- They flew from headquarters, cars and trains - personal standards, specially-created flags for the leaders of Nazi Germany, all very different from each other and each with a story to tell.

"Rudolf Hess' one way one way holiday... " Nice one, Mark.
Yep, Hess had free accommodation for the rest of his life. Only the room service sucked.
Hess landed only a few kilometres from where I live.
@@dougieranger That is great. Living so close to history.
We all remember the scene in the movie A Bridge Too Far in which the boy Dutch underground spy managed to spot General Walter Model’s standard on Model’s car at Arnhem, tipping off the Allies about Model’s presence at Arnhem ahead of Operation Market Garden.
Where is the photograph of Bernards pre-war carflags?
Never really thought about it but, it does seem to be a bad idea to have a vanity flag that says “IMPORTANT GUY INSIDE” during a war
The last time I was this early the Sudetenland was still part of Czechoslovakia
@@guyinc0gnito big egos gonna do what big egos gonna do. Especially if you got armed security lol.
Yesss i thought the same!
When he gets to Hermann Göring's Underwear collection we might be getting to the bottom of everything WW2...
🤣🤣🤣
That's coming. 😅
Brownshirts to match the brownpants.
“This particular skidmark occurred during Göring’s visits to the Führerbunker, presumably from walking up the stairs.”
It's often noted that Adolf Hitler had genuine issues with flatulence.
But, just looking at portly Reichsmarshall Goring, can you even imagine Der Führer being able to compete with the Hermanator in this regard...?
Damm, the heraldic description of Camilla's standard must take up an entire paragraph!
That homely excuse for a queen
Drop what you’re doing, Mark’s on!
I did. I have a life.😂
Last time I was this early, Danzig was still part of East Prussia 😆
"Eternal hostility against every form of Tyranny over the mind of Man." - Thomas Jefferson
I have this awful feeling I need to watch this in a hurry before it's pulled down ... 😢
It will be reposted when classified as "safe". When half of it is just fuzzy colors and indistinguishable shapes.
My lame Monday at work just got a little bit cooler thanks to Dr.Felton.! 🤝🤝
I’m retired. Between loads of laundry & finishing my AM caffeine fix.
Love how Camilla has her picture on her standard. 🤣
I just recently learned that my brother in law was a prison guard at Spandau prison and his only prisoner was Rudolph Hess, I had no clue till 2 weeks ago.
A video about russian neon*zi, fasc*st and nazbol active personell and paramilitaries fighting in Ukraine would be quite interesting
Already covered this subject on the Ukrainian and Russian sides!
@@MarkFeltonProductions Thanks! I must’ve missed it. Gotta keep up my pace with your great videos 😄👍
I knew the American OSS officer who captured SS General Dr. Ernst Kaltenbrunner at 7:34.
Thanks.
The Nazis seem to have had some skilled designers for their standards, medals etc.
Snappy stylish uniforms as well! Got to credit them with that! Otherwise, though.......
Hugo Boss designed uniforms as well
@@jamesvandemark2086Today's NeoNazis seem to wear masks, hoodies, and checkered tablecloths, have blue and green hair, and obviously got F's in history, and babble nonsensical gibberish
@@optimusprinceps3526or just made them. Like all other firm’s. Even Fanta is German
It would be interesting to know who did design them. Despite Hitler's "artistic leanings" and love of being treated like a medieval monarch, the designs break the rules of Heraldry-assuming that German Heraldic Rules are similar to English and Scottish Heraldic rules relating to metals on metals and colours on colours
Did Donitz have his own flag?
The Nazis had a lot of luxury
Like the (National) Democrat Party in the United States.
@@bak-mariterry9143You have some grade A brain rot
The Freemason Zionist allied leaders, their financial masters behind the curtain, preferred to hide it from the totally clueless common folk. So, they would look more like the people they were fooling, using as cannon fodder, to protect them, their masters lavish lifestyles. Still very much alive, thriving, and behind all wars (depopulation agenda), yet today!
@@bak-mariterry9143 You misspelled GOP... The Greedy Oligarch Party.
Of course, as all socialists leaders.
Have you considered, Sir covering the Soviet invasion of Poland of 1920 or the Soviet agression of the 17th of September 1939? Both intresting topics.
I don't think Dr Felton has been knighted. Not yet anyway.
Hi Dr. Felton, #1
Another excellent production, highlight of the day! Not your standard production!!
🎖️🏆⭐🙏❤️🩹
Thank you for sharing this
I agree ... Dr Felton really fills in the missing details of history.
Klopt helemaal!
Only Mr. Dr. Felton is going to make a video about hindu symbols without fear of being taken down.
Hakenkreuz is not Hindu Symbol
@@LNC2009 🤫🤫🤫
Dr Felton should have a standard
"One would like to be both the one and the other but because it is difficult to combine them it is far better to be feared than loved if you cannot be both"- Machiavelli
Got excited when he said Buckingham Palace…
Ask.Bernards pre-war carflag
Great video! I like the way you explain historical events and anecdotes. Have you ever considered talking about "If Day" in which the Canadian government simulated an invasion and occupation of the city of Winnipeg by Nazis in 1942?
I see Funny Mustache Man adjacent stuff, I click
my inner vexillologist is happy. thank you Dr Felton
You made me look up a word! Now I’m more edumakated. 😜
One way holiday tae scotland 😂
New King *and get UK out of war. Max Mosley New PM.
*abdicated back to power as more pro German .
It just proves that you can never learn too much about people
As Gunter Grass wrote, in his novel “Dog Years”, I believe: “The Nazis were evil, but they had STYLE” …
Great information..thanks for sharing this with us
I would like to see more about the radicalization of children and youngster at the third reich...
It´s a theme rough touched, even Ratzinger don´t had the willingness to bring the theme to a better light
Now we have a lot o children being radicalized around the world
THANK YOU HUGO WEAVING
Doctor Felton , I’m a great fan of your work. Maybe a great idea to make a video of the Vrill society and Maria orsic
These guys had ego's the size of buildings they flew their flags from.
Very interesting! Thank you Mark, for putting these together.
This is my first time hearing about this political party but they do seem to have a good art direction
Wow! This one was really good! Greetings from East Tennessee 🤠
Greetings from Chattanooga
@@billb89 Hey, I love Chattanooga! Especially Lookout Mountain and the Choo Choo...😂
I don't think I've ever clicked on a youtube video so fast.
Guees a lot of them found there way to Moscow and America at wars end.🤔
Ironic how in the end, the nazis all ended up under the plain white flag of surrender.
Queen Camillas Banner not very flattering 🐖
The left side of her flag is a copy of Charles'. I wonder if the right side represents her family's history?
A new Felton Yes!👍👍👍
Himmlers standard is as eerie as the man himself.
Pretty flags.
I go to UA-cam.....I see a new Mark Felton video.....I click......knowing that it it will be A) extremely well researched, B) very well and clearly presented, C) highly interesting and D) something different, off the beaten path, something filled with all kinds of info I've not seen elsewhere. What an outstanding and valuable service this guy does for all of us - thank you Dr. Felton.
Thanks important information history
Thank you Mark Felton
Reporting for duty sir
Sick how you even have to blurr the image in order to keep your video from being banned by YT. What a time we live in, where corporations want to rewrite the history.
And who operates those places of power? What a mystery!
Just knew one of you were gonna show up.
And why we are allowed to post communist symbols? My family suffered under both regimes. To me any one wearing che Guevara shirt and the like is equivalent to a moron in nazi uniform
UA-cam censorship on sensitive issues is insane. Sad to see content creators self-censoring too.
@@twojcik3180 I am in Japan. I do not see any blurring. Censorship not applicable here?
Was there any significance to the direction the eagle's head was facing?
"1066 and all that" helpfully explained that Napoleon's hat went this way, whereas Nelson's went that way.
In the USA, yes. The eagle faces the olive leaves of peace, not the (just in case) arrows of war. Good question tho.

“We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "No..." "Well, if you don't have a flag, then you can't have a country. Those are the rules... that I just made up!” -Eddie Izzard
We live ' ere...😊
India was invented by the British
Where is the painting of Göring at 3:20 today?
I was wondering that myself, it's a good painting, and captures his likeness very well.
The juices have it of course.
In trump's bedroom.
Interesting.
❤❤😂😂😂🎉🎉😢😢😮😮😅😅
Yessiree, tyrants, oligarchs, even socialists, all become upperclass snobs.
Human beings generally, not just Nazis, want to be treated as god-like. Nazis though did things with style as they elevated themselves over others.
A guaranteed like 👍 every time. Thank you.✌️😎
This is my new favorite video from you, sir. Thoroughly informative. Everything was news to me.
Great video mark never heard of personal standard flag before, even in the royal family
Was there any personnel standard of Erwin Rommel ?
I saw HRH on the Canadian Parliament buildings before when she was there.
Great video. Very informative and a topic not many discuss or think about when it comes to ww2
Another excellent video episode, thanks! I bet the embroidery shop at the concentration camps were kept very busy stitching by hand all of these elaborate personal flags. My standard is bigger than your standard!
Mark Felton videos are the gold standard for history videos.
Hi mark, wow; I couldn't believe it, I'm a big flag guy! I have a few in my basement, my buddy died a few months ago and his wife asked me if I wanted anything, his union jack flag is in my basement as i cherish forever, hey, I'm a kraut by my background but we didn't care, I really miss my friend Timsd
4:58 when you said the most feared leader I thought you were going to Boreman.
For those that noticed that the colours of black and white keep showing up in German historical symbols, it all started with the Teutonic knights, whose primary symbol was a black cross on a white background. When the Teutonic knights were dissolved (the order still exists, but not in its military form) by their Grandmaster during the Protestant Reformation, their state continued to use the same colours, which you know as “Prussia”.
Himmler's Standard is so Himmler lol 😆
But afte you said it, I imagined being captured opposition and seeing this arrive... How right you are, eerily terrifying it is! 😱
I’ve always wondered what the French took after liberation, this I’m sure was one of them. I wonder if you’ll do a video on any surviving material relating to Ernst Röhm and Horst Wessel?
Calling it the Union flag when it’s not on the stern of a ship….that’s the education we need from a Professor. 👍. Next, how to pronounce correctly Bastogne. 🙏
Mr. Felton, Thanks for being such an avid producer of these historical world War II mini documentaries. You'll have a future with students years from now that will watch these videos and learn how it was then.
They might have to design some more of these for the new Austrian government.
I assume, again referencing the scene from A Bridge Too Far that other high ranking/General officers also had personalised standards, it would be interesting to know what some of those were.
Another piont raised is that of rank standards, perhaps a future video could show us more. I know from my own service that they are used, certainly by the Royal Air Force. Our tiny little detachment was commanded by a Squadron leader and we flew the RAF Ensign and a Sqn Ldr's pennant.
The triangular flags seem to be based on medieval window shutters. There were stripes and triangles, shape and color indicated who or what was in the house. Triangles were reserved for the nobility and the state. Red/white for local nobility or administration, yellow/black was reserved for imperial institutions. A Graf was directly subordinate to the emperor, so he had black/yellow shutters and coats of arms. Municipal institutions had red/white or black/white striped shutters. Ordinary people were not allowed to have a coat of arms code on their shutters.
In some German regions there were also color codes for the shutters of the craftsmen and guilds. Anyone who came to a foreign town in the Middle Ages could immediately see where who/what was based on the shutters.
I'm curious if Nazi Germany adhered to some heraldic college with rules and/or guidelines as to what colors, geometric patterns and/or symbols were to be used for what purposes. I believe I read somewhere once that the Nazis had so many different emblem patches that no one knew for sure what all of them represented. As organized as the Germans were, it seems to me that having a hard & fast set of rules like that would have been helpful.
9:02 I thought those are K and C. Fuking serifs.
Proper style icons those lads, but a bit nasty with it !
Mark your content is consistently amazing
Imagine being so arrogant that you need your own flag just for you.
I'm always excited when I see that you posted a new video
We’re still gonna glance over that last video
Best video in ages. Good work. 👍
I still got the original image
Extremely interesting.
Interesting thanks.
7 minutes ago, nice
I remember one time I was tasked with driving a General. I dropped him off on the parade square and picked him up when he was done and he told me , take me to the airport fast, as we drove his pennant flew off the car and I asked , your pennant sir? He replied to get it on the way back, I can't miss that plane. I picked it up on the way back.
Excellent as always
Great episode!
Fascinating history, thanks Mark! BTW, I noticed symbols in the US Capital and US currency that were also used by the fascists like fasci. I'd enjoy watching that video from you! I may have already watched one you did talking about it though, lol. I'll look, thanks again.
Borrowed from the Roman republic.
Say what you want but the Nazis certainly had Style.
they had good style because they used it for propaganda and political control im pretty sure
All is vanity
The commentary is AI generated right?
No.

It’s pretty sad how you have to blur out some features of the flags as to not offend UA-cam. Pathetic.
What was blurred, I never saw any blurring.

Mr. Felton, yes, love your show. However, what about the Dutch and the Austrians finally beginning to see the reality of the Muslim menace to Europe. What is GB going to do about its Muslims attempting to make England a Muslim Califate. My wife and I just got back from London. One could hardly see a white face in London today?
Nice
Did you have to censor the thumbnail? Good grief, UA-cam is aggravating
Hmmm and I am a 'Premium' subscriber... 😮 On other platforms depictions of Nazi Germany are not celebrated, yet not censored...
