Maserati is going to be totally electric by 2025. I don't know how Maserati will be able to sell ANY electric automobiles, because it is the signature exhaust note that is different from the other high-end luxury autos. Mercedes cannot give away their electric cars. Last year they had a 2 year supply waiting to be sold.
Jaguar was doing a little better after they broke up with Ford (no surprise), but an all electric Jaguar...yeah, I'll pass. The manic push for all EV's now is beyond stupid.

It is a typical company that is far below German in quality but wants to be treated like one, far below Italian in design but wants to be treated like one. It was falling apart faster than Korean cars even in 90s and Korean brands were only about 20 years old at the time with the worst reputation.

Wind mills I have over 50 years as an electrician Take the amount KW these big wind mills put out an hour divided into the amount of electric we use a day in the USA. We will need 82,000 wind mills running 24 hours a day at maximum output. I spent a lot of time in the Thumb MI you never see them all running
In the previous video Scotty was rattling on about the blades breaking on GE windmills. General Electric is in charge of making the turbines, but chances are the wind blades are made by another company altogether.
I find Jaguar's current "aerodynamic" design language to be one of the best. Most everything else about them is meh. I have no idea what Jaguar calls the current body style, but it is a refreshing body style compared to your Mercs and Beamers which have managed to transform into hideously overstyled monstrosities.
My aunt bought a used jaguar. It's a pretty nice car, and hasn't had any major problems. Plus, the dealerships is fantastic. One of the things my aunt likes about the car, is the purr of the exhaust as it goes down the road. Without, another reason not to buy one maybe?

Not to mention all the shipping involved in the mining to battery install process. With that said, there are a lot of efforts going into battery recycling, but how successful these efforts are remains to be seen once we start seeing all this mass of batteries produced in the past several years start to fail.
Rebuilt alternators are junk. I had a local shop rebuild one on my 2003 SVT Cobra. It failed while I was on vacation. I contacted PA Performance and had a new one delivered to me and we put it on in the driveway. It's going on fifteen years and it has never had a problem. Their alternators are top-notch, for sure.
Going all electric is such a mistake - there are too many situations where the infrastructure for charging electrics just isn't there, and the electric cars just don't have the range. Most only function in the 20-80% range (charging them past 80% takes too long). If you have to charge your car every day, who is going to stop at a charge station for that long every day, when everyone else needs them too? Plus making them leaves a terrible footprint, along with disposing of the batteries when they go dead. The electric car manufacturers MUST know al of this, and yet, they are doing it anyway without saying a word.
Ford COULD have succeed with Jaguar. But they screwed it up by based it on Ford bodies. After Ford bought Jaguar, the executives went to England to see what they bought. They said the factory looked like something out of the Middle Ages.
I had problems with alternators after replacing a shorted glass mat battery. Finally took it go Ford and found I had a partially failed in line fusible link.

I always overhaul my old alternators and starters. They are really simple devices and parts are cheap. Also it's a good idea to pop the side seals off new bearings and put more grease in them, then put the side seal back on.
I'm from wolverhampton Uk where they have the JaguarLandRover engine plant, and I would run from one of their vehicles myself, I used to work in the car manufacturing industry.
I remember when people were taking their JAGUARS and switching out the V12 engines and putting in V8 engines and driving them like Banshees.. This was back inthe eighties and everybody seemed happy.. I still see some around here in north Texas...(Dallas) 🐦 ❤
Scotty, I watch your show but I have owned 2 Jaguars and they are no worse than a Ford or Chevy after owning both. The best car I have personally owned was Mazda with having 3 of those.

Hondas are very picky on alternators. When I bought my 2014 civic, the previous owner had replaced the battery and the alternator. He had put in a no name brand alternator (probably built in China), and the car had an error message on the charging system. In addition, the engine fluctuated while idling. Bought a used oem honda (mitsubishi) alternator with low mileage. Problem solved.
Jaguar can't make dependable gas powered cars! To make a Ev is a joke with their record of reliability! Several years ago I wouldn't go to dinner with my friends in their Jaguar because it left us stranded so many times! I drove them in my lexus.

I looked into buying original equipment from Hnda.For a alternator for my daughter's civic and it was fourteen hundred dollars. I got one from O'reilly's, and it works. So yeah, you can get a bunch of bad ones, and i've had them from my pickup from that, but I can't afford fourteen hundred dollars.
That's insane. It wouldn't even cost $600 to get a custom made high output alt from a company like Mechman Alternators or Singer Alternators, that's 3 to 10 times the size of that chinsy factory one.
5 years ago mine was $500 which I thought was alot, but I didn't want a cheap one to fail at the worst time. Look for alternator rebuild shop, probably 1/2 price compared to dealer Or get one from auto dismantling place , used but at least oem
An auto electrician told me the newer alternators are very expensive (because of the extra load required to keep all the modern tech running).... & can't be rebuilt like the older alternators could 🤷.

Not easy to understand for a foreigner. Tatas were initially manufacturer of trucks and military vehicles. Later evolved into car making. They manufactued w124 for mercedes in India until 1994 approx. They don't manufacture products that may wow international audience. Majority of their audience are indian and produce indian specific. Though their vehicles are crude, they are better suited for Indian terrain. Ever wondered why your American Giants like Chevy and Ford failed in india and fled India, and how Tata took over JLR from Ford? Read that, that's another interesting story. You will find it in the internet.

With that said, there are a lot of efforts going into battery recycling, but how successful these efforts are remains to be seen once we start seeing all this mass of batteries produced in the past several years start to fail.
Rebuilt alternators are junk. I had a local shop rebuild one on my 2003 SVT Cobra. It failed while I was on vacation. I contacted PA Performance and had a new one delivered to me and we put it on in the driveway. It's going on fifteen years and it has never had a problem. Their alternators are top-notch, for sure.

Going all electric is such a mistake - there are too many situations where the infrastructure for charging electrics just isn't there, and the electric cars just don't have the range. Most only function in the 20-80% range (charging them past 80% takes too long). If you have to charge your car every day, who is going to stop at a charge station for that long every day, when everyone else needs them too? Plus making them leaves a terrible footprint, along with disposing of the batteries when they go dead.
The electric car manufacturers MUST know al of this, and yet, they are doing it anyway without saying a word.
You realize the NUMBER ONE selling vehicle IN THE WORLD in 2023 was an EV? If it’s so terrible to own one you better tell all those people.

I always overhaul my old alternators and starters. They are really simple devices and parts are cheap. Also it's a good idea to pop the side seals off new bearings and put more grease in them, then put the side seal back on.

I remember when people were taking their JAGUARS and switching out the V12 engines and putting in V8 engines and driving them like Banshees..
This was back inthe eighties and everybody seemed happy..

Hondas are very picky on alternators. When I bought my 2014 civic, the previous owner had replaced the battery and the alternator. He had put in a no name brand alternator (probably built in China), and the car had an error message on the charging system. In addition, the engine fluctuated while idling. Bought a used oem honda (mitsubishi) alternator with low mileage. Problem solved.
Jaguar can't make dependable gas powered cars! To make a Ev is a joke with their record of reliability! Several years ago I wouldn't go to dinner with my friends in their Jaguar because it left us stranded so many times! I drove them in my lexus.

I looked into buying original equipment from Hnda.For a alternator for my daughter's civic and it was fourteen hundred dollars. I got one from O'reilly's, and it works. So yeah, you can get a bunch of bad ones, and i've had them from my pickup from that, but I can't afford fourteen hundred dollars.
That's insane. It wouldn't even cost $600 to get a custom made high output alt from a company like Mechman Alternators or Singer Alternators, that's 3 to 10 times the size of that chinsy factory one.
5 years ago mine was $500 which I thought was alot, but I didn't want a cheap one to fail at the worst time.
Look for alternator rebuild shop, probably 1/2 price compared to dealer
Or get one from auto dismantling place , used but at least oem
An auto electrician told me the newer alternators are very expensive (because of the extra load required to keep all the modern tech running).... & can't be rebuilt like the older alternators could 🤷.

Tatas were initially manufacturer of trucks and military vehicles. Later evolved into car making. They manufactued w124 for mercedes in India until 1994 approx.
They don't manufacture products that may wow international audience. Majority of their audience are indian and produce indian specific. Though their vehicles are crude, they are better suited for Indian terrain.
