Knowing from Extensive experience the EXTREME IMPORTANCE of the power supply circuit design, layout, and integrated performance led me to invent, develop, and build the world's benchmarks in power supply and audio and video curcuits technologies that allow extreme performance envelopes that others cannot dream of. Kudos for making this video. Great 👍
In my tube amps I used high quality parts in the power supply. Oversized toroidal transformers, computer grade filtering caps, high amp chokes all point to point wired. It sounded good. Then I bypassed the electrolytic caps with 50uF film caps. Boy did the sound come alive.
Excellent! Now that you have that experience, you owe it to yourself that you try bypassing that big film cap with a higher quality (teflon if you can) film cap ;-)
I filter mine directly from the wall by using a Tripp Lite Isobar plug in unit. It’s a surge suppressor with noise filtering. I even use a carbon fiber outlet cover that adds noise suppressing properties. I even use silver cables with NCF terminals. I add an obsidian stone to rest on top of my Tripp Lite Isobar to add even more protection from noise corruption. That cable leads to a silver wired power distributor.
You always listen to the electric energy that is provided by the grid. and wall outlet at your home..........and HOW you use it , PS is the most underrated and often missunderstood component of an audio/music system .......it's all about energy , ...and how it's capable to provide energy to every musical demand at any level and every frequency , a circuit can only cope and do what the PS will be able to deliver in real time ( static measurements are some kind of meaningless in a dynamic variabe environment ) .........only high quality PS units will give and bring serenity when listening to music,. . Many think their solution is that bigger capaitance and anything else is always better .........but it's the implementaion, the quality of components and the capability of a PS to embrase the musical envelope totaly. That's when a system begins to sing and looses its harmfull and destroying caracter of listening to what still sounds like an electronic reproduction of the music , how impressivre it may sound to audiophiles but always ends up with a kind of listening fatigue of the brain , the brain that desperatly tries to repair or correct the errors and faults mostly caused by most of the PS .......
Power is THE most Important Component !!! But Technically filtration and stability and consistency is most important Speaker Amplifiers Power is rarely regulated
Nickel is a great permeability and clarity enhancing element, that we also employ our products. In fact Mumetal cores (80% Nickel) is found inside our SUTs and SPDIF Digital interface transformers. Unfortunately, one part of the video that contained my view on Nickel was edited out. Permalloys such as Mumetal and Radiometal are by the way also also Silicon Steel alloy but with added Nickel content of various degree.

What amp? rectifier tubes or diodes?

I bought a BS Node 130 and it sounded good. After a few months, I bought a Teddy Pardo LPS and it made a very noticeable improvement.
Alright, this guy now is reminding me of the Encyclopedia Britannica guy.
Psu is everything
