We both love le bistro and totally got you pre cruise and post salvation of our favorites snails and Dover , nice touch the dom for birthday - looking forward to next upload - as you know we are loyal ncl haven ,cheers from dubai
Very nice to meet you and Meli on my first cruise. Your Vlog was part of the inspiration to take my first cruise. Now I am hooked. Great content put me down for 71 drinks for you both. That Stella goes down easy.
So happy to see you and Meli are a couple now. Y'all make great travel partners. My mom's birthday is also on Valentines Day. I discovered your vlogs after watching UA-cam vids on Norwegian Getaway. We booked our first cruise in Sept. 2024 in Greece/Turkey and your vlogs were very informative. Continue your travel adventures with Meli and look forward to more of your vlog. Cheers!!!
Wow! Melli got a promotion! ❤. Congrats! I watched your video, sitting at the Fort Lauderdale airport, waiting for my flight back home, after a week on the NCL Joy, two weeks after you. It already brings a lot of nostalgia. I can not wait to see the rest. I had dinner at Le Bistro last night. I recognize a few people working there. I had the same lamb dish as Melli. So Yummy!!! Can’t wait for part 2. Thanks for doing this. Ben PS: I am on the same page as you about entertainment. It was sub-par.
Hi Bram. Great video! Thank you! Today I booked the NYE cruise on the Joy. Then I went looking for recent videos to see what it looks like after dry dock. I'm so glad that I found this video! I usually cruise on Carnival, so I'm really interested to prepare myself for the NCL experience. (I cruised on the Bliss in 2018 or 2019 for NYE. I thought it was a beautiful ship, but a little sedate for me. I'm older now and married, so let's see how I feel about the Joy.) Thank you again. I'm about to look for the next videos!
Thanks for the support! Part 2 of the vlog will be out next Saturday, it has all the new stuff featured. Hope you like it! Let me know after the cruise how it compared to Carnival to you. 😎
NEVER enough! I can't wait for the next one! So you speak french! Alors laisse- moi te dire que tes blogs sont pour moi, meilleurs qu'une série NETFLIX!😊
Great vlog Bram as always. We cruised on Joy a few years ago and loved it. Not sure about the cutbacks as it seems everything is being scaled down like the quality of entertainment...You both seem more than capable of making your own...😊
Great video, Bram. You’ve brought back some good memories of the same trip on Encore a few years back! Don’t know about you but we much prefer Breakaway class ships to Prima. Looking forward to Part 2 👍🏻
I "joined" your channel when you were visiting the Getaway, and after not to Long went on the Getaway myself as my first ever cruise, is thank to you that I knew the interesting part of the ship especially entertainment, like Syd Norman and the Headliners. Did not loose a day. The Joy looks very similar, so I'm curious on how this vlog will come along and if you will get "bored" on this much sea days.
Really interesting to watch this series Bram, I saw this repositioning cruise for the feb half term and was very interested - it seemed an extremely good price. Unfortunately we already had another trip planned which we couldn't really move so look forward to seeing how you got on with all those sea days. Cheers
Very good video, as always! It looks like fun on that ship, especially the food. Hey, it was good that you clarified that people over 60 don't have to be in bed by 10. I am always worried about not having night parties or night clubs on the ships I sail on and I am in my late sixties (don't tell anyone).
Late watching one of your videos here. Love the production value and the dry sense of humor you have. Many vloggers just pump out quantity over quality. Not you! Background music is always first rate as mentioned earlier.
Thanks Todd! Don't underestimate how motivating comments like yours are to me. Especialy when you also mention the music. I challenged myself never to use the electronic beats music everyone uses. I often go through hundreds of songs before I find the right one. Anyway, thanks once again!
Back a broad. I mean back aboard. ha ha ha. Glad to see you are still making videos. Invest in two mics it will help with muting the background noise. You know me always throwing my two cents in. How long did you stay in Miami?
Your 2 cents are very much appreciated! Still trying to figure out how to combine the mic receiver with the 360 camera without having to drag around a full mini production team 😅😅😅 We were in Miami for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Taking 12 days off also means doing overtime at work before and after. The unfortunate reality 🤣
@@BRAMSEASTHEDAY I think they are bluetooth cordless now. I see them on several You tube channels. It really brings the production up several notches. Much clearer audio. By the way I never miss an episode. the other viewer was correct, your music was great. You do a great job editing.
I know but still, wireless mics need a receiver. Not ideal to attach to a gopro. And the ones that are seperate need a ton of editing getting the timing right. I'm aware this would improve the audio, I'm just ignoring the issue 🤪 I'm so far behind on editing as it is. Thanks for the support and welcomed opinions Jack! Comments like this improve my videos 😎
We love the huge Observation Lounge on the Encore. But there was a good 10 night Alaska on the Joy so we booked it for 2025. I’m concerned the revised Observation Lounge in Joy will be way too small and crowded now.
Your concerns are just, I'm afraid. I'll share the area in the next episode but if you see it on the map, it's safe to say the Joy lost 25% of the area before. The lounge was pretty much packed all through our Transatlantic sailing...
11 night cruise. 70 some drinks seems low to me. 140 to be conservative with some off days being on a cruise for that long with few port days in my experience. Mostly drink beer though here. Keep editing this as I reflect on my past cruises...
11 a day average? Could be. But I was sure my gf wouldn't go over 5 gin tonics per day. Some days yes. But not 11 days in a row. It was cheecky of me letting her bet first 😜😜😜
@@BRAMSEASTHEDAY It is tough to predict for sure. Our last 2 cruises were 12 and 11 nights. Stayed in our cabin the final day on both as burned out seeing people and drinking with the ship fully booked. Eating in the cabin only. How people go on longer cruises is beyond me. Actually, did a few b2b's after the restart for 14 nights as they were so cheap and under capacity, but don't ever seeing that happening again. Took a few shorter 4 and 5 night cruises closer to the restart where you had to wear a mask onboard from nearby Tampa as it was cheaper than staying at home and less than half ship capacity. Have a Princess 10 night cruise booked in October that I am about to cancel as reality has set in before final payment and not worth the higher price to me after getting bargains in the recent past. The under capacity sailings spoiled me also. Loved NCL back in the SS Norway days, but lack of traditional dining now turned us off. TMI, but being an old fart having done our first cruises on NCL in the 90's it was what we got used to. Love the cheecky phrase!

I took my 1st ncl last month to mediterranean and I'm now hooked. Great video.
Who have you sailed with in the past?
Love your background music for the embarkation, really suitable for such an epic event 😊

Is there a next video after? Very interested in seeing the rest of the Joy.
Most definately. Working on it for over a week now. Asap! 😎

another great vlog Bram! I'm a gin & tonic girl too.
Sana how many would you drink in 11 days? It's a scary idea to guess actually 🤣
maybe 33 at most. I'm a light weight though. Meli can double that

And my guess is 80+ 🍸 (all sea days, 😂)
Couldn't agree more about Breakaway class ships!
The bet was 65/66 EACH!
I wish it was timestamped on subject matters. Just a suggestion with it being so thorough and lengthy. 😊
Great comment Courtney! I'll get on it! Thx 😎
