Thank you for your video and for being so honest with yourself and with the others. I did a coding bootcamp this year and I agree with many of the things you said. I personally started from zero, I didn’t know how to code. A good alternative to a bootcamp imho is to find a mentor online that can follow your learning for a few months (one hour a week or so), which in many cases is not expensive at all if we compare it to the price of a bootcamp.

Thanks for this, I'm in Britain and am nearing the end of coding bootcamp. I can't complain too much because because it's a scholarship and free, however I have been left sorely disappointed about the lack of technical support and the fact I've basically had to teach myself everything and in hindsight, the endless deadlines have hindered more than helped and I feel like there are many topics I need to return to before I apply for work. Definitely information overload.

Can you agree that a/A has taught you a wide skillset? They literally teach you everything you need to know. From top to bottom of the stack.

Great, honest review. Sounds like you learned in spite of, not because of, this terrible school.

It takes like six months to a year on average now for coding boot camp people. Probably 3-6 months if you had prior experience / cs or comp eng major

I graduated last month from a Trilogy boot camp and most employers won’t give me a chance without work experience. Or they require a bachelors in computer science. You think they’d be more flexible because of all the open positions. I wasted $10,000

Keep on looking for opportunities there are jobs that are truly entry level but you have to pass the tech interview first which means you have to do well on data structures and algorithms

Ds and algo are just tools used to filter out candidates, or used by employers to say you know "you are not good" inorder to cope with the imbalance between demand and suppy of programers.

@@anthonysim563 i am at various stages of the interview process with five companies. This has been such a difficult journey. Others get hired right away after boot camp which I dont understand.

Are there no experienced developer in you company doing web dev on C#? Usually it’s easier to connect with those people so you know exactly the stack and frameworks used in your company already. Otherwise maybe connect with people on the company you want to work on. That’s what I would do in your case

I would have investigated more what the bootcamp offers. What is the structure of day-to-day in the program. Who is teaching? A lot of details ... on the surface look good my when you get to see it is not what it looks. I would have not keep quiet about the program not leveling to the cost.

I explained in the video, but there are a lot of different roles in tech. Simply put I knew how to develop desktop application but I did not know to do modern web development, I had a general idea. The fact that I am a programmer it does not mean that I know all and everything about programming. Once you know how to code it is easier to learn other domains in tech like mobile development, data engineering or SRE, etc… think about it this way if I am a esthetician surgeon, I am an expert in esthetics but it does not mean that I know how to do heart surgery or vice verse . I might have an idea but it does not mean that I know how to it best. Does that make sense? Like there are different specialization in medicine or law same is true in programming.
