22:46 Shaun Pollock clearly layed out the rule, immediately after the game. The boundary is where the rope is - if a fielder did a slide and pushed the rope out - then that’s where the new boundary is - until someone corrects it
more importantly it seems like the rope was shifted when Nortje crashed into the boundary trying to save the four by Kohli in the very first over. So the rope stayed that way for 39 overs.
bit weird they don't already know this
Boundary "dimensions" in cricket are non existent, unlike Football or most other sports
It can be 80m, 60m, oval, circle..... literally ANYTHING
Exactly, thank you. That's the rule from eons. People just don't know the basic rules of the game 😂
@@niharsrisrimaal963 They know the rules very well. Just a bunch of salty Aussies, Poms, and Pakis looking for some imaginary issue to tar ICT with.
the problem is, they did not show enough angles in live review. they rushed the decision. that's where people find that could be a blunder. i mean 3rd umpire obviously knows better cricket rules but why give people a chance to find something fishy. same things happened in 2019 final. it was a blunder.
Fellas the rope was likely shifted when Nortje crashed into it trying to save that four in the first over by Kohli. So it most likely stayed that way for the rest of the 39 overs. Unless someone proves that the rope was shifted right before Miller hit that shot, it's a fair catch.
Seeing a brown team win, they are holding onto a rope. These are such a stupid kind or do they think Indians are idiots, not to understand .
Catch is not important. Klassen nicked a slow wide one first ball after a dodgy break. It was over right there. Well played India. Can we borrow Bumrah?❤
Sorry but no, he is precious to us....
❤@@raishukumari8155
It wasn't a dodgy break!
No bumrah is national treasure
Currently, I'm at number 145.67Lacs in line to sit on his nectar buds. We can talk about loaning stuff later mate Orggs
The rope was pushed back by Nortjye in the 1st over of the game.
The rules say that the plastic thingy is the boundary now. So a fair catch.
Whilst not answering the substance of the question, it does annoy me when boundaries are not symmetrical and snaking around. One would think that all grounds should just have a painted line and get the advertising stuff beyond it.
As per the laws, The boundary is where the object used to indicate a boundary originally was placed, so technically it was a six but its on the officials to identify not a player
Jay Shah said yesterday that the focus of BCCI now is the 2025 Champions Trophy and WTC final with the seniors playing a big part of it.
If India wins both, imagine the reaction from other countries.
Champions Trophy - India may not participate due to the threat for Indian life in Pakistan
Won 1 trophy in last 11 year, Jay shah can buy icc but he can buy pedigree, wtc final they will face Australia, even god cricket won't win them final against Australia,
So true. My favourite part was Indian team not winning against Australia in this year's t20 wc final. Oh wait@@nitinpatel1039
@@nitinpatel1039if they reach finals? aussies reach test finals cause it's one of the four nations which is playing test the most, they reach ODI CWC finals cause the format was league, if it was a Group stage they were out, just like t20 world cup and champions trophy is a group stage cup, Aussies are great cricketers but they can be beaten and they have been beaten in semis and finals before. They haven't reached champions trophy final in last 10 years
@@nitinpatel1039 Womp Womp .India have thrashed everyside in tests irrespective of the venue .2021 final we lost become of rain and 2023 wtc we had no bumrah which makes huge difference .Even Iyer pant injured
C'mon boys. You cant bring sandpaper mentions in the boundary rope thing. Nobody in the Indian team was aware of it, nor was it their responsibility to be aware of it. It is an umpiring/officiating error. Aus did the sandpaper thing on purpose.
It wasn't even unfair. The rope likely stayed that way starting from the very first over of the game when Nortje crashed into it.
They are trying to bring some controversy to belittle India’s victory because Aus crashed out from super 8s. There has never been a bigger example of cheating than what Ponting, Symonds, Steve Buckner and Mark Benson did during the Sydney test in 2008. And the came Sandpaper gate. And here they are forcefully trying to find fault in India’s World Cup victory. Can’t expect better from Aussies
They didn't bring sandpaper into it. They were joking that you lot would abuse them and bring up sandpaper because you wouldn't be happy when them even bringing up the notion that the boundary was in the wrong position. And they were right.
@@c3vzn i understand that. Like I said, it was an umpiring error. But one can also infer that them bringing it up implies they are taking away some of that shine from the win. Again, not saying that is their intention. But people can chose to infer that.
@@harjot21 If you infer that, then that's your problem. There are articles being written about it, including Indian publications and it's an interesting topic for a podcast so why wouldn't they? Maybe Indian fans would watch 2 hours of them glorifying the team but the rest of us would find it boring as hell.
Congrats Higgos on the engagement! Much love from 🇮🇳.
22:55 i am also not sure but
I think the rope was pushed 1 metre farther before the start of game
And the marks were made by ropes before today
It means in whole match ropes was in same place
It was for whole match like that ,
Do we know this for sure? Someone else said it was Nortje that pushed the rope, trying to stop a boundary of Kohli, and didn't correct it.
@@sharathsh9987 Whatever it is, SKY didn't touch the physical boundary and the catch is clean.
@sabertrat the catch is clean, I don't think anyone's it's not. The laws are also clear: wherever the boundary lines ends up is where the new biundary line is. I'm just wondering about all this other stuff.
@@sharathsh9987As per the laws, The boundary is where the object used to indicate a boundary originally was placed, so technically it was a six but its on the officials to identify not a player
Guys, the cut-off age to be an India coach is 60. Dravid is only 51 so if he wanted he could probably have been retained by BCCI as India coach BUT Dravid wanted to call it a day...
And you really thought they were being real and missed the sarcasm and malicious intent behind the question? Get some brains bruh.
Hmm I didn't see any sarcasm either on the Dravid conversation. Have to hear it again 😊. I usually get it but I guess I have lost my mojo
There are many matches on a ground during a tournament. Different pitches are used. Boundary is shifted when different pitches are used. Marks on grass are from previous matches.
Either from other matches or Andre in the very first over shifted it when he chased a boundary by Virat Kohli.
Trust unnecessary controversy for Indian Wins! People are a heck of a lot jealous about India, for the past decade in general!

A Boundary rope is not set right every now and then or after each ball. So the rope position is the boundary.
Always a delight listening to you both. Cheers boys!
Thank you for your service boys 🥳🇮🇳
Never thought I'll see 2 guys in underwear in the corner while watching a cricket show 😂😂
Great Stuff - Great cricket!
Guys throughout all three tournaments taking from 50 overs wc World & ipl all the way to this world cup you've beeb phenomenal & didn't let me feel anything except for cricket so we're so enjoyed of your shown& will be waiting for your upcoming episodes of the next game so until then have some rest & enjoy the life thanks guys
The proverbial rope was moved by Marco Jansen while trying to stop a boundary in the first over of the match. So thank you very much Marco.
India won by 5 runs against Pakistan in 2007, by 7 runs against South Africa, what an innings in final by Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Bumrah turned the match, Sky caught the catch of the tournament. Roko legendary retired after winning T20WC glory for India, Indian team will never be same after Roko, Jadeja retired and will be missing in dugout. It was a clean catch if boundary cushions are disturbed it's ICC officials problem to place it properly, India is coming to Champions trophy to win it in subcontinent batting conditions with spin and seam coming in picture as match progress in late winter on placid batting wickets in Pakistan.
Both teams played well and deserve respect .Congratulations India and really well played South Africa also we wouldnt have imagined such a thrilling match in final.
Great conversation with Brettig. Always interesting to hear how cricket is being consumed in different countries.

So how do we wrap up the world cup?
We met Kohli ❌
Afghanistan defeated us ✅
At 26:33 Indian players r not like WI,PaK,Eng players who will go back on their words and come back from retirement if there is a wc near...1st reason- There is more than enough talent in Ind that they wouldn't need Ro,VK and Jaddu to comeback and help them win Icc tourney...2nd- These decesions r not taken lightly or just in the heat of the moment... Kohli had already said that even they would've lost the match he would've retired and he won't go back on his words same goes for Ro and Jaddu.
U guys crossed 300k .. congract ..
21:56 Yes, it's amazing to see some hate from foreign media and also the suck up, but somehow I'm enjoying the hate more. so this is how it feels to dominate & WIN. I think for the 1st time in history India has a chip over some of the best teams in the world - like Afg could make a semi in CT but they don't show up against India same could be said against SA? Aus has already got the token win in 2023 so they can't win 2025 CT in Pak that's the rule (& I don't make them) so India starts favorite for CT in Pak.
India will not go to Pakistan. I hope you know it.If you do not, you should know it.
well i guess you got that 30,000 subs❤❤❤
The boundary is where Suryakumar Yadav is. Sky is the limit.
You guys are phenomenal 👌👍Your channel deserve more subscribers.. At least 1 million😘but for this you have to include some reaction videos in between your analysis. And also make some interviews of more Indian players.. That will be so fun.. Thoughts.. 👍👌
10:24 Tough luck Saffas! You guys were amazing! I’m sure your team will win one soon! This result, as much as it hurts, will propel the team! Look no further than what happened over the last 7 months with the team that beat you! Good luck!
I have always wondered about the boundary rope position whenever players dive near the boundary. Players set the rope themselves. Unlike in the case of stumps, where umpires inspect the stumps when a player puts the bells or fists the stump, they don't inspect the boundary rope. The only conclusion I came up with is that the rope's position can change (a bit), and the boundary is where the rope is, not where it was before ball one. Kind of a grey area. Who arbitrates the rope position? 3rd umpire?
19.2.1 Wherever practicable, the boundary shall be marked by means of a continuous white line or by an object in contact with the ground.
19.2.3 If the boundary is marked by means of an object that is in contact with the ground the boundary will be the edge of the grounded part of the object which is nearest the pitch.
19.3 Restoring the boundary
If a solid object used to mark the boundary is disturbed for any reason, then
19.3.1 the boundary shall be considered to be in its original position.
19.3.2 the object shall be returned to its original position as soon as is practicable; if play is taking place, this shall be as soon as the ball is dead.
This still leaves a lot open to interpretation, but this is what is stated in the official rulebook.
43:45 Cricket. Sports. And toddlers. Wow ❤
There is no confusion regarding the fairness of catch. The match replay is available free in hotstar..people can go and check there is a replay after Miller walks off the ground from a different view( sort of a bird's eye view from front) where it is clearly seen that Surya was well within the boundary ropes..and the third umpire obviously has got many monitors in front of him and more angles than actually broadcasted..
Regarding the shifting of the ropes, first of all it was not done by Nortje while chasing the boundary in the first over of Indian innings(as suggested by some) as the boundary happened in opposite end of the ground...but it is utterly dumb to assume that someone from Indian team has shifted the ropes at the exact same location where that catch was to happen and no one from the SA camp or any other non Indian supporting people have seen it and objected against it..the match happened on a new pitch and the ropes were prolly adjusted well before the match in which case the ropes stands the actual boundary for both the innings played.
These are just narratives created by some people to satisfy their own views and ego and to help themselves sleep at night.
Rope moved in the first inning due to a dive to save a four you can see in highlights
Well articulated..manifest of emotions of Indian fans after World cup win
Hi both of u guys doing great job
Hey brothers. Where can i watch the interview of Ravi Sastri interview that u did in new york?
To answer your question on where the line is - Given that the rope or toblerone is used to determine whether its a six or a four, then its also used to determine whether its a catch or not (whether the foot touched or didn't). I hope this clears the air. Controversy for its own sake is not a good idea.
Finally, you got 300k subs.
Ian you are too old, but for me the first ever memory to get into cricket was India wining the T20 WC back in 2007, I loved the game ever since then

@26:33 boys, there’s the champions trophy before the next ODI World Cup. That’s what Kohli and Rohit are targeting.
Mate studio looks great..👌👍 Make some reaction video of Indias celebration of t20 wc. Or make some public interviews
a big congrats to my brothers from UK and australia for reaching semi and group stage respectively well deserved and congratulations on losinh to india hehe
I was there at the ground in the TV commentary box and can tell that the white line that's in question here was not the boundary. The boundary rope wedge was behind that white line and this was the case from the start of the match.
When the pitch is changed, the boundaries are adjusted. This is a normal practice. This can lead to leaving of white mark on the ground from the previous placement of the boundary rope wedges.
It's clear from the picture that the whole boundary rope was pushed back and not any particular spot. It's not a case where a fielder knowingly displaced the boundary rope and the ground staff did not put it back to its right place to give a side undue advantage.

One of the best broadcaster was Shane Warne because he was one of the greatest cricketer as well as most generous man playing cricket.
I would have loved to hear what he would have said after this match. He would have supported both SA and India.
As per the laws, The boundary is where the object used to indicate a boundary originally was placed, so technically it was a six but its on the officials to identify not a player
Nortje moved the rope when he tried to stop the straight drive from Kohli in the 1st over. We should blame Jansen 😂
What's that on the top right corner of the video
For SA. There has been many occasions in T20 WC when runner-up won next trophy.
Australia - the paragons of Test cricket. Not playing enough overseas test matches, not playing enough at home against tier 2/3 teams.
Bumrah is the Bumrah of cricket. Period. No metaphor required.
About sky's catch there is no way someone can go and move the boundry line unless the ball goes to that line u can see in the whole match in hotstar the only time the ball went that side was in the first over where nortje pushed the boundary far away so it was there from first over it was all fair
@TGC, just watch the victory parade on Marine Drive, Mumbai today and it shows what is cricket is to India. (Although, I still believe, the best is One day world cup and test championship which is due to come over next few years)

Can someone explain the catereres reference?
Wow, it's the first time I'm seeing a guy in a lavender colored hoodie
37:35 Pezza clearing his throat to drown out the sound of his heartbreaking after hearing what Higgos just said.
The boundary rope / cardboard mini hoardings with lots of ads, are a problem, Sometimes when they shift due to fielder kicking them, they are not placed back in exact position.
They should just use white lines like football next time and use the ball boys or curators to adjust it every time it is moved.
Regarding the boundary rope, you can’t put it outward in all direction, here it’s few inches outwards, some where it’s a little in, imagine if there is 6, would you say it’s not? As a Indian maybe I would but seriously, come on. 😅
Hey BOYS,
Did some research, here for your optics. On the laws of the catch
19.1.1 Before the toss, the umpires shall determine the boundary of the field of play, which shall be fixed for the duration of the match
19.3 Restoring the boundary
If a solid object used to mark the boundary is disturbed for any reason, then
19.3.1 the boundary shall be considered to be in its original position.
Waiting for a spoof episode called The Grade Caterers
In bits listening to you reading the Myra Hindley stuff and panicking as you realised the reference. In the UK it seems to happened just about long enough ago that it's just about socially acceptable to make jokes about.
Fabulous podcast 🙏, factual, great critique and assessment.
Women's T20 Asia Cup and World Cup starts in 5 and 10 mins respectively
It's a parallax effect btwn the spike of sky, the grass and the bottom of the cushion (white line). If you watch full vedio and zoom from both angle it's some grass plugged out and comes off in front of white line of blue cloth (cushion). More clear from RHS angle. You can check it from icc uploaded vedio or hotstar. Some pak and SA fan spread a vedio of 3 sec from LHS angle with in appropriate zoom angle and poor quality vedio. Too make more confusion. That bottom of cushion was 1 or 2 cm behind to touch the shoe. It's grass comes off with some soil. Parallax effect. That's why education is important.

Aus actually had a very strong team. Their batting actually let them down. Tim David is an extremely overrated player, in my opinion. Even in the IPL, he has flattered to deceive and underperformed.

Here's a question to ponder upon: Considering that T20 cricket will be a regular feature in the Olympics (hopefully!) for the next decade or so, should cricket boards of countries be investing in creating a team specific for the Olympics - this will ensure that the regular bilateral, franchise leagues keep going on as usual, while another section of Olympians get trained in the T20 format, and whenever there's a bench strength strangle, these Olympians can join the team for other assignments. This can be replicated in the men's and women's game, making sports a lucrative career for millions in the Asia-Pacific and EU/North American markets. I ask this, since I've been informed that being an Olympian needs a separate level of training to take on the pressures of a 4-year patient wait! A further ryder to this question - should we be moving to a multi-team, multi-format approach considering we have a growing number of cricket formats? #AskTGC
Should make a line or some sort of marker which doesn't move after a player dives or touches it , or employ people who put back the rope in place after a player touches it. Implement this going forward so no more controversies.
