👋🏽 Hey y'all, so I decided to create a video and picture backdrop using faux vines / faux ivy vines after seeing the thumbnail and then watching Ky Lashaii's, "My Filming Setup & Studio Room Tour." I thought hers was really cute so I ordered the faux vines.

I was hesitant at first because sometimes I'll see something that I think is cute on someone else and I'm like, that's cute on THEM or for them... it may not be the same on or for me. So, I did all this work and ended up taking them down. Yes, it was definitely cute, but too busy for me. I am a plain Jane.
I say this project can be completed for $25 because you may not have as big of a wall space to fill as I did. One set of 2 packs, with 24 vines may be enough for your space or your needs.

I remeber when i first got my vines they smelt bad but the smell went away after a few days
I just got mine and they smell sooo bad but you have to be right on then to even smell it

Dang this was an easy solution! I typically use push pins or thumb tacks but this is a great option too. The walk looks great! 🍃

I just had my mom and her boyfriend help put these over my bed since I’m too short, and they look awesome! They used thumb tacks, and it makes my room look more cozy and it makes the wall not look so boring and bland. I SO recommend these, have a great day!

When I use tape it keeps falling down and making me upset
Maybe try thumbtacks? (Only as a final option) and this is only if you’re going to use them sparsely, (you’re going to have to fold? them in half so they can hang)
The tape is NOT gonna stay. You re gonna need an extra long piece for it to stay a little longer, but I only used tape to get the placement right, then I took the tape off and replaced it with the hooks
Try using command hooks
Try wall putty

You can take the pack you have left over and do the same thing but have way down so the whole wall will look full like the top.

The command tabs are SUCH a good idea! I’ve been struggling to think of what to use. I also think having 2 different colored packs makes it look more realistic and blends. Your wall looks amazing!☺️

i can see a lot of peoples vines smell bad, i don’t know if they have it anywhere else but in the uk we have something called “febreze” try spraying it on them or some type of air freshener.

Yes, I think that would work. I have seen people put a neon sign over them... I say just try it

Hi! That’s a great question! I did not dust them.
But my ideas are to;
• Drape them on a hanger and rinse them in the shower.
• Run some water in a sink/bathtub and agitate them very gently (move them around)…. Just push the vines into the water a few times without swirling them. That would be a tangled mess.
•• Hang to dry in the shower or lay them on a towel.

I don’t remember how many vines and probably like 15 stickies. I did 2 layers.

Thumbtacks may work… hooks honestly are your best bet. Gotta be prepared with what you’re hanging and how you will hang them. I have the link to what I used in my description box next to this emoji > 🔗. Thanks for watching!
How long did the smell last? I bought some once that smelled for over a week of chemicals after it sat outside and ended up returning it

You buy the hooks separately. I hung my vines 83 inches from the floor... 1 inch short of 7 feet. From floor to ceiling, my wall is 10 feet.

Uhhh, maybe some super strong tape, poster board stickies like these > ( amzn.to/3Jd0JKy ) (Affiliate link), thumb tacks (if you can get them in the wall high enough, nails (with a hammer) through the vine part (not the leaves).

I bought packs from 2 different sellers because I was doing another project with them as well. I got 2 packs (24 vines) from one seller and 3 packs (36vines) from another.

Lightly textured… probably not popcorn textured though

Idk exactly… but I think I did either 2 or 3 on each hook

Idk.. I live in an apartment and I might get fined for putting command hooks up. They might chip the paint
if you are allowed to put nails in the wall, put 2 on each end, a row of string in between them and then wind the vines around the string , hope that helps x
If you pull them off right, it shouldn't. I pulled it straight up instead of the tab that's hanging and chipped mine ... blah

They are removable… they have a tab you pull. It shouldn’t peel the paint off but it is still a possibility
I wanted to do this for suddenly everybody is saying they see tons of spiders in theirs, what was your expiernce after a while of having fake views?

I’ve had a few small ones, but in your room in general, behind things you rarely move or in corners, you’ll get spider webs / spiders. If you never move your vines… I’m sure cobwebs will be in there. Now if I start seeing big ones, the vines gotta go.
What if you didn’t get the hooks and you threw the box away 3 days ago when you meant to grab the hooks out of the box. 😅

You can... use long pieces. When I used tape mine kept falling. The tape can chip your paint, but so can the command hooks if you don’t remove them properly.

how did you get the hooks to stay? i used the same command hooks and the hooks keep falling off even when i leave them up for an hour and clean the wall with rubbing alcohol
I just stuck them to the wall. Did you put the correct side of the sticky tab on the wall and hook? The red side of the film goes on the hook and the black side is removed before sticking them on the wall. Do you have high textured walls?

Mine didn’t stink that much, but I recommend letting some air out before hanging them up

I wouldn't put up as many as I did in my video. Maybe drape a few sideways across the top of the wall close to the ceiling.
