This is such a great little bike. It does everything an everyday bike needs to do. It looks superb (my opinion of course) and it rides superbly. The 286cc engine is underrated by many but praised highly by those who know it. Look up Ari Henning's thoughts if you need proof of that. Just the look of the bike was enough for me to order one. I can keep my KTM 990 SMT for touring and longer jaunts. However, I'd happily take this out to the seaside and back for the day. I'm a light rider at 147lb and this bike just flies along so easily. More than capable in traffic with plenty of zip. Sounds great with that stock exhaust too. Well done Honda for making a standard exhaust that looks and sounds excellent. The gearbox and gear change is so slick, that you'll be up in 6th almost without realising. Seriously recommend anyone interested in it's looks to test ride it. You'll have a blast!
it certainly is a fab little bike, so much fun and with great looks too. we loved it :)
Come on, that gigantic exhaust looks hilarious on that little bike.
Sounds good
@@0Turbox I never expected to be on some silly exhaust crusade on the interwebs for a little Honda motorcycle. Sigh.... I have CB300R. I don’t care about how anyone thinks the exhaust looks. I mean this with respect, no stupid internet flame whatever... You really need to sit and ride on one of these things to get it, though I think there’s something universal about muffler volume (size) and sound and tone. Honda nailed it. I understand very well the desire to ‘hotrod’. We do this. I approve. But I have yet to hear something aftermarket in this case that sounds any better. Take this with a grain of salt as I took the Bub pipes off my next gen Bonneville in favor of the stock pipes with holes punched through the baffles, and took the aftermarket pipes off my Superglide and put the stock exhaust back on after punching holes through the baffles on those too.
Lovely little bike this CB300R. It’s sport bike brother sets lap records, and I think this has the better hardware. The small frontal area and it being naked yielded the unexpected pleasure (to me) of being in undisturbed and un-turbulent air. No buffeting. And the engine always has torque on tap. Not what I expected from such small displacement. Cheers!
@@stevewelebny2749 I don't know what you want from me, I own one since 30 Month ;)
I live in Bangkok and you don't want the mirrors sticking out further because it makes filtering through traffic in cities harder.
The beauty of the CB300R is that it has the same small chassis and upright forks and short wheelbase as on the CB125, CB150 meaning it is like riding a powerful moped and easy to filter through traffic and yet powerful and fast enough to cruise on open main roads. Na underrated motorbike in my opinion.
YES! Well yamaha if you couldn't make us a baby XSR .... Honda just did! One sexy bike 😍
I love the styling of the cb300r but honestly if they made a 300 or 400 XSR I'd much rather get that.
I would say the Honda CB650R is also in the Neo Sports Cafe Series
Wow, those really look good in silver! Thanks for an excellent review, cheers from sunny Arizona USA!
I’m gonna get one. My mind is set.
great video! you need to come to the states and feel the freedoms we have ridding here
just been to the US for a holiday and one of our tours is currently underway in the states too! Fabulous country!
You guys are certainly getting some great weather for your riding. Thanks again, enjoyed it.
hey Russell, yeah the weather was fab, went to spain & portugal and had the same weather, but yeah, makes everything right when the weather is good :)
Great review of a lovely little bike I want one. 👍🇬🇧🏍
Great review guys, looking at getting me of these after I pass my test and upgrade from the cb125r I currently have, same frame just a bigger engine so should just be able to jump on and finally overtake things!
you will love it Nathan. Its an awesome machine indeed! Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the review. Ride Safe
Those bikes are not just for commuters and beginners. I am very fortunate to own a few large bikes which i absolutely love, however being of a certain age the weight of these bikes has become an issue, so a 250-300cc is perfect for enjoying riding for us senior guys.
very true indeed Andrew....
i am 72 and have a red one of these 300rs. love it.
Funny you should say that it may be good for a motorhome. I've got a PCX125 at the moment but I'm looking at one of these. The weight may be a problem for the rack though (fingers crossed).
Sounds like the more you rode it, the more you liked it. Ride safe mate.
Good review. Cheers!
thanks buddy for the kind words, it means a lot to us both. ride safe
Cracking day to do a review on. Looks a nice bike great job.
thanks buddy, was an amazing day in Cornwall through the spell of great weather.... bike was fab too!
Good review guys
thanks Lyn :)
How about a test on the Honda MSX 125. Looks fun I've seen a few people commuting on them and they defiantly get through the traffic a bit better than my GSA
we will see what we can do in future videos ... Really surprised at how fun the 125's can be... awesome fun
Great review again boys , btw better with the Honda monkey bike on the back of the camper or put it in the backseat of the car lol. 😁 thumbs up again and I have the baby brother of this bike and I love it. Just getting back into two wheels again , after a massive break of thirty or so years since my last bike being a 1976 Yamaha rd250 😁
thanks Morris for the kind words. Love the idea of putting the monkey bike on the back seat.. hahahha.... Never too old to get back into the biking scene.. glad your back matey, ride safe :)
Too heavy for the back of my van, I can certainly feel it when my 75 kg bike is on the back.
Hi a good video and short review of a bike Honda has clearly created to stand out from the crowd.
Two small extras I would like to have seen reviewed or commented on namely:
1) The seat height - is it adjustable and what's it feel like compared to your height/inseam etc
2) A demonstration of the front and rear brake effectiveness and what you thought of them for a bike of this class
hi, thanks for the kind words Kevin. The seat is not that adjustable unfortunately, and the brakes are really good. more than enough for this bike :)
Duke 390, mt-03 or cb300r its very hard choice
it certainly is but they are all great bikes
@@RiderCamTV what's will be better for long ride ?
It would be hard for us to say which would be best for a longer ride. Try both if you can.
What did you end up getting?
I am getting this or the Duke 390 at the same price here in India. What would you suggest for a guy who is not a newbie to biking but will be upgrading from a 150cc bike. Factors are fun and reliability and usage will be mostly city. Thank you!
100% the 390 Duke... Such a fun bike, great price for what you get as well as the ability to have a light bike to weave in and out of the traffic and of course park it easily in a busy city... whichever you choose will be fab, but the 390 is sooo much fun to ride :)
@@RiderCamTV I so want to get the 390, but it has known reliability issues even its first year of ownership... Hondas are known to be expensive category-wise, but they make up for it in the rock solid reliability and premium feel parts. Just that 286cc will not be that big of an upgrade from 150cc... thanks for your reply mate!
help me choose between this and yamaha r3
Nice video, as always. 👍
thanks buddy :)
Hi very informative video . Can it be used for touring , say about 200 to 250 kms in a day with intermittent breaks .? And how about pillion seat comfort ?
Is the 600 you mention actually the CB500F ?
ah the 650 I guess ua-cam.com/video/A6c4FTVDFOw/v-deo.html
Hiya it was the CB650F which we found a bit underwhelming. Ride safe.
had a go on the 300 yesterday, I think it'll be my next bike, I just have to wait for some big reductions on the price.
Honda CB300R or the BMW G310 R. Will be using it only for in town commute, no highway or freeway rides. Price is not too far from each other. What do you think? Please help me decide.
Wet Rain hiya! I like both of them. We had BMW 310 on a recent Morocco tour and it did very well. The Honda has typical Honda build quality so you are right nothing between them. Which dealer is closest to your house may be how to decide.... Let us know how you got on.
Mark Holroyd thanks for the reply and input on both. The honda dealer is closer than the bmw. I will check them both again and then decide.
Wet Rain the Honda is a safer bet. I've test ride both.
I sat on one and the foot pegs stabbed my cavs. Honda pls fix the pegs
This or the RE Meteor?
is the rear sear comfortable to sit on?
not sure but it is very small.
Anyone reading this as a larger biker whats it like cramped up or is it like my 125 even though its small it feels decent.
it does feel a decent position to ride in
This bike certainly needs a decent tail tidy.
Hey, how tall are you? I`m 184cm=6 feet, do you think this bike is too small for me?
the only way to truly know is to try it out, but we are boht about 5'11" so not that much shorter
I'm 6'1, and it fits perfectly.
verry good But show under seat next time can i get leggin wets and a cagool under thin material stuff. show spedo then can judge how fast it gets up to 60mph. what if any goodies come with it.... but ok video im buying one tomorrow......regards john
There's hardly any space under the seat for storage. It gets up to 60mph pretty quickly!
How many price of india bro...
not sure, sorry
Don’t have to be young person or a new rider!….also great for an experienced motorcyclist who just wants a small capacity bike…..what a concept eh?! 🙄🤣
Very true buddy
Can you get wind screen for at ?
i have a givi small screen on mine ,it was on when i got the bike about a month ago.
Hate those dam LED dash on all the new bikes. The car makers tried that crap in the 1980's and consumers rejected it. It's cheaper for the manufacturers to put these in it instead of analog gauges.
No gear indicator even?? Single cylinder?? Slow? Look at the Yamaha mt03. It's cheaper and faster. You get so much more...
This bike s made n Thailand r Japan..?
Thailand.
The first two digits of the VIN indicate that (if it were Japan, the VIN would start JH for Japan Honda), and the decal stuck to the frame says Honda Thailand.
Also, if it were of Japanese manufacture, it would retail for more than $4,949.
I own a 2020 model CB300R (since October 19th) with 437 miles on it so far.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with it.
The only thing I wanted to change right away was the front brake performance, which was done with EBC HH-rated front brake pads.
Much better and brake performance is now good.
mileage in kmpl??
Go for it! This is a Great 300cc bike if you're looking for a comfortable and lightweight motorbike. But if you're a big guy this may not be the one you should consider.
By the way this is the worst review of Honda cb 300r I have seen so far!
I got so bored within 1:30 😞
