the interia of the pub is not " the jackdaw" the pub they used was in fact " the hoops" in a village called Bassingbourn in Cambridgeshire. ( i should know as it was my local ). i remember the film crew there, the glass partition between the public and lounge bar was built for the film sadly this was taken out a few years ago!

BUT The interior of the Jackdaw. Ron Lamberton tells us that the interior shot for the "Jackdaw" pub was actually "The Hoops" pub in Bassingbourne near Royston, Hertfordshire. Michael Jackson, on the other hand, says that this interior was indeed the 'Jackdaw' he visited Denton, Kent many years ago and sat in those very seats. (RL). Decision made, thanks to some research from Ken Moore: click the date. (SJ)

Next time I'm on holiday in Folkstone, I'm going to stop into the Jackdaw, and have a pint.
