The national gold reserves has nothing to do with commerical gold: mining and extraction. Different countries have their gold put in big countries where transactions are made just as a guarantee on the international market. So basically gold is used as a trust when you get a loan from financial markets.
On the contrary it has everything to do with commercial gold, it's as if you implying money is not backed by real gold, and if it is such gold is mined/extracted gold.still on that it's shocking how countries that don't mine it have amassed it much more than those that do🤔

Pretty sure it's the same with Canada. Maybe your country doesn't have much requirement for holding reserves esspecially if you have access to a lot just sitting in the ground. USA has tons in the earth but they also need tons outside of the earth in order to have an easily accessable supply for businesses that don't have time to wait for it to come out of the ground. If you don't have any businesses that actively need much golf it would make sense not to make the expense of storing reserves when you can just like the little you need as you need it. I'm pretty sure Canada sells a lot to USA so they don't store it. They just mine it and sell it because they have lots of gold in the ground with small population and not much demand for it except to USA
The fact that the US has about 75% of the known gold reserves of the world makes it a silly proposition for countries like China who have a trade surplus with the US to want to exchange their Treasury securities for gold. Increasing the demand for this commodity that is fixed in supply will increase its value and enable the US to pay off its trade debts more cheaply. This would actually be a good thing for the US to do, since it has such a vast reserve of gold. The future value of the gold that China might get would be less secure than if it were to have retained the Treasury certificates.
yeah apparently the US doesn't have massive gold mining production and untapped gold reserves. typical clueless 🤡uttering nonsense online and knows nothing what he's talking about.

We used to be no. 8 in Gold mining (until environmentalist stop most of them in the 90's) Besides having lots of Gold mines in Western and Southern US and Alska. The US gained a lot gold from the European powers during WW1 and WW2 when they sold or lend-lease them food, supplies and weaponry. It bankrupted both UK and Germany. The UK was only able to repay most it during the 80's, mostly in gold.
The only reason we didn't make Mexico a state is because then pur nations geographical outline would look like we have massive dick and balls and we like to pretend that's not the case
It seems as if the gold reserves have little effect on economic prosperity, looking at a few examples. I wonder what the point of having gold reserves is now , when everyone just prints money ?
Well Venezuela just printed a bunch of money and their inflation went up 280,000% when they had Maduros men executing people who wouldn't align with him in the streets. So it's safe to say gold in Venezuela is much more valuable than money in basically any amount. In USA the smallest piece of gold short of natural nuggets that you can buy from a certified mint is 1/10th ounce American eagle coins and they run for a tad over about 250 American Washingtons. So 1 dollar bills in USA do carry some significant value. Plus those 1/10th coins are federally backed currency too. You can't use them at the grocery store but they're technically worth their weight in gold so anyone who deals in gold is likely to accept them as a form of payment. I would. If I did 250 dollars worth of work I would be willing to accept 250 Washingtons, or a 1/10th ounce federally minted coin. Each are worth about the same. So it depends on what kind of currency you're talking about. USA makes a lot of currency and some is worth it and some is not. It depends. The mints usually stop making currency if it's not worth it unless you live in Venezuela but even in usa they just switch from solid copper pennies to copper plated zink so they could keep producing them for about same price as they're worth. It depends. You can buy federally backed gold coins from us mints that are meant to track the price of gold so they can both inflate and deflate on a day to day basis. Plus gold reserves do indicate signs of economic prosperity. It's obvious UK needs less than USA. Having no gold reserves can indicate there is no industry in a countries economy which requires gold. That or they produce eboufh gold they don't need reserves. USA economy requires gold in all kinds of different ways moreso than anyone so they need the largest reserves. so gold reserves can be used to indicate a lot

Well it's not stored forever. People use it for different purposes so it's good to have a supply built up just Incase you need it. The Romanian Treasure (Romanian: Tezaurul României) is a collection of valuable objects and the gold reserves (~120 tonnes) of the Romanian government sent to Russia for safekeeping during World War I. After the Romanian Army entered Bessarabia, at the time part of the Russian Empire, in early 1918, the new Soviet government that managed to rule Russia severed all diplomatic relations and confiscated the Romanian Treasure. As of today, only part of the objects and none of the gold reserves have been returned.[1]

I'm surprised Australia didn't have that much considering how much we have in the ground geographically.
And your country was under British rule for many years, who knows how much they took, same with Canada!!

Just for grins, at todays spot price a ton of gold is worth about 48.6 million dollars.
It seems as if the gold reserves have little effect on economic prosperity, looking at a few examples.
I wonder what the point of having gold reserves is now , when everyone just prints money ?
War time
Well Venezuela just printed a bunch of money and their inflation went up 280,000% when they had Maduros men executing people who wouldn't align with him in the streets.
It is printed as per value of the gold.
C'est plus intéressant pour un pays d'avoir des participations dans les grosses entreprises comme Apple, Google, Toyota ,shell ....
