That quick video explained a few things which I was getting annoyed with. Very simple when you know how. Many thanks!

Wow. Another home run! Layout looks like it is very capable. I've been dropping views into Power Point to gain that capability with multiple pages (Manuals). Very nice. Thank you.

As a ex-fund user of Vecotrworks, these features (Layers, Tags...) all make sense already. Althought still just a bit weird having to navigate between two separate packages (SU > LO) I am glad I can now reconnect the dots between my old work environment and LayOut. Thanks

I'm still a little confused about how pages, layers, and tags interact. I will create a some pages and fool around to try to figure it out. Your video is a great start.

Aaron: Thank you for your efforts to educate us. I am very grateful. I am also very uneducated vis a vis SketchUp. Please keep in mind that you cannot be too slow to explain things. Assume that we know nothing. That is the truth. I don’t even know why there is something called Layout even though I subscribe to the Pro version of SketchUp. I don’t know how to send a drawing from SketchUp to Layout. I don’t know how to work layers. My ignorance is vast.Anything you can do to light the way through the darkness will help. Thanks again for your patience.

Very clear and helpful! I still have an unsolved mystery. Before creating Viewport or Dimension layers, I made a couple of viewports, each showing a different scene of a SketchUp model. I added some dimensions. Once I selected a viewport frame and moved it to a Viewport layer, the dimensions disappeared. The dimensions are still there, hidden under the Viewport. Using the "Arrange" function doesn't seem to bring the dimensions layer to the top. If it's necessary for the Dimensions layer to be on top of the Viewport layer in order to see the dimensions, how does one manipulate the order of layers in Layout? Not sure I understand either the source or solution of this problem!

    Hi Aaron,
I appreciate the video. I am just going to go ahead and start playing with it. But would suggest making videos of you actually creating the details you are discussing before explaining how they all work together.
    Thanks

Agreed. It is always more informative and helpful to do it that way.

My lazy question is.... (step-1) when tags are switched off or on in layout ... and one goes back to the sketchup model (step-2), does some more work on the model ... saves ... then goes back to the layout file ... refreshes the reference (step-3)... will layout remember the tags that were switched off in the original step-1 ? (Hope so !! or one has to redo work) thanks :-)

How do you change the page that auto numbering starts on? I’d like to switch the page where the # symbol is, but can’t figure out how. Thanks in advance for your help!

It appears I, like so many others want to learn layout. So you have created a series called "Let's Talk Layout". Where is, let's call it episode 1 ? I look to the right of my screen and there are thumbnails of some fourteen tutorials. So you have one titled "Introduction to Layout" then another titled "Getting Started with Layout" And that's it for a suggestion of where to start. So one watches both of those and where do you go regarding the other tutorials? Are any of them numbered as a learning progression? No. This a lame approach to tutorials. I have watched most every Square One for Sketchup and Aaron I have always enjoyed your teaching style and thankyou for the skills I developed. But I think your next T Shirt should read " Loosie Goosie Productions brings you Groping in the Dark"
