I personally would never advise anything like this. Though, as you say only from your own source. Absolutely, filter media. I'm 56, and have kept fish since I've been 18. I miss Maidenhead, it's where I used to get all my aquarium supplies back when I lived that way and was still keeping fish. Great place, and nice to have staff that are friendly and actually care about the customer getting the best experience whilst making sure the fish are cared for appropriately

You two work well together and always make me smile‼️❣️‼️ But...WHY no Africal Rams/ Dwarf Cichlids ⁉️‼️⁉️. Are they more lake than river fish? Years ago...about 55 yrs...I kept tropical fish. I had 13 tanks my parents hung on the living room wall. Of course I had every common fish I could find and bred most of them. My Rams were my favorite. One thing I liked was their shape... but of course, color is exceptional!
Not enough videos on UA-cam about fresh water tanks. They are so so so much more interesting than Salt Water tanks. I had an 8 Ft tank myself what I lived in the USA.
So good to watch the whole series in one go.. 2 hours long, but well worth it. Good job MD, even if Fish Shop Mat ( must be hard work, working & keeping MD entertained, whilst waiting for a baby to arrive) got in the way alot, LOL!! Awesome job guys... I love these style lights. I’m definitely going to get myself a couple. The Flickr is awesome very shimmery. I must say though the stock of fish you had in the 8 foot previously were definitely more up my street. You could’ve kept those fish and done an artificial plants Scape they would’ve loved it 😢

Beautiful aquarium! One small issue though. The Rope Fish are secretive killers, and they can eat fish larger than you would think. They latch on and spin like a log in a log rolling contest. They snag off bits, and pieces until their prey is gone. This almost always happens in the dark of the night. I don't believe this has ever been caught on camera, or written about but it's true.
i would prefer to walk into a shop like that(its awesome looking/clean..everything you want in a local fish shop)and see an 8 foot tank with the same fish set up after a couple of years. LOOK see what YOU CAN DO kind of thing.

I love this tank, however how about painting or staining the stand grey so it blends in more. I always look at it's bright colour before I look at the tank, a little bit distracting!!
