You could always tell which songs were predominantly written by him and I also thought it was sick that he occasionally contributed harsh vox. On a personal note he wrote the song Heart about losing his dad and I lost mine when I was 16 so I always felt a connection there.
@@slyholio Yeah, Heart hit so differently when I read the lyrics and found out it was about Alan's father. And his vocals on Impulse really added so much to that album, having three different people contribute to the band's voice makes it feel so much more alive. I felt a connection with ERRA ever since I listened to Eye of God when I discovered them in 2019, their music just does something that no other band can for me. The Artificials are really enjoyable to listen to, hearing Alan's guitarwork is so special.

Come up with a general idea, then write it out in tab software and manipulate the notes, then you learn it on real guitar. It's how most metal bands write this stuff. It works great
Keep in mind, love jesse so much, but he is self taught so he doesnt know any reference points or actual vocab. He knows alot but its hard for him to teach when it just comes naturally for him
Jesse is a god, and I love him and the album, but 5th and 7th string? I think 3rd and first is what they should be referred to. At least traditionally.

@@invay69 Sure, I agree. But Impulse and Augment are two of the greatest albums I've ever heard in my life, and I've heard plenty of the old and new. Those albums definitely do not lack the conception of music and melody. Some of the best guitarwork and song structures out there.
