Dudley from Street Fighter 3 and 4 was my favourite boxer from the Street Fighter franchise. Great design, Royal British accent one of the standout characters in the series for me.

so dope when a fighting game character reflects the fighting style you're familiar with it helped me learn street fighter better when i picked up balrog in sfv and just thought about the spacing and counter hit game like a boxing match
Balrogs spacing was amazing and his 3 hit combos came out lightning quick if you knew when the hit stunned them.
You gotta try Dudley in the other Street fighters, Thrid Strike Specifically

the only same thing in their fighting style is that they're boxers, but in terms of boxing style they're vastly different Ed is more of an outboxer while Steve is a boxer-puncher (all-rounder) being able to outbox and infight seamlessly.
So basically Ed from Street Fighter series... but with the bob & weave effect...

I'd argue the jab taking just a second longer is pretty accurate, given how things play out. A jab in boxing covers more distance so it ultimately has to take more time, and part of the art of boxing is disguising that start-up time or using your conditioning to go above and beyond on speed. On the other hand, an appropriately timed uppercut in the right situations can be faster in the sense that there's less distance to cover and the opponent might literally cut your start-up short by walking straight into your uppercut.
Given that the "jab" in the game that actually looks like a jab still covers the most range, only has a -1 to -2 difference, and it disguises you moving in closer on your opponent with the foot game, I'd say that's accurate. And then the fact that the uppercut opens up so many combos but also requires you to close that distance first with something like the jab makes the uppercut pretty true to form in that it's functionally a pretty "fast" punch once you're in range for it to connect right.
You can tell that flicker jab was directly inspired by Hajime no Ippo
