Hey man, I know this isn’t directly related to the video, but I just wanted to say that discovering your channel has been one of the best things to happen to me on UA-cam. I came across an Instagram reel where you talked about the best accessories for the INT650, and at the time, I was thinking about getting a new motorcycle. That reel made me fall in love with the Interceptor. Fast forward to January, I finally got myself an Interceptor 650 in Canyon Red, and your channel has been a lifesaver ever since. From chain cleaning and engine buffing to mods, your content has been incredibly helpful every step of the way. Just wanted to say thanks for the amazing content. keep it up man!!
Hehe thanks for the shoutout, kind of ironic that you going out of your way to keep the bike spick and span, led to the issue ,I guess that's just the learnings you pick up by owning an re. Keep up the amazing content you have here. It's the reason I bought this bike. Cheers Sri !!!
Really helpful. Had this issue of misfiring and engine light turned ON on my Shotgun 650. When checked with OBD it showed Fuel injector issue. But the light went away after a day. Coincidentally I pressure washed the bike the previous day. This again happened when I gave the bike for service. Soon after service, engine light turned ON. Waited out a day and it’s gone. Looks like the moisture dries up. But I’ll definitely watch out for the FI corrosion!
This happened with me today in the middle of highway😢😢 only 1 exhaust working with one exhaust throwing hot and one throwing cold air. And engine sound coming like hero splendour. Thank god i found this video. Tomorrow will be visiting the service center. With this information
That's awesome! I have the same issue and I lost my mind trying and trying with the official service in my city. I changed everything: RR unit, spark plugs, relays (for Bosch), tested the pump and filter, and scanned the bike like 7 or 8 times. I never found the error, the engine light never turned on, and the problem occurs every ride after the bike heats up. I also tested the ignition coils, changed the battery for a new one, and cleaned the evap system. What a nightmare! Wish me good luck that this is the problem
The washing issue which you mentioned,...i had the chance go meet murthaza junaid (a well known adv rider) and he also told the same. Never to wash the bike when it's hot as the water can evaporate and can mess up the electricals. Also some really good info in the vid, thank you for that 🙌

Had the same issue on my interceptor(2019-BS4). Found out it was a loose connector for the left injector, i cleaned it with contact cleaner and used some dielectric grease. Never had the issue since, bike is at 75000km now.
Nearly a year back i faced the similar issue on my interceptor, the bike would stall when i pull in the clutch. took it to the service center they suggested changing the fuel pump, which they did. the issue still existed and a week went by but no remedy. and out of nowhere a thought of changing the relays from 5 pin to 4 pin struck me and i suggested then to change it. now the bike runs fine with a expense of just 400.
i would just say " Welcome to the world of Inty650 non-ending issues " ....i learned this " pressure washing " thing the hard way , my right side exhaust is completely turned blue due to pressure washing and water seeping into the spark plug, apparently the newer inty's are coming with new spark plug assembly which prevents this , so i got that replaced , now it has been much better since changing that
In my Opinion, Rising Ethanol is a main problem here✅ RE 650cc engine is available in BS4, BS6(2020-2023) & BS6.2(2023-today) emissions. If you read user manual of BS4-BS6 bikes, you’ll find only 91 petrol(upto E10%) is suitable. If you add E15/E20 Petrol in it then warranty may void(due to bad effect on fuel lines and pump). Meanwhile BS6.2 engines are suitable only upto E20 Petrol, if you add E25(going to mandatory after 2025) or E30(available before2030) then it will again affect current bikes. Since last year, normal petrol is e20 pan India so old bikes going to hv same problem again and again as ethanol content is going towards e25,e30,e45,e85 & finally e100 flex fuel⛽️🗿✅
@SrinivasGanesh, Thank you very much for the details. Really like the way you explain stuff in a systematic way. Others can get out of tough situations easily because of people like you. Kudos! 🙂
I had the same problem with my bike. When it was brand new, it didn’t have any issue. I used to get it Pressure washed like 1-2 times in a month. Eventually after about 2 years, one day after the bike was pressure washed, I started it, and the engine sound was quite off, I twisted the accelerator hard but there was no power at all, only the left cylinder was active, the right piston wasn’t firing. Somehow I managed to take it home, did some research and logically thought that the pistons fire when the fuel/air mixture is ignited by the spark plug. I was right. I when and pulled out the right spark plug and there were drops of water which was extinguishing the spark. As a result there was no boom happening and the right piston wasn’t moving. I can see how if this keeps happening a couple of times, the water can corrode the spark plug or some wires or as in your case, the injector.
I'm facing the exact same issue with my Classic. Since it's a single-cylinder, it wouldn't start at all and without giving it a bit of throttle, and if I pull the clutch in while riding, it stalls. I've tried several things, including cleaning the throttle body, but the issue still comes up occasionally after riding a bit while its hot, or during cold starts in the morning, not always. I'll ask the technician to check the fuel injector too-maybe that'll help. This problem started around October 2023 during the heavy rains in Bangalore. Thanks, Srini!
Yeah, I have had this problem too. One cylinder would stop firing when hot. This was obviously due to improper tappet adjustment. Later on, my service centre diagnosed a faulty injector but I had never let the situation get this bad. I would hear sputtering in one of the silencers. That told me something was wrong.
Feel free to check out more videos on this exhaust on the channel. This exhaust, on idle has 80 decibel sound. Which is the legal limit. However it is still illegal to have an aftermarket exhaust and one has to get permission from the RTO and present a valid reason for changing the exhausts. That being said, cops have not stopped me, as I don't rev higher, and cause unnecessary racket, drive like a maniac and thereby not attracting unwanted attention.
Really informative Srini.... I've stopped power wash for my motorcycle completely. Though there's this additional issue where the battery is losing its charge within a day or two. I got the RR-Unit replaced a year back and got a a new battery 6 months ago, so not really sure what's wrong. Will be visiting RE workshop to find what went wrong 🤔
Hey Sri, Big Fan. Following you since I got my prized possession 😃. I would like to request your feedback on the best seat for the Int 650. The stock seat is very uncomfortable. Please suggest. Eagerly waiting.
A corroded pin shouldn’t cause you to replace the injector. Cleaning with emery and contact cleaner should have down the trick. Unless the solenoid itself is damaged which I doubt since the engine was running .
This knowledge could have come in handy had I made a video just on the issue and posted it in October 2024! You might be right it could have done the job.
My new Bear 650 is randomly cutting off on the road. Maybe, as you mentioned, it's because of the side stand sensor issue. I'll get it checked. Thanks, buddy
When the fuel tank gets rust it will block the fuel pump and fuel injectors , the spark plug will also get carbon fouled from the rusted fuel. Unless you remove rust from the tank, these problems will keep recurring. How many times will you replace fuel pump, injector and spark plug?
I’m facing same issue at the moment and the check engine light is on and idling really bad. And why did you pay for the injector? Isn’t it under warranty ?
Decade of Owning a Royal Enfield Motorcycle up until Interceptor 650 Rule number 1 :- If your bike is even couple of years old with some mod's. NEVER TAKE IT TO A AUTHORIZED SERVICE STATION.
@ Dude, Half of them(Technicians) are nailed by the management to make you replace parts.. If you are lucky you do get good technicians at RE, you pay him on top of the Labor fee Perhaps get the work done. Create Repo, but for how long ? you are a influencer with 17k followers. They might probably do a better job out of the fear that their RE station will come under fire. For normal people '"Building Repo" that will not last for long.
@ Shhh they don't even know that I have a UA-cam Chanel. 😉 I'm just nice to them by asking about them, their education, making friends with them. I remember a very small gesture of getting frooti for them during summers back, in 2014, when I had my Classic 350. :)
@@SrinivasGanesh Bruh, how long are you gonna do that bro ? you think I have not done that over a decade ? eventually they will realize you are someone who will visit them or see their face once every 5-6 months when your bike is service due. Eventually after multiple visits he made me change the chain sprocket. This is just One of the story, I can go on man...
Thank you so much, Shri, for making this video. I have an INT650 2023 model, and it’s currently running fine. I’ve done 3900 kms on this beautiful machine. However, I sometimes get annoyed by the "tik-tik" noise coming from the engine when it’s idling. The service center guys say it’s completely normal and there’s no issue with the bike. Should I be worried about this noise? Recently, I’ve also felt like my bike is giving less power at times. I’m not entirely sure if it’s a real issue, but is there a chance it could be related to the clutch plate? My bike is generally parked in my room, and I usually do a cold start every 15-20 days and ride it for about 15-20 kms. Since you have more experience with this bike, I’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice you could offer. Once again, thank you so much for making these videos. Really appreciate it! Love from Chhattisgarh.❤
Hi, thank you for watching my videos. That really helps me support the channel and make more videos. That sound you mention might be coming due to the exhaust headers being loose. Check for any wiggle on them. These will be the star shaped things on the front of the engine, just below the tank and the horn. Where exhausts start.
Another factor could be related to valve clearance, there might be some play in it. Usually that wouldn't be an issue since that is normal, but if you are losing power then it's worth to get it get it checked along with what Sri suggested. Living with Enfields makes you an expert bike mechanic but I guess that's part of the joy :D
Should i be worried if my bike completely shuts off in the middle of the heavy traffic while i pull the clutch lever and it starts back easily without any problem ( Its the new 2024 interceptor which has run only 3000kms ) is it an issue to be worried?
@@souravmj8667 😅 so far there is only wobbling, relay issue, RR unit replacing and lastly this. And I have made videos of these issues individually. They are there on the channel. Do check it out if you want to.
Completely unrelated. But I’ve been hearing some subtle vibrating noise from my engine on my guerilla 450. It sounds like something is loose and is vibrating inside. This might not be a good way to communicate a problem but if you are aware of such problems and have some suggestions it would help me out
Bro i had same issue with my hunter 350 my bike turns off when I engage my clutch on turn Service centre changed my bike's throttle body and fuel injector for some time it was fine but after a month faced same issue What should I do i bought my bike on 29/07/2024
I have an even stranger issue. I bought a 2021 INTY from a friend. The bike is in good condition overall and ran only ~5000KM. But after riding for around 25 mins in the city when the bike is heated up, when I pause at red lights the idle RPM fluctuates a lot... to the point that it dips below 1k. And then mostly the engine cuts as it dips even below. I have cleaned my spark plugs and installed bosch relays as well but it has not helped. Now it's started to irritate me to no end because i feel I'll just have to keep getting each component checked or replaced to actually solve the issue. If anyone here has any clue on how to slove this please let me know.
Might be best to get it checked at a nearest RE service centre. Ask them to use an OBD scanner for any error codes. I suspect RR unit will have to be replaced. Usually that is what makes this happen. Just a guess though, do get it checked.
@@SrinivasGanesh Thanks for the reply. Surprisingly I had the same issue as yours in this video just yesterday. I started the bike and left it on for a minute... as soon as I started my ride to work and pressed the clutch the engine cut off. I came back and parked it and then tried again and it was fine. Now I suspect there are two problems lurking at the same time. Also trying to get the RR unit relocator kit from James 'slick' England.
Am also facing the issue not the same missing issue i have done all the things you have done now i need to inspect this one injectors , the service centre guys are also not aware of these kind of things they don't know Actually how to do these things or how to find the solution the main solution got from service is this the manufacturing defect or maintain min fuel now i got other thing to check thanks for the information am waiting along time for this one video
@@SrinivasGanesh got back the issue is solved now , the problem for fuel filter and oxygen sensor . Now those things are cleaned put back now its fine the issue is solved . No issue with the injectors they are fine
Bhai please make a short on changing side stand censor … i got the side stand censor today and i need to change it by myself and i could not find any detailed video on how to remove it or chsnge sl
I won't be able to, as I mentioned in the video, a slight annoyance to changing the rear tyre from 130 to 150, there is no room to access the RR unit or the Side Stand Sensor. 😭
@@SrinivasGanesh bro I also need it , at least explain the side stand censor like how does it closes or opens the circuit , just show the censor and explain in brief how to disconnect the censor , where does the wiring lead to kinda …. Don’t remove but verbally showcase it bro ….
A person with basic knowledge of engines would diagnose like this: Air, Compression, Fuel, Spark Air is rarely the cause, you almost always have air. Check the other 3 things in order of the hassle of checking them.
@SrinivasGanesh I'm not from your place but I'm living in tamilnadu here some mechanics who work in royal Enfield start their own garage and do their service so I said that I'm pretty sure same should be happening in the place ur living sir
Woah! This is not common. I believe we are the rare ones who faced this issue. I hope your bike is running fine now. Thank you for commenting on the video.
In some petrol pumps, there will be water content in thier petrol and filling regularly from these pumps can also cause failure of injector and fuel pump... Always use high octane fuel xp95
@@ramvykkattil I have been using regular fuel for over 4 years and it has had no issues. Plus this was the issue on the electrical part of the fuel injector. (behind it) The pins behind it got corroded. I'm sure the fuel is okay, because these modern bikes can take fuel upto E20. Which is regular fuel. Else not many people can afford xp 95 and not may gas stations have that fuel too. they only have upto 91.
I believe issues arise after 4 years, and that is okay, I'm not complaining, but rather it is helping me learn more about my motorcycle. Thank you for your comment and for watching the video.
Which part are you referring to? The fuel injector? I have mentioned its price in the description btw. Thank you for seeing the video and for commenting! 🙏🏽
It happens to me whenever i get my int 650 pressure washed. And i had to heat iptthe engine by riding ay high RPM continuously for sometime, and it then it was ok
@SrinivasGanesh I see. Well my purpose of buying comes with few constraints, let me try my best in short. (Taking in mind the Indian roads with a lot of patches and breaks) I want something to ride to office and a few couple of long tours in a year. This is what i felt after test rides : Interceptor - has the feeeeeellllll, the smile when you take the bike out but compromising the fuel and suspension. I would have to do few upgrades after buying. Himalayan 450 - will serve the purpose of city and highway ignoring the bad patches on road(great suspension). Is fuel efficient and more practical. But I didn't get the feel when riding it, the only thing stopping me from buying the 452 is the 650 feeling. Let me know your thoughts since you have owned, I hope atleast you can somewhat remove most part of the puzzle for me.
hahahah there is a part in the video which I edited out. And I am basically saying that My Interceptor 650 can turn into Hunter 350! Which I thought was way too cheesy. 😅
Uncle ji i faced an issue in my int650 yesterday I parked my bike bike for an hour or so and when I returned and turned on the ignition it didn't started and after that the power gave up it was like a bike without battery the speedo was dead after a while after I messed with the fuse it turned normal....

Techinicians in general are incompetent. I was seeing a similar issue in a mercedes video of waldos world youtube. He eliminated all the things one by one. Check for spark, then check if fuel is sprayed or not etc... Even in his video mechanics suggested engine change lol but he fixed it himself with elimination process. !!!
You’re right, a lot of mechanics use the "guess and replace" method. That can get expensive! 🙏🏽 I am getting to learn a lot about my motorcycle though.
Hi can you share your number would like to share my interceptor 650 issue it too has misfiring need your suggestion as its been to Enfield work shop more than 8 times and still at the workshop
Bro, this exact same happened to my bike 6 months ago. After i installed new NGK iridium spark plug and wires. I also had replaced my RR unit some while back, so that was not it. Not the side stand sensor either as I keep it Clean. I got the throttle body and fuel filter/pump cleaned from the service center. Seems to have fixed for a bit but it returned again. Ignition coil is also okay. I then took off the powertronic unit. The bike runs fine without the porwertronic ECU. But now I'm thinking it could be the fuel injector! Thanks! What was the cost of the fuel injector?

When the fuel tank gets rust it will block the fuel pump and fuel injectors , the spark plug will also get carbon fouled from the rusted fuel. Unless you remove rust from the tank, these problems will keep recurring. How many times will you replace fuel pump, injector and spark plug?
I’m facing same issue at the moment and the check engine light is on and idling really bad. And why did you pay for the injector? Isn’t it under warranty ?
It’s been almost 5 years to this retro beauty! 😁
So no warranty I suppose ? Cause even mine is rusting and will I get warranty for the same ?
@@itspranav892 no. You can always check at their service centre.
Despite the bike having a couple of scans, how did the scanners not pick up on the fault?
Mystery to me. 🫣
Any tips on solving the ticking noise in interceptor engine.

Rule number 1 :- If your bike is even couple of years old with some mod's. NEVER TAKE IT TO A AUTHORIZED SERVICE STATION.

Lol, have to build a repo with the technicians there. Else you are right.
I'm just nice to them by asking about them, their education, making friends with them.

Hi Srinivas, how many kilometres have you done? Great videos. Paul Spain
Hi Paul!
I have done about ~38,000 kms.
Amazing, I have recently done 43 thousand. Great videos my friend.
@@ret-650twins that is awesome!!!
Completely unrelated. But I’ve been hearing some subtle vibrating noise from my engine on my guerilla 450. It sounds like something is loose and is vibrating inside.
This might not be a good way to communicate a problem but if you are aware of such problems and have some suggestions it would help me out
Take your bike to a mechanic and get it checked out. It could be a loose bolt. Ask them to use a torque wrench and tight the bolts to torque spec.
Bro i had same issue with my hunter 350 my bike turns off when I engage my clutch on turn
Service centre changed my bike's throttle body and fuel injector for some time it was fine but after a month faced same issue
What should I do i bought my bike on 29/07/2024
I have an even stranger issue.
I'm glad that this helped. Do let me know if this solution worked for you.

Don’t remove but verbally showcase it bro ….
some times spark plug cap also leaks the current and misfires the engine .. it happned to my inti .. RE replaced with new caps .. so issue solved ..
I am yet to get new and updated caps for my Interceptor 650. Thank you for reminding! :)
A person with basic knowledge of engines would diagnose like this:
Air, Compression, Fuel, Spark
Air is rarely the cause, you almost always have air.
Check the other 3 things in order of the hassle of checking them.
@@JH09SUMIT will try and get the compression check too. Thank you for watching the video and for commenting.
Why don't u give it outside for the service sir
Outside where?
@SrinivasGanesh I'm not from your place but I'm living in tamilnadu here some mechanics who work in royal Enfield start their own garage and do their service so I said that I'm pretty sure same should be happening in the place ur living sir

hahahahahaha your previous comment was funnier. 🤣
@SrinivasGanesh 😂😂 suddenly I was more interested in mileage than Lolzz 💀

I had the same issue, and the same thing happened- the injector failed, and I had to replace it. So it seems to be a common issue for all 650s
@@ramvykkattil I do agree with the water part. That is why it is better to go to a known station. 🙏🏽
Why so much issue on royal Enfield bike.

Clutch burn issue
Might be related to engine clutch plates. Get it inspected at a service station.

Why did you switch from interceptor to himalayan
I have both motorcycles buddy. 🙏🏽
@SrinivasGanesh Yes, I know but could you tell which to choose as a new one, what made you buy the himalayan
@ Well, I wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle off-road. Hence I wanted to go for Himalayan. :)
What is your purpose of getting a motorcycle?
@SrinivasGanesh I see.
Well my purpose of buying comes with few constraints, let me try my best in short.
(Taking in mind the Indian roads with a lot of patches and breaks) I want something to ride to office and a few couple of long tours in a year.
This is what i felt after test rides :
Interceptor - has the feeeeeellllll, the smile when you take the bike out but compromising the fuel and suspension.
@@rahuldeb6001 Well you have answered your question my friend. :) I would advise you to go with the feeeeellll!!!

Techinicians in general are incompetent. I was seeing a similar issue in a mercedes video of waldos world youtube. He eliminated all the things one by one.
