Love the pic used above. I took that picture on June 10, 1994 at my Simple Solution Records offices. It was a joint birthday party for Kim, Kelley and me. It was their 33rd and my 36th birthdays and Guided by Voices played a free show for us at The Walnut Hills Bar in Dayton, Ohio that night. It's my favorite pic of Kim and Bob together.
Guided by voices and pixies. Straight from the playbook of a 90's stoner, bookworm, trying to find their purpose in life, college kid. Fucking brilliant.
i asked them to record this cover for my film "Love & a .45" in 1994. To my endless happiness they said yes. it's featured in the tattoo scene. i love "love hurts" by these two killer artists. thanks for posting -- yee-haa ;-)
Born and raised and still live in Dayton (suburb area)...never saw/ heard these great musicians back in the day..wish I would have. As I have grown older, I appreciate Kim/Kelley, GBV, Pollard, Macphearson, Sprout, Gillard..hell, all of the GBV members...great music.
+webby720 yes my brother the holy land of the Ohio river valley. what a great place to grow up in...ill always have a special place in my heart for Ohio 8). Also god bless Jason Molina one Ohio's favorite sons.He is missed.
the original is a bit cheesy for my taste, but i always liked it in a way because i could tell there was something in it that just wasnt fully captured by the original band. this version captures it perfectly. thank you so much
I need a hug from Kelley but I don't think she likes me. I'm going to Brooklyn next month to see the Breeders and I can't wait. This version is sleepy and emotive. It calls for a razor and a warm bath.
Yeah. I respect Bob and Joan as musicians, but I don't think they would cover this as well. I miss the loose but also serious way that rock bands used to sing and play in the 80s and early 90s.

Vic B WOW! I'm from Cincinnati and I've always loved the fact that some of the greatest rockers of all time hail from right up the street. Love it!!!!
That's awesome! I imagine it was a lively night xD
jesus christ what a story mister amazing
awesome. Incidentally I like this cover even over gram and emmylou's. And I worship them lmao
Appreciated

콘크리트 보도에 핀 민들레마냥 팝송 안에 작게 박힌 한국어, 단순하고 오래된 ‘안녕’이란 말이 참 예쁘고 서글프다 해줄 텐데_p.45

The 2 greatest bands of the 90s. Bob Pollard is a GOLDEN GOD.
*Breeders
There's something about hearing Bob's voice, paired with a beautiful female voice, singing a cover song - it's scary, beautiful and foreign.
In the 30 plus years I've listened to the breeders, how have I never heard this before?
Just that face Kim Deal is making always cheers me up.

Kim deal and Robert pollard - fucking brilliant pair of musicians right there.
Pollard should do more duets!
Dayton's best talent. Rock legends right out my front door
YOU ARE MY PEOPLE. Fuck YEAH.👍🏿🙏🏽💕👌🏾
Kim has the best female voice in alternative rock. Period. It's clear as a bell, expressive, and pitch perfect.
And she's so beautiful! I love the Deal sisters but Kim is just so cool! 😎
kim deal owns a vocal that melts your heart.
This is quite lovely. Kim Deal, I love you..........and Bob.
Jesus Christ I love Kim Deal so much
Me too.
Can't get better than these two... Ow my feels
The most important Daytonian duo: Kim and Bob. Followed by Orville and Wilbur.
I've always really loved the Gram and Emmylou version of this song but aww.. this is fucking GOLD. Their voices sound so lovely together
I love everything you've done Kim... 💘
The various wonderful versions of this song is a testament to what a great song it is.
3 CHORD BLISS IS TO BE ENSLAVED BY HUSTLERS, CUPCAKE!!
She has the voice of a goddamned angel.
HOLY SHIT! Didn't know this even existed. I'm in love now . . . .

I need a hug from Kelley but I don't think she likes me. I'm going to Brooklyn next month to see the Breeders and I can't wait. This version is sleepy and emotive. It calls for a razor and a warm bath.

The everlyvbrothers
prefiero el cover toda la vidaa!!!!
This is one of the best version of Love Hurts ever recorded. The ending could have been better, but still a great track!
I used to kinda hate this song...... not so much with this cover.
Right?!
Nazareth kicked this song's ass.
is it me or is it getting a little dusty in here? {sniff}
Fucking A man
:D
Joan Baez and Bob Dylan got nothin on this
Yeah. I respect Bob and Joan as musicians, but I don't think they would cover this as well. I miss the loose but also serious way that rock bands used to sing and play in the 80s and early 90s.
Four butthurt Joan Jett fans unliked this.
Do you mean Nazareth fans?
