Hi Sophie.you are looking so well.i love the third sample carpet and the grey.but creams do go with everything. You will no when ye move in to your house.best of luck with the moving.your soup looked so nice can't wait to make ny self.i just love home made soup.i have soup every day in winter.take care ❤❤
Wait till you move in or get the keys. Depending on the age of the house you could have some beautiful wooden floors under the carpet, or original floorboards underneath also maybe original tiles . I've not had carpets for over 20 years as have wooden floorboards with rugs
Hi Sophie, as per the lastest fashion, carpets upstairs, and wooden floors with rugs downstairs. I'd choose the wool loop chervon pattern. I'm sure your choices will be very fitting. 🥰❤🎉❤❤Orin is gorgeous. You're one hardworking Mum.
We live in a listed stone house and I personally wouldn't do wool because of moths which can be a total nightmare. We have original floorboards downstairs and then a gorgeous natural soft jute called big boucle upstairs, sure its from naked flooring. Suits old houses really well, easy to clean and still looks perfect years later. Just a thought! Congrats on moving!
We have a rug dr at the moment, I’m wondering if that’ll be good for loop style carpets, or to get something with less strength? Going to ask the carpet people for some advice! Xx
I think another little thing to think about is getting some sort of 'fleck' into the weave or colour, which will hide lots of 'bits' until ready to vacuum.
No advice here - I’ve been a homeowner for years and I still don’t know what I prefer or what I’m doing!! I love your attitude though - normalising taking your time 🎉 I’m HERE FOR IT xxx
Coming form a house with an almost 6 year old, a 1 year old and a dog. I have the soft touch carpets in every bedroom and on the stairs and hard floor down stairs. I would not change this, it is cosy for upstairs, and you can always put a thin mat / rug in the kids rooms for decor purposes also. I also choose to have a company come on and clean the carpets once a year, which doesn’t really cost much at all! And it keep on top of them. What I would suggest is getting a carpet with flecks in so it doesn’t show up every little bit ☺️ such exciting times!!!
I absolutely love the idea of carpet cleaners coming once a year, definitely taking this tip, thank you! This is what we’re thinking, carpets for stairs and upstairs, wood flooring downstairs! Thank you! Xxx
Hi👋🏼👋🏼 we had a light colour looped carpet and it got sticky stuff stuck into it! EG blue tack/ playdough😮 a cut carpet you can spot wash is very good for us now. We used Doortodoorcarpets in Barton le clay xxxxx
Hi Sophie, loving the vid. Carpet - I had a wool carpet a couple of years ago in my lounge & it was the worst thing I had. We ended up with carpet moths, they started eating the carpet from the outskirts of the room. Fortunately we caught them in time, before they ate all my carpet. I now have synthetic carpet all over my house now.
Sat down to eat this at 11:30 with a bowl of leek and potato soup feeling a little out of sync and felt immediately comforted by the company 🤣 what a coincidence!
We have tight wool loop in bedrooms and LOVE it. It’s really soft and hard wearing. We also have sisal boucle from Alternative Flooring in our living room which is super high traffic and that is our favourite. In a similar old style house!
I had cheap wood look lino when I had young children ,with cheap rugs, and it was fantastic, remember, poop vomit comes with babies and children, save the good stuff until they are older, Good luck with the move
I wrapped all my Christmas presents back in July and August 😂😂 I shop whenever there are sales on, and get the wrapping out the way with months to spare. It helps especially because I have flare ups of chronic illness sometimes!
Forest school's are amazing. Its a shame they aren't mainstream. Im so glad orin enjoys them ❤❤. Answer: i love a carpet depending on the room. But i think if you have flooring, a rug can really make a room and elevates it. Personally... im not a carpeted bathroom person. Some people still have it like that. I think once you are there you will know exactly what is perfect ❤❤. Xxx wow, he's so like you 😊. The flapjacks looked amazing xx
We had our carpets done about 18 months ago and were looking at all the same sorts of carpets as you. We went for a wool loop in bedrooms which we love, but it has bobbled in that time (it wasn’t cheap either) so be aware that may happen, and also we were warned against loop if we had pets (which we don’t but I know you do) as their claws catch and snag easily on the loops. Hope that helps 😊
great video you can take the time with the house, you need something that's hardwearing that will last, love the idea of the soup maker, love soup especially this weather we had a lot of rain recently, it's quick and easy especially if you don't feel well. Aldi looks like they have some nice items in store love their candles especially the sea sat and wood sage. stressful time for you all but it will be worth it moving to the new house. love to all xxx
We were recommended against the loop because of the cat (it will be ruined because of their claws). Also wouldn’t get wool because MOTHS!!!! Love it and will munch away at it before you even realise lol. Good luck with your move, lots of exciting change happening! ❤
If the wood floors are pretty under the carpeting, why don’t you just use area rugs. My husband and I used the wool loop carpeting. It lasted forever. If you use Huggies wipes, it gets a lot off that carpeting.
If you have allergies or sinus issues, allergist recommend no wall to wall carpeting but hard surface floors instead. Then add area rugs as needed but you can clean and air/beat them to keep dusts, it's, etc. to a minimum.
Hi Sophie - I thought I’d just come on and say hello. I’m still watching Your channel and I’m still loving the content ~ I also love autumn and the winter as you say all the nice comforting food comes back in soups and stews because of where I’m living if there was a dinner or lunch, I don’t like we are allowed to order shopping in or go out with the carers to get something , So I actually bought a ready meal while I was out shopping with the carer to day , I’ve got a beef stew dumplings I treated myself and got it from Waitrose ~ I haven’t commented in a long while as my health has deteriorated further - sending love and hugs to you all ~ Xxx Xxx
A woman I watch on youtube that does a lot of meal prep often puts the jar or container that contains the ingredient on the scale, zeroes/tares it out and then takes from that until you reach the negative amount. Works great for sticky stuff like honey, syrups, peanut butter, regular butter, preserves. Anything on your spoon is measured that way and you don't go over.
As someone with wool Loop carpet, i highly recommend you get a chevron or a flecked/multi tone version.... one colour actually shows up a lot of dirt ( we have beige in the bedrooms and a Sort of flecked/multi toned beige on the stairs and landing- the stair one looks a lot cleaner than the bedrooms even though it sees more wear) It also does get a lot of pulls in the carpet, even when you're careful
I had a light beige tight loop carpet and would never have a light carpet again as spills show up like beacons and I was constantly cleaning the hall carpet, as there was a line of dirt that seemed to build up due to regular foot traffic. The tight loop wore well, though. I still have nightmares about the time I dropped a bottle of nail varnish🤣
Live with house for a bit especially as you are pregnant and about to give birth. Carpets ? Hire a cleaner in the first instance. Don’t do stairs etc until you know if you need any renovations, re plastering etc and leave stairs until last. Get a professional cleaning company in . Worth the initial outlay to tide you over until you have decided what you need in the house. Not loop in bedrooms with children. Gets filled with all, sorts of stuff! Good luck!
Carpets upstairs and hard flooring with rugs downstairs in our house 😊 I love the idea of forest school we don’t have these near me my daughter goes to nursery and loves it still. We have been in our home 2 years, moved in a few weeks before I gave birth and we still have only still focused on daughters room and areas she’s in everything else has been on hold. Save the money then get things done slowly unfortunately 😂
They say to live in a house for at least a year before you do work. We've spent 11 years renovating. Our house was stuck in the 70s so everything needed replacing. As you say alot of money but also time and sacrifices but all been worth it. ❤😊
Just a hint with having children and pets: go with flooring that isn’t carpet or laminate! Especially in light colors! I say this from experience! My beautiful light grey carpet is now a brown and has stains all over it from my son ( when he was growing up), We had just moved in two days before Christmas and had both sides of our family over for Christmas and my sister spilt a large glass of ice tea on it! What a way to break it in! My husband at the time got black ink all over it from trying to fix a part on a whole home setup of a computer, my nephew was always spilling some type of food or drink on it. It finally bit the dust after there was a bad water leak. Oh, and not to speak ill of my sweet cats and dogs…you can’t seem to get rid of the smells from them going to the bathroom all over it. I have been looking at quary tile. It is slip resistant can be used as back splashes, flooring for inside and out…will not be bothered even if your house has water damage. My father built his own den to he and my mother’s house and he used broken pieces of different sizes and shapes for the flooring. It is so pretty! Is still in great shape since 1963! It does well in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, dens etc. also, make sure whatever paint you use on the walls are scrub proof…otherwise the paint will come off. Believe me, I had to scrub the walls leading from my downstairs to upstairs from my nephews bright idea to use markers to draw on my walls! Good luck with whatever choices you make. 😅
Hi soph, be careful with loop carpets and cats.. our cat doesn’t scratch it but has caught a loop in his claws when jumping down from furniture or running up the stairs and it’s pulled threads and damaged areas and I regularly trim his claws and it still happens. Xx
Not sure where the pressure is coming from to have the new home ready! Dont let it bother you! UA-camr emily norris moved and she was renovating over years! It gave her some extra content that she explored on a different youtube channel and insta. Take your time ❤
I wouldn’t get such a light colour with a toddler and new baby who will also become a toddler . So many spills etc . Wooden floors and rugs are better . Saying that I have Lino that looks exactly like wood they are so good nowadays .
That soup looks delicious and your Flapjacks although I think we call them granola bars here in America I'm going to have to look online and see if I can find a suit maker cuz we don't have anything like that in our stores it seems to be a handy little thing
We have wool carpets throughout our home. So much healthier than unnatural fibres… the only difficulty is keeping them clean because you can’t use any type of vax on them. We don’t have children (yet) and will be rethinking the carpeted areas when we do!
This is not carpet advice but literally just put some beige carpet down in the nursery for baby due in early December and my potty training toddler did a huge poop on it 🤦♀️🤣 deffo get something stain resistant, easy to clean and hard wearing, it’s gunna take some abuse with two littles around. My living room carpet has taken an absolute battering during potty training, deffo wish we had gone for hard floors in there just for ease of cleaning. Oh and the vax spot wash cleaner is a carpet must have lol
Enjoy the video 🥰🤎
Awww Orin is little face, he melts my heart. You'll work it out what flooring you want. Take care lovely 😘🥰 xxx

Have you moved yet Sophie? Loving the meals on a budget, this my favourite time of year along with winter and spring
but hate summer.
Getting the keys tomorrow 🥰🥰🥰
I moved into my house *5* days before Christmas last year, AND hosted the meal... You'll be fine!
To be clear I meant a carpet cleaner to steam clean the carpets!

Yes, I’m definitely a carpet in the bedroom person! Not in the bathroom, or kitchen areas etc. Lots of decisions to make, but all so fun! 🥰♥️
Could you do a video showing how to make the potato and leek soup in the soup maker as I’ve just bought a soup maker thanks ❤?
Of course! Making it this week 🥰♥️
@@Sopherina thanks
