- Talea Metivier & Smart Little Sign go in the finals at the Washington State Horse Expo 2017 Mountain Trail Competition. 3rd place finish. 2nd time competing on a Mark Bolender course. The rolling bridges, suspension bridges, water box and other obstacles were fun and challenging!
Can we applaud how this horse has a way better neck/head postuee than lots of horses in dressage?
Want one of those Appaloosas!!! Great breed!!!
"A" PLUS FOR EFFORT!!! VERY NICE!!! WELL DONE!!!
Such a beautiful partnership, amazing work
Beautiful pattern. Ive started working my gelding on these types of patterns. I just wish this was bigger around me, we mainly have tho pool noodle obstacles 🙄. And just a little advise, your curb strap is a little to loose causing the bit to over rotate, you want it to rotate no more then 45⁰ yours is rotating about 90⁰. And I'd trim those reins up to, they're to long, a couple times I saw them touch the ground and were very close to being stepped on. I've seen it happen a couple times before which resulted is a bad freak out and one time the horse ripped a tooth out. I had it happen to me once at a walk when I had to shorten my reins while schooling my gelding. Luckily I trained him to remain calm when he steps on the lead line or reins so he didn't freak out.
What a fabulous go! Now that is a trail course, kudos to a great horse and ride.
Thats one heck of a horse. I need one with that kind of handle. 2 of my horses could make that course, but it wouldn't be anywhere near this pretty. Beautiful gelding and an awesome rider.
This combination is a pleasure to watch.👍
Good job!
That is a beautiful horse - some of the obstacle work just seems unnecessarily convoluted and difficult.
That’s the point. This is a Mountain Trail Competition, it’s a trail riding event with obstacles inspired by what riders and horses would experience out on trails, just on steroids
Nice ride!!!!

That was awesome!!
lovely to watch . I thought it was cute how he wanted to play in the water with his nose. The young lady rides with a really nice, emphatic seat. Yep, those long reins had me a bit worried.
Question for anyone good with coat colours:
What would you call the colouring around the face, neck and legs. It seems very unique, almost like he’s in the last stage of totally greying out
He’s an Appaloosa stallion. If I had to guess, he doesn’t have any grey gene. My guess is that he has some base colour like black or blue roan with white Appaloosa markings on top. That’s my non-professional opinion.
That's just typical appaloosa markings. There's a ton of them with face and leg markings like that in my area. It looks like his a black base with appy over it. Definitely not gray and doesn't really look like blue roan, but his pattern could cover up a minimal roan.
Varnish
Legs - varnish , would guess as a young horse was very dark with white blanket & a few spots in the blanket.
poor quality video, but a nice ride
