen. This is my sole transportation. Ugh I'm so frustrated at the moment. .
Cmp is needed please
Cmp?
