I just made one, my first fully braided sling, not perfect, but it still throws a stone quite fast, for thirty feet of paracord for seven bucks not bad. I know what I did wrong. so there is room for improvement. still, I think a rabbit, or pigeon won't care, or critique on the mistakes. I am still quite pleased. This video was quite inspirational. top notch instruction. my following the instructions though were less than perfect. will do better next sling, and each sling will improve. may even start selling them once I improve my skills. still was fun making it.
Right on yeah mine have their flaws never did that tip me of thing before making some slings and stuff. Does not need to look perfect to get a rock flying quite fast. I would not want to get in the way of it lol.
Great work. Look forward to trying your design. To answer your question about the cracker/tassel: it's meant to dissipate the kinetic energy generated by the wave/whip motion traveling through the sling and is usually made from a material that is far more durable than what the sling is woven with. Without it, all the energy is transferred into the end of the sling, which causes wear and potentially breakage.
@@doloinc I burned the ends so it would be quiet, I dont want my sling to crack thus scaring the game. It still works great. The Balletic method of sling is sending a hello signal to the game, the Apache method or underhand method would work great. One swing is all the power needed to generate the power to bring down a rabbit or pigeon and duck. To be able to generate the power it doesn't need a lot of movement. Out west where I live there is a lot of opportunities the practice, I have come close to bringing down a pigeon in flight just barely passed over its head. Otherwise , I have never taj ken any game yet. Still the practice is fun, and I have learned quite a bit from these instructional videos.
Great video and I will be attempting to copy your design. But the only thing is that I wish you had shown us your sling in action. I would’ve loved to see you actually use it and show us how it does.
The cracker helps disperse the energy when the sling is released, without one you may notice the release knot tends to whip around back at you, if you want it to be silent with the benefit of the cracker just make a puffy ball on the release kind of like the silencers on a bow string.
I’m just now thinking of making a sling and ram across your video along with some others. A guy, Archaic Arms, makes authentic slings with raw materials. He says the tail goes sonic and suggests using a very strong material. He is currently using Dvneema line for tail. 🤷🏼♂️I know nothing, yet. Appreciate
Yeah I’ve seen that before. It would be better I’m sure. I have never been great at tying things so I keep it easy for my self. He would know more I’m sure I am much more of a bow guy but love any simple or primitive hunting defence tool I can play with
Its a damn short sling. I made it, exact length of ropes etc....may your pillow never be cold again. I dont recommend this, unless u have time and money to waste

Can’t beat the cost and reliability.
Made on today. Thank you brother 🙏 if you do another video, having the camera angle from your perspective would be awesome!
Right on 👍
Good idea it will make more sense from a first person perspective

Thank you hope it works out great

@@puravidadew7031 you are definitely I will have to make a video on it in action 👍
Very cool video ... never used a sling before, but may give it a try one day.
Thanks 👍 can be fun when you are just out in the woods.
@@JayhooOutdoors it looks like it would be if you know what your doing ... My luck I'll knock myself out with it! 😵💫😝🙃🤔

Thank you 🙏
Lol I thought you were lying on your belly while doing it because it looked like the floor carpet
@@maxz69 lol
Ever done one from leather?
@@brettmciver432 no I haven’t but that would make a really nice one I’m sure.
I think I might have to try that thanks for the thought 💭 😁
How do i make it thinner
You can use thinner cordage I have done that and can also use less lines 5 braid or 3 braid
Take the inner strands out maybe?
Is your Cat alright?
The one is always crying for more food lol

What’s the length of your completed sling?
@@hiddenrhythmsmusiccircles 40 inch stretched to the maximum, 20 folded
@@hiddenrhythmsmusiccircles i made another 60 inch sling but simpler, shotout to RoadDawg, his tutorial is amazing
