@@MDFishTanks yes , not so long ago they where restricted to a single small body of water in a small area named teuchitlan and even there they were outnumbered by guppies and other small fish , but now with reintroduction programs they are being introduced to other rivers where it formally existed and so far they have been successful, so hopefully will see more of them in the future !
Yes you guys have to open a fish shop it would be great and with you two working together and your knowledge it would be great. Matt should also show other Maidenhead Aquatic shops how to be run as some are awful.
@Fernando Lazo what can you tell me about the native area? The terrain, the conditions of the water & natural substrate/hardscape, the plants? These are a bucket-list fish for me & I would want to set up a biotope type tank for them. Love to see these fish highlighted! Beautiful scape MD!
yeah definitely. I get spoke to and selfies all the time when I'm in there but feels a bit narcissistic to put it in the video 😂😂 People have been travelling far to come see the scapes and Matt as well which is so awesome.
Yes! Travelled from California to southwest England this month and made sure to include a stop at the shop to see MD’s and Matt’s tanks. Beautiful!! It was also amazing to see the rays and puffer fish tank!
I spent an hour clearing the duckweed out of my salvinia when I recently moved houses and redid my setup. Plants in my new setup have been suffering (having trouble with the light/nutrient balance) but any guess what's thriving in my tank? The DUCKWEED I thought I'd killed already!!!
@@sunflowermouse307 lmao, one time i bought some shrimp and there was some duckweed that hitchhicked along with it, it was prob around prob on date 1-9-2022 and now my tank is covered in T H I C C layer of duckweed now ill have to redo my setup....but ya know the gold fish loves it!!
Lol, I got duckweed in my plant shipment yesterday. It's a package deal, foreground, midground, and background and a floating plant. 😢😂 Duck. Weed. Sigh. But, I can't bring myself to just toss it, so plopping it in and using it to balance my tank by daily changes 😅 making it work for me getting rid of excess nutrients in my new set up. 🎉

Greetings from Maryland🇺🇸 Edit: Kudos to MD for another outstanding Aquascape. Also, a big shout out to Matt for helping to save an endangered species. You guys are the best!
I love MD's "normal" scape videos ofc but the collabs between MD and Matt have become my favorites on the channel, you guys play off of each other very well! I've also never heard of the Tequila Splitfin, beautiful fish!
This is my favorite tank I've seen you set up! Your love of plants overpowers the fish almost every time, and your overloaded tanks are overgrown so quickly! You obviously love setting up tanks more than you enjoy looking at them. This one is way more balanced, and will be more easily maintained.
Just come back from @fish shop Matt spent lots of time explaining the differences between salt and fresh water my son has now got a small fresh water system (very slightly over planted) now just waiting a week before the fish come. Thanks Matt for taking the time with him.
The videos featuring MD and Matt are a real and proper treat for viewers. They brighten my day. I think if you had to put a number on it, the two of you together are making the world a better place by .3 per cent with each new video. More please!
Yes you two do need to open your own shop! Matt should also show other Maidenhead Aquatics how to run a store and fish tanks and fish stocks. Some of them are awful but his store looks amazing.
The whole world benefits, literally, from these shop setups; Matt's shop, MD, the rest of the world. Thanks for another cool scape, and fostering some fish.
My first time seeing the tequila splitting was in San Antonio Texas’s Zoo. They had/have a breeding program to help with reintroduction. This factor is why I absolutely love this hobby. It has done damage to wild populations, like the endlers, but so many people are now working on reintroduction. I love It!
Matt is Pearl People very kind like him are very rear to find now a days by the way another master piece by you sir thanks for making this hobby more interesting Lots of Love from Pakistan Stay Blessed
So enjoyable MD and Matt! The scape is different from what you normally do but no less beautiful. I'm sure the fish will be happy and multiply quickly.
The biggest joy of watching your video's is the fun you have together and the fantasy to be alle to pick everything you want for free in the aquariumshop
I’m liking Matt’s involvements in these videos (this one and the pea puffer one). Less ‘nature aquarium’ more aquascape. I’d like to see a bit of friendly competition between you to, maybe do the hard scape for a tank each side by side and we vote which one is the best? And then that gets planted.
This is probably one of my top 3 scapes 🥰🥰🥰 looks amazing and those fish are so kewl .... Be nice if Matt did a Profile on them 😁 Great Job and Great FUN 🥳
In all fairness matt has been leveling up his aquascaping eye. And yeah, an MD FISH TANK gallery would sound nice. Maybe get george farmer to scape one tank for you. Great content! Cheers from the Philippines
You should also do an N-class Endler tanks/breeding project series!!!! A bunch of small tanks, since they are basically extinct in the wild. That would be so cool!!!
Well I’ve been wondering how I should aquascape my 20 gal endler tank. Guess I need to buy some rocks now! Thanks again for a wonderful video Matt. Can’t wait to see what you create next. Have a lovely day.
In my personal opinion the hardscape looks incredible, just like a mini valley. However you overdid it with the planting, the grass in front, the stems I feel like should have been brought forward, atleast one piece. But man those rocks are cool. Great job!
Another amazing video, guys. I can't get enough of this channel! The tank looks absolutely fantastic, I really love it. I must come up and see it - and get some of that water lettuce!

Hi there MD, me and my 9yr old grand daughter love your vids. We are looking to move into proper aqua scapping. We currently have 3 smallish tanks. 20L 30L and 60L. But we made a big mistake some months ago, we saw some really pretty fish and we told they were community fish and chilled, but they aren't. We had 6 - turned out 5 females and 1 male. We now have 1 male and 1 female and approx 6 or 7 babies. But we've had to put the male in with my husbands silver dollars and he's a bit of a bully. They have wrecked the little tank. Destroyed all the planting. They are criminal cichlids? Beautifully marked, but a nightmare. We had to separate the parents as after they'd killed off the other females he just wanted to breed - constantly. So he'd keep killing the babies. But we are a bit overwhelmed with them. Went to our local Maidenhead said do you want them? As soon as we said what they were it was like erm No. What do we do with them? They're really beautiful but not really suitable for amateur fish keepers like ourselves. I did read up on them a bit - won't make that mistake again. We had to buy the 60L tank to take the remnants of GD's little fish that he hadn't killed. What do we do? Any advice gratefully received. Xx
They look like a species of Killifish I used to catch in the brackish water estuaries off Long Island, NY. They could live in either brackish or fresh water and were also livebearers.

U two guy's is so funny but always don great job we'll done 👍✅
Hey, again a beatifull tank. But i have a question, on a pot filter is a inline heater good or is a heater insite the aquarium better?
Love the long videos btw😎
